Chapter 1057: Samsara & Tengu’s Interference
‘That bastard Garaga, he intentionally ignored Orochimaru-sama!’
‘That Boar that the boy from the Hyuga Clan summoned, there’s something weird about it…’
Both Raijin and Orochimaru had different thoughts in their minds as they looked at each other.
Raijin pondered for a while and quickly guessed the reason Garaga ignored Orochimaru in its previous attack, ‘It ought to be because of Kabuto’s body, Garaga should be able to feel Kabuto’s connection to the Ryūchi Cave.’
Normally, the snakes of Ryūchi Cave do not care whether the enemy they are fighting is from the same faction/place or not, after all, they are cold-blooded creatures and generally do not care even if they kill one of their, in fact, snakes like Garaga, Manda, and Aoda often fight one another which causes havoc in the Ryūchi Cave and cause headache for the White Snake Sage, but that’s only the case when they do not have external enemies, in the presence of external enemies, they would even band together, and that’s what Garaga tried to do by attacking Raijin and ignoring Orochimaru.
Of course, there’s more to it, similar to almost all the inhabitants of Ryūchi Cave, Garaga doesn’t like the toad of Mount Myōboku so he wouldn’t mind if that toad suddenly got injured or died by one of his own, and that’s another reason Orochimaru was ignored, while Raijin wasn’t.
As for the reason why Okina Buta’s attack seemed to have ignored Raijin and only affected Orochimaru, it’s because of the nature of the Summoning contract. While it’s true that it’s made using blood, and the summoning is also done using blood as a medium or a conductor or a sacrifice to summon the contracted summon, the contract itself is imprinted on the soul, which means that the contract is not limited to the body, this is one of the reasons why Orochimaru has been capable of summoning Manda and other Giant Snakes from Ryūchi Cave over the years despite having changed his body multiple times, and this is also the reason why Hanzō of the Salamander was able to summon his massive Salamander Ibuse despite being an Edo Tensei.
Because the Summoning contract is imprinted on the soul, the Giant Boar can sense that one of the two enemies they are fighting, even if he looks different, is in fact, Kuroto, and because it knows that it is Kuroto, so naturally, it made sure not to let his attack affect ‘Kuroto.’
While Orochimaru was able to feel that something was weird about the Giant Boar summoned by Neji, he had too little information to make any conclusion in such a short span of time, so he could only put it at the back of his mind for the time being consider the possibility that it was ‘merely a coincidence.’
Sasuke was naturally not very happy with Raijin and the Kusagakure Kunoichi mocking him again and again despite them being surrounded from all sides, but this time, he did not shout or curse, rather he tried to calm his nerves and after weaving the hand signs, using what little Chakra he had left, he released a Fire Style Jutsu, ‘Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!’The Fireball traveled toward Raijin and Orochimaru making a loud roar, but the two ninjas weren’t panicked and easily dodged the incoming fireball by changing their position.
At this moment, Garaga smacked his tail violently toward Orochimaru and Raijin, however, before the tail could reach them, suddenly, Okina Buta rushed over and without any warning intercepted the tail using his body.
Bang!
With a loud bang, Garaga’s tail struck the wild boar, making it stumble and making Neji, Kiyomi, and Lee lose their footing, and fall to the ground.
Seeing this scene, Naruto said to the Giant Red Snake, “Garaga, that’s Neji’s summon, you are attacking the wrong people!”
Garaga was a little helpless, “It’s not me, it’s the idiot boar, it came between the attack on its own!”
In only a few breaths the boar once again stood up, and to Neji, Lee, Kiyomi, and Naruto’s astonishment, directly pounced on the Giant Snake.
“Why the hell is he attacking Garaga?!” everyone wondered, but no one knew the answer as they saw Okina Buta fight Garaga, and Garaga fight back against Okina Buta.
“You want a piece of me? Come then, I will definitely eat you today, I have been itching for a hearty meal!” laughed Garaga while trying to strangle Okina Buta.
Getting up from the ground, and dusting off her clothes, Kiyomi wondered, “Could it be the result of Genjutsu?”
Neji observed the Chakra Flow in Okina Buta’s body using his Byakugan, and answered, “His Chakra Flow seems to be proper…”
“Then why is he fighting Naruto’s summon?” asked Lee.
Neji sighed, shaking his head, “I don’t know why Buta-san is behaving in this manner.” He really did not know; Buta wasn’t even answering his question he was asking telepathically. Normally, he does, but at this moment, he wasn’t.
The sudden fight between Garaga and Okina Buta took Sasuke, Mika, Gamabunta, and Nue by surprise, unable to react for a moment, and taking advantage of this opportunity, Orochimaru and Raijin once again rushed toward Sasuke on top of Gamabunta’s head.
The one to react fastest, other than Sasuke of course, was Mika, and she instructed Nue to support Sasuke.
