Chapter 1081: Tsunade-hime’s Unprecedented Trust?
“Tsunade, you seem to have changed a lot recently. How did that happen?” asked Jiraiya, focusing his gaze on Tsunade-hime.
Hearing Jiraiya’s words, Tsunade-hime appeared a little surprised and embarrassed.
Having implanted the Hashirama Cells into her body, aside from awakening the Wood Release Kekkei Genkai, Tsunade-hime has indeed experienced several physical changes… But because she hadn’t made any public appearance since the implantation operation, only Kuroto and Shizune had seen her, and since neither of the two commented much upon the physical changes, Shizune did appear a little envious of the increase in Tsunade-hime’s sizes but didn’t talk much about it except for pouting for a while, naturally, Tsunade-hime didn’t care too much about the changes… except for having to change her clothes to the changed sizes, the changes in her body didn’t have much impact on her.
In fact, she didn’t even think anyone would notice her physical changes… and was kind of unprepared for Jiraiya’s sudden question, “……”
“Has Tsunade-sama changed?” mumbled Kakashi with a confused expression as he looked at Tsunade-hime. Unlike Jiraiya, he didn’t notice any major changes in her. Or maybe it’s because he has never looked that deeply at her, so he doesn’t see the difference even if there is a difference.
“Huh? Kakashi, don’t you see it, isn’t it very obvious to the eyes?” asked Jiraiya a little surprised. He leaned a little closer to Tsunade-hime, and with his eyes focused on a pair of jugs he spoke with a lecherous grin, “Don’t you notice that something here seems to have grown by a few centimeters in just a few days?”
“Uh… Jiraiya-sama…” warned Kakashi with a panicked expression as he noticed Tsunade-hime’s face becoming gloomier. The moment Jiraiya leaned in closer to Tsunade-hime’s breasts with that lecherous expression of her expression had turned cold.
But Jiraiya was so engrossed in observing a certain pair of legendary breasts that he didn’t hear Kakashi’s warning at all. Stroking his chin, Jiraiya exhaled white smoke from his nose, like an orc, and spoke, “107? 108? No, it’s neither 107 nor 108… the number is most definitely 109 centimeters…!” Resisting the urge to use his hands in order to directly measure the size, Jiraiya laughed as he continued, “109… huh? Hehehehe… even at this age… you can continue to grow Tsunade, what have you been doing, what’s the secret to this growth?”
Kakashi’s eyes jumped in panic, “Jiraiya-sama… you…” Just looking at Tsunade-hime’s expression which had become gloomier upon hearing Jiraiya’s question, he knew that Jiraiya was going to be unlucky. Seeing her clench both her fists, he understood that there was no stopping Tsunade-hime and took two steps back while gulping in fear. In fact, Kakashi even wanted to immediately leave using Flying Raijin, but Sasuke was training close by, so he couldn’t disappear and could only take a few steps back.
Not caring about Kakashi, Tsunade-hime coldly asked Jiraiya, “Oh, you want the secret, huh?”“!!!” Hearing that cold voice, Jiraiya realized that something was wrong and raised his head to look at her expression, “Tsunade?!” Immediately cold sweat appeared on his back and without wasting any time, Jiraiya turned around and tried to run away.
But before Jiraiya could run away, Tsunade-hime held him by his collar, saying, “Where do you think you are going, I’ll tell you the secret!” Then punched him in the head with all her might while shouting, “This is the secret… keep it forever etched into your memory you stupid pervert!”
“Ahhh… Tsuande!” Jiraiya screamed but there was no response from Tsunade-hime, only a fist in the face, Bang!
…
In all his years of living as a Shinobi, Jiraiya has come close to dying only twice. The first time was at the hands of Tsunade-hime when he was caught doing some ‘research.’ She beat him to death breaking several ribs, both his arms, and more. As for the second time… that is today…
“Jiraiya-sama…” muttered Kakashi as he looked at the pitiful state of Jiraiya on the ground. Although he didn’t count, Kakashi was certain that he heard at least a dozen bones crack when Tsunade-hime clobbered him.
