Chapter 1082: Sasuke’s Hatred

Opening his eyes, Sasuke found himself in the Hospital Ward, “Uhh… this is…”

Seeing Sasuke regain consciousness, Mika, watching over him from the side, spoke, “Oh, looks like you are finally awake, huh, Sasuke-kun?” Then she got up, ran towards the ward door, and said to the people outside, “Kakashi-Sensei, Naruto-kun… Sasuke-kun has regained consciousness.”

While Mika relayed the information to Kakashi and Naruto, Sasuke held his head, feeling a little dizzy, and mumbled in confusion, “What… happened to me?” The last thing he remembered was the training ground, he couldn’t understand how he appeared at the Konoha Hospital.

The one to answer Sasuke’s question was Yui, who walked into the hospital ward along with Mika, Kakashi, and Naruto. Looking at the young Uchiha with a serious expression, Yui said, “You exhausted your Chakra reserves beyond a safe point. You know, that’s very dangerous. Chakra is life for us, and exhausting it completely means death. You are very lucky that your body’s self-preservation mechanism kicked in and you lost consciousness; otherwise, you might have exhausted yourself to death. Why would you do something so reckless?”

Sasuke clenched his fists and shifted his gaze away from Yui, not answering her question.

Seeing Sasuke’s silence, Yui sighed, shook her head, and turned to Kakashi. “Kakashi-san, please come with me.”

“Ah, yes,” Kakashi nodded and followed Yui outside the ward. He knew he would be scolded by Madam Hokage for allowing such recklessness from Sasuke, but there was no helping it.

As Yui and Kakashi walked out, Sasuke asked Naruto and Mika, “How long was I unconscious?”

Naruto replied, “You were unconscious for two days. You really made us worry, Sasuke.”

“Two days? That long?” Sasuke was stunned and sighed internally, ‘Thankfully, it’s only two days. I haven’t missed the third phase of the Chūnin Promotion Exam.’

Naruto pouted, saying, “You know when Kakashi-sensei brought you to the hospital, everyone said it would take at least a week or two for you to recover. It’s thanks to Yui-nee-chan that you recovered so quickly. For the past two days, she has been personally treating you.”

“Is that so?” mumbled Sasuke in surprise. He didn’t expect Madam Hokage to personally take care of him for two days; this was a complete surprise, and he couldn’t help but wonder why exactly she would do this.

Naruto smiled smugly, saying, “You’re wondering why she would do that, right?”

Not bothering to answer Naruto’s question, Sasuke tried to get up from the hospital bed.

Mika tried to stop him. “Sasuke-kun, although you have recovered, it’s still not to the point where you should be moving.”

Sasuke shook his head. “It’s alright, I am fine now.”

“No, you are not. You must rest more, at least for one more day,” said Mika countering Sasuke.

“She’s right. You pushed your body to the limit, and now you must rest. Just lie down and follow the doctor’s advice,” said Kakashi, walking back inside the ward.

Despite all the protests, Sasuke forced himself to stand up. Looking at Kakashi proudly, he said, “Kakashi-sensei, I have completed the Single Chakra Nature Transformation of the Lightning Chakra Nature and mastered Purple Lightning.”

Kakashi nodded with a helpless expression. “Yes, I saw that.” In fact, he was very proud of Sasuke, but given the circumstances, he couldn’t express his pride and instead appeared a little helpless.

Naruto asked curiously, “Nature Transformation for a single Chakra Nature? Purple Lightning? What’s that? Kakashi-sensei, are you teaching some secret Jutsu to Sasuke for the Third Phase? That’s not fair! I want a secret Jutsu too!”

Kakashi smiled sarcastically. “Aren’t you practicing with Guy?”

Naruto scratched his head. “Yeah, well… but I have to fight with Bushy Brow all the time, and then exercise with Bushy Brow and Bushier Brow Sensei with all those weights. It’s really boring, and I don’t know if I am improving or not…”

“Don’t worry. If it’s Guy, there will be results. Just continue to train with him,” said Kakashi confidently.

