Chapter 734 Farming set
Chapter 734 Farming set
Darkwood absorbed every water it drank into its roots, which meant that he couldn’t recycle the water from the soil.
This was an inconvenience, but not something that would hinder the progress of the farm.
Now, there were a lot of ways to produce water. For example,
combusting a mixture of hydrogen and oxygen gas would produce a reaction that formed liquid water. There were even these things called Hydrogen Fuel Cells, which were being used in a space station.
However, all of those things were far too big to implement in this small space. A 10x10x10 feet room was just about enough space to grow one Darkwood.
The Isolated Space could be upgraded to become bigger, but he was first planning on creating a bigger farming area first if this Darkwood endeavor proved to be lucrative.
He wanted to prioritize planting as much Darkwood as possible, so leaving space to create a big contraption to automate water was out of the question for now.
Anyway, refilling the water wasn’t that much of a hassle. It would only take him a couple of minutes at most.
Next, I need to find a way to create heat and sunlight.
Just like with the water, Darkwood needed natural heat and light without any presence of artificial magic.
Producing sunlight was easy. He was just going to follow what greenhouses did in his previous world.
[Creating a suitable light source…]
A couple of seconds later, he was shown a blueprint of the new light fixtures at the top of the Isolated Space. It would be using the same electricity as the water sprinklers, which was the Unity Battery and
have a sensor and a timer that were specifically tuned to the Darkwoods needs according to the experiments.
Heat was also easy since he just needed a radiator that was connected to the Unity Battery.
Next is the wind. Darkwood needs sufficient airflow all around its trunk.
ChatJK5 designed a ventilation system all around the invisible walls of the Isolated Space, with fans pointed directly where the Darkwood would be growing.
And finally, the design phase was over. Now, he just needed to build the systems.
He quickly exited out of the Isolated Space by going back to the door where he came through.
Then, he directly teleported out of the Drone and into the Dwarven Forges in the Nation of Reborn.
He landed in the middle of a busy workday, with Dwarves carrying large metal blocks on their left and right shoulders.
“Boss! It’s been a while!”
“We haven’t seen you at the baseball games in a long time, boss!”
The Dwarves greeted him fondly while they hammered metal on their anvils. They were all quite busy given the state of affairs in the Nation of Reborn. Each day, there were new establishments and houses that needed to be built as more and more people chose to become citizens to their grand nation.
“Is there anyone free? I need some help with a project,” he yelled out.
Immediately, a lot of Dwarves dropped what they were doing and raised their hammers high in the air.
“Me boss!”
“I can help you!”
“Let me do it boss!”
Thanks to ChatJK5, he was able to assess each one of the Dwarves’ talents to see which would be the best man for the job.
He then waved his hand and manifested several blueprints in the air. Each one of them landed in a Dwarf whose talents coincided with the needs of the project.
They then quickly went to work, producing precisely forged metals in accordance with the blueprint ChatJK5 created.
While they were doing all the heavy work, he personally started the job on the internal circuitry needed on the electronics.
Thankfully, there were plenty of copper and other electrically conducive metals and alloys for him to create the needed circuits.
To be honest, he knew nothing about electrical work. But thanks to ChatJK5 giving him a step-by-step detailed instruction, he was able to finish the job properly in a few hours.
Once he returned to the Dwarves’ workshop, they had already finished the large metalwork that he requested.
There were numerous fan blades needed for the ventilation, the pipes
for the sprinkler systems, and the fixtures for the light bulbs.
After getting everything he needed, he immediately went back into the Drone carrying all the necessary equipment for the farm.
He then began setting up the systems on the Isolated Space by first installing the sprinklers on the soil.
The Darkwood would be growing in the very center of the room and would take up a 6×6 feet of area on the soil.
Surrounding it would be eight sprinklers, two positioned on the South, East, West, and North positions. Each of them were equipped with the automated sensors that he built with ChatJK5’s help.
Then, he connected the sprinklers to the pipes, which all led towards
a simple 5 gallon tank in the corner of the room.
After its installation, he started its test.
He manually turned on the sprinkler and saw a mist of water spraying towards the very center of the room.
Then, ChatJK5 began analyzing the amount of water that hit the very center of the room where the Darkwood was going to be planted.
[The total amount of water sprayed is sufficient.]
Next, he installed the fans on the walls around the room. This one
was fairly simple as all he had to do was fit all the pieces that the Dwarves worked on.
Then, he connected its wiring onto the small Unity Battery located
right next to the water tank.
Air started to flow as the fan blades rotated at a constant rate. Read full story at noveⅼfire.net
[Air flow has been confirmed to be satisfactory.]
Once that was done, he worked on the ceiling by installing the light fixtures that beamed down light onto the Darkwood.
He made sure to install a lot of lights so that it would cover basically
all the surface area of the Darkwood’s stems.
After that, he also installed the radiator which would regulate the
heat inside the Isolated Room.
Once he connected it all to the wiring, the bulbs started producing a
bright light.
He then stood in the middle of the room, taking in all the heat and light that was being produced.
[Heat and Light is performing as the blueprints intended.]
Of course, he wasn’t done after just a single test. He made sure to
rigorously push the systems he put in place to make sure that it wouldn’t make an error once he planted the Darkwood.
It took him an extra day of pure testing before he was finally satisfied
with the results.
Then, he spent another day outside of the Isolated Room to see if it would really stay at the same properties as he left it.
Thankfully enough, the Isolated Room lived up to its description. No
light, heat, or water was being leaked out of the space, leaving it all
inside.
It’s time for me to plant the Darkwood.
No amount of tests would suffice unless he actually tried it out with a
Darkwood.
He visited Sheina on her training session with the other Dragonborns
and asked her for a little favor.
He wanted a tiny, miniscule strand of Darkwood from her string.
This would be his starting seed.