“Humph… he deserves it, always going around the Bath Houses and Hot Springs to voyeur on the maidens there in the name of ‘research.’” said Tsunade-hime with a cold snort.
Kakashi was speechless… Although she scolded Jiraiya, she was also treating his injuries using healing Chakra.
“Not… not just… the increase in measurements… there’s also an increase in physical strength…” mumbled Jiraiya, sprawled on the ground. Having personally felt the punches and kicks from Tsunade-hime a while ago, he was quite certain that it was not just her bust size that had increased, her physical strength had increased as well. Tsunade-hime hadn’t just become curvier and ‘younger’; she had become stronger too, and he was quite intrigued by how that had happened in just a few days, so he questioned, “Tsunade, what did you do while I was gone to Amegakure?”
“Don’t speak now… we’ll talk about that later…” said Tsunade-hime not answering Jiraiya’s question. Before the complete restoration of the Forest of Death, she has no plans to reveal any information about the successful Implantation Operation and Wood Release. Of course, that’s only the case as long as Konoha doesn’t encounter any major danger, if an enemy were to attack the village, then she wouldn’t care about keeping her new Kekkei Genkai a secret.
Not wanting to discuss the matter of her physical changes, Tsunade-hime shifted the conversation. “Kakashi, about your eye… have you made any decision? Are you going to transplant the Sharingan that the Uchiha Patriarch gave us?”
In exchange for Tsunade-hime’s special Taijutsu for Uchiha Kiyomi, the current Uchiha Patriarch, Uchiha Itachi, handed over a Sharingan to the Village. Itachi’s main purpose was to obtain a Jutsu for his adopted sister as her graduation gift, but he also hoped to help Kakashi overcome the problem of lacking an eye and to smooth over the relationship between the Uchiha Clan and the Hokage Faction.
“That Sharingan, huh?” Kakashi mumbled thoughtfully, sighing lightly. “I’m not so sure about it… Rather than solving the problem of not having an eye, it would be a burden.”
Although the village had accepted the Sharingan from the Uchiha Clan in exchange for Tsunade-hime’s secret Taijutsu, Kakashi remained hesitant about transplanting it.
“Lacking an eye is indeed a serious problem, but it’s still better than bearing the burden that comes with a Sharingan,” said Kakashi. Although the Sharingan has many advantages, such as the Eye of Insight and the Eye of Hypnotism, Kakashi’s lack of Uchiha blood prevents him from deactivating it which means the Sharingan would remain active all the time. This leads to constant chakra consumption and low reserves when needed for battle. Given the choice, he would rather not transplant the Uchiha’s Sharingan at all.
The only reason he kept his previous Sharingan was because it was a memento from Obito. Even though it was a burden, consuming his chakra constantly and limiting his combat power, Kakashi kept it in memory of Obito as it was the last gift Obito gave him before he ‘died.’ Now that he has lost that Sharingan, he is hesitant about transplanting another one.
Regarding Kakashi’s decision, neither Tsunade-hime nor Jiraiya said anything; after all, the choice is his to make.
After a while of silence, Kakashi asked, “Tsunade-sama, is there no progress in the organ regeneration project?”
Tsunade-hime shook her head with a bitter smile. “Medical science is not advanced enough to regenerate organs. I’m afraid it will take years of advancement just to reach the stage where we can barely regenerate lost limbs. To regenerate something as complex as an eye might take decades.”
Even though Tsunade-hime is the best Iryō-ninja in the Shinobi World, regenerating an eye is still far beyond her capabilities or the capabilities of the current medical science.
“For now, the Uchiha’s Sharingan is the only method we have to solve the problem of your lack of an eye,” said Tsunade-hime with a helpless expression.
“That’s the only method, huh?” Kakashi sighed, feeling somewhat helpless.