In fact, Kakashi really wanted to teach Naruto more, but there was nothing left for him to offer. Naruto’s Chakra Nature is Wind, and Kakashi had already taught him all the Wind Style Jutsu he knew. Beyond that, there was nothing else he could teach. Maybe Fuinjutsu, but it’s too early for Naruto to delve into that field as he lacks a foundation for Fuinjutsu, moreover Kakashi doubted Naruto would be able to grasp the complexities of Fuinjutsu with his simple mind at such a young age. What Naruto needed to learn was Senjutsu and the ability to control the tailed beast sealed inside him. Kakashi had no idea how to help Naruto with either of these and could only leave it up to Kuroto.

Sasuke’s case is different. There’s plenty more Kakashi can teach him, and their compatibility is very high.

Shaking his head, Kakashi said to Naruto, “Alright, now that Sasuke has regained consciousness, you should return to Guy and continue with your training. There’s not much time left for the Third Phase.”

“I know, Kakashi-sensei,” Naruto nodded with a pout as he began to leave. Before leaving, he made sure to say, “Sasuke, this time for sure, I’m going to defeat you.”

Sasuke responded with a cold snort, “Humph! You better not get eliminated before I break your delusions, loser.”

Naruto grinned in satisfaction and left the ward. Based on Sasuke’s response, he knew that Sasuke was going to be alright and left the hospital without any worries.

Mika watched the interaction between Sasuke and Naruto with a smile. Soon after Naruto left, she too exited the ward, leaving Sasuke and Kakashi alone.

After Naruto and Mika left, Sasuke asked, “Kakashi-sensei, did you tell my family about my situation?”

Kakashi hesitated and then nodded, saying, “Your younger sister seems to have gone on a training journey, so I couldn’t inform her. I did go to the Ninja Academy to tell your older brother about your situation, but he was too busy with the arrangements for the third phase of the Chūnin Promotion Exam and couldn’t spare the time to visit the hospital.”

This part really bugged Kakashi. He didn’t expect that Uchiha Itachi wouldn’t spare a few minutes to check on his younger brother’s situation. No matter how busy Itachi is as the Patriarch of the Uchiha Clan and the Principal of the Konoha Ninja Academy, Sasuke is his younger brother. He should have made some time for Sasuke, right? But no, he didn’t! It’s as if Sasuke’s well-being is of no concern to Itachi.

Hearing Kakashi’s answer, Sasuke looked away from the gate with a downcast expression.

Seeing Sasuke’s reaction, Kakashi sighed and said, “Sasuke, we need to talk. I can see that something is troubling you. Is it your family? Is it something else? What is it? This has gone on long enough. I believe that if we don’t address it now, you won’t be able to move past the problem that’s troubling you.” Staring at Sasuke, he asked, “Sasuke, what’s troubling you in your family?”

Sasuke shook his head. “That’s my personal matter. You don’t have to worry about that, Kakashi-sensei.”

Kakashi pursed his lips at Sasuke’s response but nodded. “Alright, it’s indeed your personal matter. I won’t question it.” Then, after a pause, he added, “But let me ask another question. Can you tell me why you’re so obsessed with this Chūnin Exam?”

Sasuke turned his face away and fell silent.

“If you don’t talk about it, we won’t get anywhere,” said Kakashi. “I am not your enemy, Sasuke. I am your sensei. If you tell me what’s troubling you, I will try to find a solution to help you.”

Sasuke shook his head. “You won’t be able to do that, Kakashi-sensei. You have your own obligations that you must fulfill.”

Kakashi was speechless. He didn’t expect Sasuke to put it so bluntly about it. He stared at Sasuke and asked tentatively, “Is it because of the possible involvement of Amatsukami?”

Hearing the term ‘Amatsukami,’ Sasuke’s expression became gloomier, and his originally black eyes turned scarlet with three tomoe whirling in them.

Based on Sasuke’s reaction to Amatsukami, Kakashi realized he had guessed correctly. Since Sasuke’s trouble involved his family and Amatsukami, Kakashi could understand the thoughts running through his mind. He could only sigh helplessly, “If you are targeting Amatsukami… I can only advise you to let it go.”

