Noting Sasuke, Naruto, Mika, and the three Genins of Team Guy standing on the heads of four equally large Giant Summons and looking down at him, Orochimaru grinned and licked his lips. He was neither nervous nor uneasy, rather, he was quite eager and greedy.

Uchiha Sasuke had easily dealt with Sakon, Ukon, and the others, and he also managed to resist Kimimaro for a while despite having been through a battle only moments ago. While Sasuke’s performance was not up to his standards, Orochimaru did not feel any problem with that as he was certain of correcting these issues while retraining Sasuke under his wing, therefore, he is quite eager to take away the boy from Konoha.

‘On that note, perhaps I can even implant Sasuke with the improved version of the cursed Seal of Heaven, desire for power that nobody in Konoha can grant him ought to bring the boy to me…’ thought Orochimaru while looking at the young Uchiha.

While Raijin had somewhat different thoughts, he was also looking at the young Uchiha with a faint smile beneath his mask.

Since neither Orochimaru nor Raijin were hiding their intention as they looked at the young Uchiha, Sasuke was further annoyed. He gritted his teeth, and roared, “Damn you lot… over and over and over and over, you mock me as though I am some circus attraction, do you think I am a fool? If you think so, then you are sorely mistaken, wounded, and weakened I might be, I am still a Uchiha, and as an Uchiha, I am going to teach you people not to look down upon us!”

The repeated setbacks against Otogakure ninjas, failure to achieve his intended purpose for the second phase of the Joint Chūnin Promotion Exam, and having to rely on other’s help to save his hide had already soured his mood, and on top of that, the surprise attack of Kusagakure’s Kunoichi a few moments ago has infuriated to the point of exploding in anger.

But the thing is, neither Raijin nor Orochimaru cared about Sasuke’s anger, rather, they were still casually mocking him. The Kusagakure Kunoichi glanced at the Amegakure’s Lightning Style Ninja while licking her tongue, “It seems we are in big trouble…”

“He’s just a brat who still doesn’t realize the situation he is in… what can he do?” chuckled Raijin indifferently, and added, “It’s time for adults to teach him the cruelty of the Shinobi World, wouldn’t you say… Shiore-san, or perhaps I should call you…”

Raijin shook his head, “Hmm… forget it, there’s no point in doing that…” and said while pointing at Uchiha Sasuke, “For now, let’s focus on the Uchiha kid.”

Orochimaru did not shift his attention from Raijin. He wasn’t certain whether the Amegakure Genin was aware of his true identity, or he was simply shooting an arrow in the dark. He realized that he really couldn’t see through the boy, ‘Boy? No, his behavior, confidence, and manner of speaking are unlike a teenager, rather, it’s quite similar to that of a seasoned ninja who has been through various battles… perhaps there’s more to this Amegakure’s Genin(?). Is it possible that he is like me? Hmm, now that I think about it, it’s not impossible…’

Orochimaru had various thoughts running through his mind, but he also knew that he cannot waste too much time so he decided to curb his curiosity for the time being and following Raijin’s advice, decided to focus on the young Uchiha.

But he had to make sure of one thing, and questioned, “Your target is Uchiha Sasuke?”

“And here I thought that we would be forming a temporary alliance…” sighed Raijin, and asked, “Are we already beyond that?”

“It depends on your answer…” responded Orochimaru.

Raijin smiled, “I see…” Then his smile widened, and he spoke, “That’s right, Uchiha Sasuke is my plaything during the Chūnin Exams, don’t you dare think that you will be able to take him away while I am having my fun because if you do that, I don’t mind knocking at your doors, Shiore-san.”

Though Raijin’s true intention is to stimulate Sasuke, in a sense, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that Uchiha Sasuke is indeed a plaything for Raijin at the moment because he would be tormenting the young Uchiha psychologically, emotionally, and physically as that is necessary for the awakening of Sasuke’s Mangekyō Sharingan.

After answering Orochimaru’s question, Raijin posed a question of his own, “And what about you? You are also targeting the boy, right? Though I wonder, why?”

Raijin isn’t exactly certain of Orochimaru’s purpose behind targeting Sasuke. Initially, he thought that it ought to be Sasuke’s body, but now he has begun to doubt that possibility and thinks that perhaps that’s not the case, after all, Orochimaru already understands the consequences of extending his lifespan by seizing control of other’s body, so Raijin doesn’t think that he would be foolish enough to make the same mistake again, which means that there’s something else that Orochimaru wants, but what exactly that ‘something’ is, Raijin isn’t certain, and looked at the Kusagakure Kunoichi for an answer.