Jiraiya pondered for a moment and then tentatively asked Tsunade-hime, “Tsunade, is there no way to solve just the burden that comes with a Sharingan?”
“I am not sure… at least, I don’t know,” answered Tsunade-hime, shaking her head.
“Would the Uchiha Clan have a method?” asked Jiraiya.
“How would I know if they have a method or not?” shrugged Tsunade-hime. “And even if they do, would they share it with us? If they were to hand over that method, wouldn’t that mean anyone could use their Kekkei Genkai? If I were them, I wouldn’t share it… just look at what’s happening with Wood Style, and everyone seems to eye the power of Sharingan.”
“Yeah… you’re right,” Jiraiya nodded, understanding Tsunade-hime, and suggested, “But we can still give it a try ourselves… maybe not with Iryō-ninjutsu, but with Fuinjutsu. It might be possible to contain the power of the Sharingan when it’s not in use.”
Kakashi shook his head. “I doubt it. It would be incredibly difficult since it would require focusing on each nerve in the eye. Minato-sensei and Kushina-sama tried to contain the power of the Sharingan, but they were unable to focus on such minute details. Even for both of them, focusing on each nerve in the eye was impossible.”
“Thought so…” mumbled Tsunade-hime, her expression thoughtful.
Minato and Kushina were some of the most knowledgeable people when it came to Fuinjutsu, and even they failed to solve the problem. This means that finding a solution wouldn’t be easy. As she pondered over possible solutions, her eyes suddenly lit up, and she suggested, “Ask Kuroto… he might have a way.”
“Kuroto?” Jiraiya mumbled in surprise, then asked doubtfully, “I know he’s just as talented as Minato in Fuinjutsu, but even Minato and Kushina working together failed. How will he succeed?”
“That guy is full of mysteries; he just might be able to solve this problem. Besides don’t forget that he is a Hyuga and has the Byakugan. Hyuga takes great pride in their abilities and can work on a minute scale. As a Hyuga, he should be able to work on the minute scale as well, there’s no question about it since he worked on the Yin-seal. If it’s him, he really might be able to solve your problem, Kakashi,” said Tsunade-hime. She added, “Even if he can’t solve your problem, he might be able to convince the Uchiha Clan to give you the method to solve it if they have such a method.”
Hearing the confidence in Tsunade-hime’s tone, Jiraiya couldn’t help but say, “You really seem to trust Kuroto’s abilities, Tsunade.”
“It’s not without reason,” said Tsunade-hime with a shrug.
For various reasons, Tsunade-hime’s trust in Kuroto’s abilities as a ninja has become rather unprecedented, especially after the successful implantation operation she recently underwent.
Improving the Yin-seal to suit men, creating an artificial-tailed beast and mastering its power, mastering Senjutsu, and researching the Hashirama Cells to the point of successfully carrying out implantation operations—these are just some of Kuroto’s accomplishments that she knows of. There might be other achievements she is unaware of.
Regardless, it takes great ability to accomplish such tasks, and therefore, Tsunade-hime truly believes that if anyone can solve Kakashi’s problem, it is Kuroto.
“Talk to him about it,” said Tsunade-hime.
Kakashi nodded, “Alright, I will.”
Just as the three of them reached a conclusion, a strange purple light suddenly shone through the training field.
Tsunade-hime, Kakashi, and Jiraiya (despite his wounds and lingering pain) looked toward the source of the purple light and discovered it was Sasuke in the training ground!
“Did he succeed?” Kakashi, Jiraiya, and Tsunade wondered, caught off guard by this change.
The appearance of the purple light from Sasuke could only mean one thing: Sasuke, covered in wounds and exhausted, had successfully completed the Single Chakra Nature Transformation of Lightning Chakra!
As Kakashi, Tsunade-hime, and Jiraiya watched in surprise, Sasuke, after completing the transformation, suddenly lost consciousness and collapsed to the ground with a thud.
