Chapter 963: Dealing with Satori
Forgotten Island, somewhere close to the Land of Lightning
Standing beside a massive cubic black box adorned with demonic faces, Kuroto inquired, “Shisui, are you prepared?”
Shisui nodded, activating his Mangekyou Sharingan. “Yes.”
“Alright, let’s go over the plan once more,” Kuroto said. After a moment, he continued, “I’ll channel Chakra into the Box of Ultimate Bliss to awaken Satori. Once it’s out, restrain it. Shisui, your task is to use your Kotoamatsukami on Satori, ensuring its loyalty to the Amatsukami. Everyone clear on the plan?”
Both Shisui responded in unison, “Yes!”
Kuroto and Shisui found themselves on the forgotten island near the Land of Lightning, actively making arrangements to confront the Box of Ultimate Bliss and its ancient inhabitant, Satori.
Over the past decade, Satori had been summoned twice: once by the Akatsuki Organization during the Konoha Collapse Plan, and the second time about seven to eight months ago by Aoki to unleash chaos in Konoha.
On both occasions when Satori was summoned, it wrought havoc upon Konoha, and each time, it fell to Kuroto to confront the malevolent entity. Dealing with this creature proved an arduous task for most shinobi. Satori, a tangible embodiment of evil, possessed no inclination other than to sow chaos. While not exceptionally strong, its formidable traits included a massive body capable of launching feathers and firing explosive Chakra spheres.
However, what rendered Satori exceptionally troublesome for the majority of adversaries was its ability to detect fear and bloodlust. This creature could evade nearly all attacks unless they surpassed its remarkable agility or lacked any malicious intent. The combination of these abilities made Satori a formidable and challenging opponent for anyone attempting to confront it.
Certainly, individuals like Kuroto and Shisui possess strength in a completely different realm, making it easy for them to handle this creature. However, for people like Jiraiya and Tsunade-hime, dealing with it would be an incredibly challenging task, and they don’t stand a chance. On two occasions, the Akatsuki Organization used the power of the Box of Ultimate Bliss to wreak havoc in Konoha. Kuroto is determined to prevent a third occurrence of such incidents, and he has decided to address and resolve this issue here and now.
Indeed, confronting a creature like this poses a unique challenge. Given that it’s a puppet and the embodiment of evil, traditional methods of elimination won’t suffice. Even if its physical form is destroyed, the soul will return to the Box of Ultimate Bliss, awaiting the next sacrifice for resurrection.
The only viable solution to permanently eradicate this menace is to target the source of its power, the Box of Ultimate Bliss. However, this poses a significant challenge as the box has endured for a millennium without a single scratch, making it seemingly indestructible.
Kuroto is contemplating the potential use of Truth-Seeking Orbs to permanently damage Satori and the Box. These orbs have the ability to destroy souls, leading him to believe that they might be effective against the formidable duo. However, he is uncertain about this course of action because the Sage of Six Paths did not employ such a method.
The fact that the Sage did not destroy the Box of Ultimate Bliss suggests that it may not be a viable option. Despite the Sage’s immense power, the Box has persisted. Kuroto, for now, is not planning to test this theory and is exploring alternative means to address the threat posed by the Box and Satori.
Given that Satori is essentially a puppet of the Box and acts on instinct rather than rational thought, attempting to show kindness or engage in reasoning is deemed futile by Kuroto. Instead, he opts for a more direct and effective approach—control.
In the realm of manipulation, Kuroto turns to Shisui’s Kotoamatsukami as the optimal choice. He has successfully employed this technique to subtly control powerful figures such as the Godaime Kazekage Pakura and the Yondaime Mizukage Karatachi Yagura. The efficacy of the technique is evident, as even individuals with significant power, like Yagura with the Three Tails within him, remain unaware of being under someone else’s Genjutsu. For Kuroto, this method stands as the best and foolproof means of controlling and manipulating others.
In this situation, Kuroto is planning to apply the same strategy he used with Shisui and others to control Satori. As Shisui and Samsara assumed their positions, Kuroto signaled his approval with a nod. Following this, he unsealed Toyotama from the Gourd and infused the Chakra into the Box of Ultimate Bliss.
Upon the entry of the purple Chakra of Ryūmyaku into the Box, a malevolent black wave swept the surroundings. This wave instilled a sense of dread in Shisui and Samsara and triggered instinctive fear in the various creatures residing on the Forgotten Island.