In response to the Giant chimera trying to interfere, Raijin shouted loudly, “Samsara! Tengu!”
“Understood,” responded Samsara, who had remained hidden for the entire duration. She suddenly appeared in front of Nue, and while remaining afloat, she looked at the Giant Chimera with her Rinnegan and ordered it in a cold voice, “Stand down!”
Rumble!
Much to Mika’s surprise, Nue suddenly stopped and refused to take a step forward.
“Nue, what happened?” asked Mika doubtfully.
But much to her surprise, the Giant chimera did not respond to her, it remained standing where it was. Considering the possibility of Genjutsu, Mika tried to disrupt Nue’s Chakra flow using her Chakra, but nothing happened. Seeing this Mika clicked her tongue, and asked Samsara, “What did you do to Nue?”
“I did nothing, it’s just afraid,” answered Samsara lightly.
“Afraid?” asked Mika with a frown.
“Yes, for its own life, and for your life,” nodded Samsara, and explained, “It knows instinctively that taking a step forward might result in its death, and your death as well.”
Mika’s eyes widened, “For such a thing…” Animals generally have great instincts to avoid danger, Nue naturally does too, and if it is instinctively afraid, it must mean that the difference in their strength is just too much.
Neji, Naruto, and the others noticed that Mika was unable to provide to Sasuke because of the sudden appearance of Amegakure’s Genin who blocked her and knew that they had to do it themselves, as a result, they tried to approach Sasuke.
But just as the four children had taken a step forward, with a pair of Fallen Angel-like wings spread behind him, Tengu appeared in front of them, and spoke in a monotone voice, “Stay here!”
“He is also from that Raijin’s squad, considering how difficult those two are, I doubt he would be easier,” spoke Neji looking at Tengu.
Nobody doubted Neji’s words because they had the same thoughts. The fact he has some sort of wings and can fly is enough of a reason for them to agree with Neji.
“We can’t waste time here, Sasuke’s life is in danger…” said Naruto, glaring at Tengu.
“What do we do?” asked Lee.
Kiyomi took a deep breath, “Neji-kun, Naruto-kun, and Lee-kun… the three of you go forward and help Sasuke-nii, I will try to stop him and make sure that he doesn’t interfere…”
Neji stared at Kiyomi in surprise, “Are you sure?”
Kiyomi smiled bitterly, “I don’t have the strength required to help Sasuke-nii there, you and Naruto-kun might have that strength, so I can only do this much,” as she finished her words, suddenly, the two tomoe in her Sharingan turned into three.
Neji and the others naturally noticed this change, and agreed, “Be careful…”
Kiyomi nodded, “I will…” With three tomoe spinning in her Sharingan Chakra gathering on her fists, she rushed toward Tengu and punched him.
Boom!
A loud explosion occurred as the ground crumbled and dust flowed up.
“Did it work?” mumbled Naruto doubtfully.
Neji said, “Now is not the time to question that… we have been given an opportunity, we best make use of it!” and rushed toward Gamabunta.
Lee and Naruto nodded, “Yes!” and followed after him.
Whiish! Whiish! Whiish!
But just as they took a few steps forward, suddenly, Black wings appeared out of the dust and attacked them, prompting them to stop.
Tuk! Tuk! Tuk!
The Black wings with sharp ends nailed on the ground before them.
As the trio stopped, they stared at the source of these Black wings, and that’s when suddenly wind waves appeared along with the sound of flapping of wings which cleared the dust and allowed Neji, Naruto, and Lee to see that Tengu was completely fine.
Naruto wondered, “Did she miss?”
Neji shook his head, “No, he moved,” noticing that Tengu was a step away from his initial position where Kiyomi attacked.
Kiyomi clenched her teeth and after gathering Chakra under her feet, she used that to push herself away from the ground as she pounced at Tengu at an incredible speed with Chakra gathering on her right fist, “This one ought to work!”
Boom!
An explosion occurred as the ground was smashed to smithereens, however, Tengu was still completely fine, at the last moment, he had moved out of the range of Kiyomi’s attack making her frown, ‘Once again?’ but she wasn’t going to give up and again attacked Tengu, but the same scene continued to repeat itself, no matter how much Kiyomi attacked, he was able to easily dodge all her attacks, no, not only was he able to dodge those attacks, he was also able to make sure that Neji, Naruto, and Lee remained where they were.
Seeing that they were going nowhere, Neji said, “I am going to help her, you too take that chance…”
Lee shook his head, “No, Neji-san, you and Naruto take that chance, I will help her stop this guy!” Then without waiting for Neji’s reply, he activated the Gate of Pain and shot at Tengu at an incredible speed.
While all of Lee’s attacks were also easily dodged by Tengu, and even though both he and Kiyomi working together weren’t able to touch him, they were able to provide that brief window Neji and Naruto needed to make a break and rushed past Tengu while resisting the rain of pointed feathers.