“It’s none of your concern… but I suppose there’s no harm in forming this temporary alliance, your purpose of having your fun while toying with the boy doesn’t seem to go against mine, for the time being at least,” answered Orochimaru.

“Is that so?” mumbled Raijin, somewhat surprised.

“That is certainly so…” nodded Orochimaru as he stretched out his tongue with a smile.

“Alright then, let’s go…” said Raijin with a smile.

During the entire conversation, neither Orochimaru nor Raijin were quiet, in fact, they were speaking loud enough that their words reached Sasuke’s ears as he tried to focus on their conversation. Seeing them casually talk with one another while completely ignoring him, and hearing the content of their conversation, Sasuke’s anger rose up by a level, “That’s it, I am done with you guys, die!” And threw several Shuriken at the two while weaving the hand signs, ‘Multiple Shuriken Shadow Clone Jutsu!’

“I told you; the boy is inexperienced and doesn’t understand the situation he is in…”

“How very true…”

Both Orochimaru and Raijin chuckled in unison, and then both of them made their move at the same time.

Orochimaru’s body suddenly deformed and elongated like a Snake, and with a swish sound, he pounced on Sasuke standing atop Gamabunta’s head.

Naturally, Raijin was not going to be outdone, and different from Orochimaru, he used the insight of Sharingan to carefully observe the trajectory of Shurikens coming towards him, then used those Shurikens as footholds to leap toward Sasuke. In fact, he did not need to use this kind of over-the-top method to approach Sasuke, but he did so either way in order to show the boy the difference between their abilities.

“Wha–?” Naturally, Sasuke and the other kids were takenaback. This is the first time they have seen someone using flying Shuriken as a foothold, that to Shuriken thrown by the enemy!

“Garaga!” shouted Naruto.

“You don’t need to tell me, Naruto!” roared Garaga and spewed out petrification poison at the incoming ninjas.

Strangely enough, the petrification poison completely ignored Orochimaru as it went by his side without touching him at all and attacked Raijin, leaving him with no other but to retreat back to his original position.

‘Hehe, Uchiha Sasuke is mine!’ grinned Orochimaru as he noticed Raijin retreating because of Garaga’s petrification poison.

He wasn’t so surprised by this turn of events, in fact, he had slightly expected this result. After all, the body he is currently using is that of Kabuto, he has only stolen Shiore’s face to assume her identity for the duration of the Chūnin Promotion Exam. Because Kabuto practices the Sennin Mode of Ryūchi Cave, there is some kind of affinity between Garaga and Kabuto, both of whom have a connection to the Ryūchi Cave. For this reason, Garaga, cold as a snake he may be, did not attack him immediately, rather, he targeted Raijin who doesn’t seem to have anything to do with Ryūchi Cave.

Even if he agreed to ‘cooperate’ for the time being, it doesn’t mean he would actually cooperate.

However, just as Orochimaru arched the corner of his lips in a mocking smirk as he saw himself getting closer to Uchiha Sasuke, suddenly, a huge suction force started to affect him and violently pulled him away from the young Uchiha.

Orochimaru was startled and tried to regain control of the direction of his movement, but the suction force was too much, and he barely managed to turn his head to see the source of the suction force. It was the Giant Boar standing opposite the Giant Toad, and surprisingly the suction force acted only on him, not on Raijin.

Orochimaru’s sure whether the Giant Boar’s attack was affected only because Raijin wasn’t in range of the attack, or the giant boar simply ignored the Amegakure Genin just like Garaga ignored him, but he couldn’t care about it too much as he was pulled away and just when he thought that he was about to be swallowed by the Giant Boar, the suction force suddenly stopped as the Boar had closed his mouth and he unexpectedly fell to the ground, bang!

Wheh!

A gust of breeze blew by as the situation returned to what it was before Sasuke used his Ninjutsu.

The two people, who were about to attack Uchiha Sasuke were forced back to their original position, meanwhile, the four giant summons and their summoners on the back of those summons looked down upon the two ninjas from Kusagakure and Amegakure.

The situation became a bit embarrassing for Raijin and Orochimaru who were about to show Sasuke how naïve he is to think that he stands a chance, instead, the ones who were forced back were them.