Despite the unsettling effects on the surroundings, Kuroto remained unaffected and persisted in infusing Chakra into the Box. Soon, rhythmic echoes filled the air. It wasn’t until seventy to eighty percent of the Ryūmyaku Chakra had been absorbed by the Box of Ultimate Bliss that it finally opened, allowing Satori to emerge.
As the creature stepped out, Kuroto’s pre-prepared Fuinjutsu Formation activated. In an instant, the formation emitted a glow, and thousands of chains materialized with the explicit purpose of restraining Satori, limiting its movements.
While the creature managed to evade a few dozen chains, contending with the simultaneous onslaught of thousands of sealing Chakra chains proved to be overwhelming. The absence of any bloodlust or fear in the chains made dodging more challenging for Satori.
In a short span of time, Satori found itself enveloped from head to toe in glowing Chakra chains. As the chains tightened, a remarkable transformation occurred—Satori’s colossal form diminished, adopting a humanoid shape with long black hair and fair skin.
The humanoid form that emerged from the chains was revealed to be Muku, the son of Mui from Kusagakure. Muku had been offered as a sacrifice to the Box of Ultimate Bliss by Kusagakure, with the intention of harnessing the Box’s power to control the entire Shinobi World. Unfortunately, the outcome didn’t align with their aspirations.
The current form, now shared by Muku and Satori, represents a merging of the two entities into a singular being—a physical embodiment of the evil within the Box of Ultimate Bliss. It’s important to note that the transformation into a humanoid form was not Satori’s intention; rather, it was a consequence of the Chakra chains wrapped around him during the containment process.
Given that the creature Satori lacks eyes, using Visual Genjutsu directly on it is deemed impossible. However, with Muku and Satori now unified, exploiting Muku’s eyes for a Visual Genjutsu could affect both entities. Since Muku, formerly human, possesses a pair of eyes, Kuroto and Shisui focus their attention on them.
Observing the pair of indifferent eyes, Kuroto turned to Shisui and said, “You’re up!”
Shisui nodded in acknowledgment, responding, “I know,” and approached Muku. Fixing his gaze on Muku’s eyes, Shisui activated his Genjutsu, ‘Mangekyou Sharingan: Kotoamatsukami!’
Ba Dump
Instantaneously, a rhythmic heartbeat echoed through the air, signifying the effect of Shisui’s Dōjutsu on Muku’s indifferent eyes, now rendered blank. This heartbeat represented the resonance of ‘Will’ induced by Shisui’s ocular technique. In this crucial moment, Muku/Satori’s ‘Will’ fell under Shisui’s control, open to modification according to his desires.
Taking advantage of this control, Shisui implanted a series of commands into Muku’s consciousness, stating, “Muku/Satori, from this moment onward, throughout the span of your existence—whether in life, death, or the realms in between—you shall remain eternally loyal to Amatsukami.” Additional commands were intricately woven into the directive, ensuring Muku/Satori’s unwavering loyalty to Amatsukami and Kuroto under all circumstances.
Upon receiving Shisui’s command, Muku’s mechanical voice resonated, stating, “I am a loyal subordinate of Amatsukami. I will remain eternally loyal to the organization while alive, even after my death, and somewhere in between.”
Following this affirmation, Shisui severed eye contact with Muku, deactivating his Mangekyou Sharingan. He then took a deep breath and informed Kuroto, “It’s done, Kuroto-san.”
“Very good,” Kuroto praised, his gaze lingering on Muku’s eyes. Though they retained their indifference, a notable absence of hostility was apparent. Observing this change, Kuroto smiled faintly and proceeded to release the chains that had confined Muku.
As the chains were removed, Muku slumped to the ground. Kuroto extended a helping hand, assisting him to his feet. A thorough examination followed, revealing a discernible shift in the negative energy emanating from Muku. It was evident that this was no longer the same Muku/Satori that Kuroto had previously restrained.
“It seems that it worked out!” Kuroto murmured, wearing a satisfied smile.
The immediate plan was to closely monitor Muku over the next few days, carefully studying his behavior. Kuroto intended to ensure that Muku’s transformation and loyalty were stable and free from issues. Once he was confident that there were no problems with Muku, Kuroto planned to bring the newly acquired subordinate to the recently renovated Ancor Vantian.