Sasuke wasn’t surprised by Kakashi’s suggestion and said, “That’s why I said, Kakashi-sensei, you won’t be able to help me unconditionally. You have obligations you must fulfill.”

Kakashi scratched his cheek awkwardly. “Well… it’s not just about that. Amatsukami… that organization is just too…”

Sasuke continued with a ferocious expression, “I don’t care. They have been hurting my clan and took away my father’s eyes. How could I ever forgive that?”

“Your hatred is indeed justified… it’s just that…” said Kakashi with a hesitant expression.

Sasuke said coldly, “The people they hurt aren’t members of your clan. The person whose eyes were taken away wasn’t your father, Kakashi-sensei. What right do you have to stop me? It’s my clan’s hatred, it’s my hatred.”

Kakashi was stunned by Sasuke’s response and sighed. Having witnessed his own father being driven to suicide by village rumors, he could understand Sasuke’s hatred better than most.

The truth is, the real target of Sasuke’s hatred is not Amatsukami, but Konoha Village. It was the village that pushed the Uchiha into that situation, and it was the village that caused Sasuke’s father to ‘lose’ his eyes. So, the target of his hatred should also be the village… but… Sasuke doesn’t know that the Village was responsible for all that therefore, he only hates Amatsukami… not the village… but is that really, right? Is it okay for Sasuke to continue the path he is walking?

‘Sigh, it’s really hypocritical of me to want to stop Sasuke, huh? Especially after I was the one who pushed things to this point…’ thought Kakashi.

Be that as it may, Kakashi didn’t want Sasuke to walk that path. But how could he stop him? Just telling him to stop wouldn’t work. Kakashi could explain everything to Sasuke, but given the Uchiha’s emotional nature, if Sasuke learned the truth, his hatred would not disappear. It would increase, and this time the village would also be the target. Sasuke might start walking the same path as that masked man.

‘What a troublesome situation…’ Kakashi felt deeply troubled, with no idea what to do.

‘For now, Sasuke’s hatred is directed at Amatsukami, but eventually, he will learn the truth, and when he does, his hatred will shift to the entire village. In reality, it should be me who bears all of Sasuke’s hatred… yes, it should only be me…’

Having made up his mind, Kakashi said to Sasuke, “You know, Amatsukami is too strong. To deal with that organization, let alone you, even the entire Konoha village isn’t enough. What will you be able to do against that organization on your own? Not to mention, we don’t even know if Deidara of Iwagakure is really Dojin of Amatsukami. This is still only speculation; there is no definitive proof.”

“Whether he is really Dojin or not, I will verify on my own using the power of my Sharingan,” Sasuke said coldly as he got up from the bed.

“Are you so determined?” asked Kakashi.

“Yes,” Sasuke nodded as he finished changing his clothes.

“Since that’s the case, then as your instructor, I can only support you…” said Kakashi as he activated the Flying Raijin and disappeared from the Hospital Ward with Sasuke.

“Where are we?” asked Sasuke, finding himself in an unfamiliar forest.

“This is my personal training ground. It’s far from the village, so no matter what we do here, it won’t attract too much attention,” Kakashi replied.

“Is that so?” Sasuke mumbled with a thoughtful expression.

Kakashi looked up at the dim sky and said solemnly, “With your current strength, you are far too weak to defeat Deidara.”

“Haven’t I already mastered Purple Lightning?” asked Sasuke with a frown. Mastering Purple Lightning was supposed to give him an edge that’s why he worked desperately in the past few days to master it.

“It won’t help much against Deidara’s Dust Style. If you push him into a life-and-death battle, he might start using his Kekkei Tōta,” said Kakashi. He continued, “There is one other Lightning Style Jutsu that I saw used in the battle between Raijin and Darui. Unless you master a Jutsu of that rank, you won’t be able to truly pose a threat to him. Let’s spend the next few days seeing if you can master that Jutsu. Even I’m not sure if I can use it, but maybe… just maybe…”

“What kind of Jutsu are you talking about, Kakashi-sensei?” asked Sasuke curiously.

“The power of natural lightning,” Kakashi replied. “I’m talking about harnessing the power of natural lightning…”
