Reborn into Naruto World with Tenseigan

Chapter 954: Stronger or Selfish?

After testing their respective trainees, Kuroto and Kakashi met up on their way to the Hokage Building. Kuroto questioned, “So, how did it go on your side?”

Kakashi couldn’t help but immediately praise Sasuke, “That boy has a lot of potential,” and added with a sigh, “What’s more, his personality is similar to mine back when I was his age.”

Kuroto nodded, “Hmm, I figured as much; that’s the reason I want you to focus on him. So, what’s your decision? Will you be imparting him your knowledge?” By ‘your knowledge,’ Kuroto was referring to the Kenjutsu skills of the Hatake Clan that work in tandem with Lightning Chakra, as well as Chidori and other Lightning Jutsu that Kakashi has created himself.

Kakashi replied after a silence, “I am going to observe Sasuke-kun for a few more days before making my final decision.” He then added, “Though I think it will be fine.”

Kuroto accepted Kakashi’s answer, “Fair enough.”

At this time, Kakashi asked with concern, “What about Uzumaki Naruto? How did he do?”

Thinking of the time he spent with Naruto, Kuroto smiled bitterly, “How do I even explain about him… as you would expect, his theoretical concepts are quite weak, so there is a serious need to work on that. Because of this, it will take time for him to learn things. The way he is currently, sometimes he is able to understand things immediately; sometimes it is difficult for him… but I think I will be able to adapt to his level. It won’t be a problem.”

Up until now, Kuroto has taught things to Yui, Shisui, Itachi, Kurenai, Anko, Pakura, Neji, Karin, and Gaara. All of them are sharp people and can understand things quite easily, but Naruto is different. Naruto is a little dull when it comes to theory. Therefore, Kuroto needs to build up things from the ground level and explain everything in the simplest way possible for him to comprehend the details. Kuroto needs to be very patient with Naruto.

Because Kuroto knows that Naruto is the so-called ‘Child of the Prophecy’ and has the highest potential among the people of his generation, he understands that being patient with Naruto will prove to be worth it.

“Thank you, Kuroto. I leave Naruto in your care,” said Kuroto with a sincere tone of voice.

If possible, Kakashi would want to train Naruto personally. After all, Naruto is the only child of his Sensei, and it is Kakashi’s responsibility to teach Naruto and pass down whatever he learned from the Yondaime Hokage. However, Kakashi also understands that he isn’t the best person suited to teach Naruto. Moreover, his style of combat won’t suit Naruto either.

In Konoha, the only person suitable to teach Naruto is Kuroto. Both of them are Jinchuriki of tailed beasts, with Kuroto already having perfect control over Ryūmyaku. Kuroto also happens to know Senjutsu–yes, the village is aware that Kuroto has mastered Senjutsu. Jiraiya was able to sense that Kuroto was using Senjutsu, and Kuroto did not deny it–making him the most suitable person to guide Naruto.

From the time Kakashi spent assessing Sasuke a while ago, he also understood that Kuroto’s guess was correct. Not only did the young man’s personality coincide with his, but his fighting style also happened to match his, making him all the more suitable to be guided by him.

Kuroto nodded with a smile, “Don’t worry, since I have decided to do this, naturally, I won’t do it half-heartedly.”

Kakashi nodded, “That’s reassuring.” After a pause, he couldn’t help but question, “Though I must ask, is this necessary? I mean, they are really too young.”

“It is, and we were also very young when we went to the battlefield of the Third Great Shinobi War. And need I remind you that you have been doing these things since you were only five years old? Compared to you, these kids are already far too old!” said Kuroto seriously. He added, “The threat of Akatsuki, it would be best if we don’t let our guard down. True, there’s Amatsukami to check and balance Akatsuki, but Amatsukami’s actions are unpredictable. The five-tailed beasts that Akatsuki has already captured, Amatsukami doesn’t seem to have made any attempts to rescue them from Akatsuki.”

“These children have potential, far more potential than any of us. Therefore, we need to do everything we can to make sure their potential is harnessed before it’s too late. The sooner they grow up, the lighter the burden will be on our shoulders, and the better fighting chance we will have.”

Kakashi nodded, “I see,” but he couldn’t help but sigh, “But seeing that we are putting these children through something like this, we have really failed as adults. They might even end up resenting us.”

“I would rather have them hate me and curse me than let them go through what we went through back when we were their age!” said Kuroto. He added, “I would be willing to bear their burning anger on me than see their cold and lifeless bodies at the morgue or at the Memorial Stone.”

“You are really strong, Kuroto, stronger than any of us,” muttered Kakashi as he looked down.

Kuroto shook his head, “Rather, I am more selfish, more selfish than anyone in this world.”

The reason Kuroto has given to Kakashi is not the entire truth. The main reason is that Kuroto lacks confidence. His desire to defy fate and take control over his life has led to the current circumstances. If not for him, the Shinobi World would have followed the predetermined path and eventually become peaceful.

However, Kuroto chose to defy fate, and his actions had subsequent consequences and repercussions. Now, the fate of the world is uncertain, and it’s unclear whether the Shinobi World will become as peaceful as it did in the Canon.

Moreover, there is no guarantee that he will succeed because the path he is walking is an untrodden one. Any wrong step can lead to terrible consequences. Kuroto does not want the entire world to continue to suffer because of his mistakes. Even with a backhand in the form of Karin’s Rinnegan, there is still the element of uncertainty and an unknown path ahead. For this reason, he wants to do everything he can to ensure that things eventually return to the right path in case he fails.

Uchiha District, Konohagakure

As the sun started to set on the western horizon, Sasuke returned to his house. On his way, he happened to meet Itachi, who had just returned after assessing Neji, saying, “Nii-san!”

Noting the limp in Sasuke’s walk, Itachi questioned with a frown, “Sasuke, the assessment with Kakashi-senpai, how did it go?”

Sasuke did not dare to meet Itachi’s eyes and lowered his head.

Itachi sighed and shook his head, “It’s going to be difficult, huh?”

Noting the disappointment in Itachi’s tone, Sasuke’s heart pained. He tried to explain, “Nii-san… that…”

However, Itachi did not give him an opportunity, “There are certain affairs that I must attend to immediately. Otou-san and Okaa-san are waiting inside. Go and explain everything to them, then get your injuries healed from Izumi, and try again tomorrow.”

“Un… Understood!” Sasuke nodded hurriedly, then slowly went inside.

After Sasuke’s figure disappeared from view, Kuroto walked out from the shadows.

Looking at Kuroto, Itachi’s expression returned to normal, and he asked seriously, “Kuroto-san, will this method really work on Sasuke?”

“I am not certain, but it’s worth a try,” answered Kuroto. He then said, “Well, let’s go and see… how will his mood change and what effect it will have on his Chakra.”

Itachi nodded, “Very well,” and the two then concealed their presence and silently stepped inside the house to observe Sasuke’s state.
