Chapter 1110: The Two Princesses
Chapter 1110: The Two Princesses
“Your struggle is futile,” Zeev said, pointing forward. The Devil Skull moved toward the Supreme Immortal disciples, humming with eerie intensity.
The humming continued to assault the souls of the Supreme Immortal Sect disciples who led the charge against the soul spirits.
As for Vanna and Princess Elowen, they stood at the back waiting for the right moment to attack. Soon, that moment came, and so Vanna made her move.
Vanna clenched her fists. “Elowen, now!”
The moment she said that, three flame runes appeared on her right arm, causing the entire arena to heat up.
“Futile,” Zeev smirked and formed a hand seal to unleash the soul attack using the Devil Skull as a weapon.
However, just when the eyes on the skull glowed red and were about to unleash the attack, Princess Elowen teleported close to it and formed a hand seal.
The moment the seal was completed, the sound of glass breaking filled the arena.
“Glass Domain.”
The space around the Devil Skull cracked, and hundreds of pentagon-shaped glasses formed around it. Soon, the Devil Skull was encased.
Zeev, who was in control of the Devil Skull, suddenly felt the connection between him and the skull severed.
Then, as if that wasn’t enough, the soul flag shuddered on its own when a beam of soul energy from the one-eyed demon spawn landed on it.
All seven remaining soul spirits were pulled out by Raizal’s soul attack.
“Glass Vortex.”
Smaller shards of glass formed into a vortex under Princess Elowen’s command, and the soul spirits in the air were pulled into it.
They tried to resist, even Zeev going so far as to command them to return to the soul flag. However, the pull was just too much. Once the last of them was pulled into the vortex, Princess Elowen made her move…
“Glass Chamber.”
Thick translucent glass formed around the skull she had sealed in the Glass Domain.
“This is your punishment for being shameless even in disciple combat,” Princess Elowen spoke coldly, looking not at Zeev but at the elders of the Blade Soul Sect.
Their expressions turned grim…
“Cold Flame.”
For the first time since the start of the competition, Princess Elowen finally used her Cold Flame. In an instant, the entire arena turned cold yet extremely hot.
The feeling instantly made the seven disciples from the Blade Soul Sect turn pale.
Princess Elowen moved closer to the Glass Chamber and pressed her flame against it.
“NOOOOOOO!” Zeev and some of the elders shouted; however, it was already too late…
“Refine,” Princess Elowen muttered coldly as her flame surged. In no time, the sound of howling souls could be heard. The skull was being refined, and the imprint left on it by the one who refined it was being erased.
Princess Elowen immediately turned pale from soul and energy exhaustion; however, she continued to refine her skills.
In under ten seconds, the howling stopped.
Princess Elowen waved her hand, and the Glass Chamber Domain shattered. Then she tapped the glass dome, and it shattered too.
A pale white bone with a hollow green eye socket was the only thing remaining. With a smile on her face, she grabbed it and tossed it to Raizal. “It is now yours.”
He fell from the air and was caught by Nyss…
She immediately walked her out of the arena, and Elaine quickly cast a healing spell on her.
“You should leave the arena for me,” Vanna said to the rest of her teammates. Of course, they would love to join her in the remaining battle, but they were in no shape to even consider that.
So, to not make things harder than they already were, they walked away…
“Be careful, Vanna. They are not weak,” Yurei said before walking away. She and Vanna were rivals, but when it came to fighting for their sect, they set aside their rivalry and gave it their all.
She and the rest managed to buy Princess Elowen time to activate the Glass Domain, which severed the connection between the Devil Skull and Zeev.
Now, it was seven against one, but Vanna didn’t seem to care.
She scanned her opponents with her fiery gaze before summoning a sword that immediately lit up in red flames.
“I am going to hurt you bastards.” Saying that, she moved, and the seven Blade Soul Sect disciples also moved. They had to either surrender or fight.
Vanna dashed forward, her sword blazing with red fire. The three flame runes on her hand were boosting her speed, stamina, and flame comprehension.
Lady Liora smiled, seeing her disciple use the technique she believed would be something she would depend on for the rest of her life.
The ground cracked under her feet as she launched herself into the first strike.
The nearest Blade Soul Sect disciple blocked with his soul spear, but the heat from her blade melted the metal. His weapon broke in half, and he was thrown back.
Blood seeped from the corner of his lips, showing he had been struck with a soul backlash.
Two others attacked from both sides, attempting to catch her off guard.
Vanna twisted her body and spun, her sword releasing a wave of red fire. The red flame rune enhanced her flame comprehension, pushing her Tier 9 flame to Tier 10.
The flames swallowed them, burning their robes and scorching their skin. They screamed and rolled away, trying to put out the fire.
However, Tier 10 against a core formation expert in a medium world is not as easy as it may seem.
“What a bunch of idiots. You think anyone in a medium world without a high flame resistance can withstand her flame attacks?” Lady Liora smirked, seeing this display as futile and aimless.
They had exhausted their energy thinking that they could use the Devil Skull to win.
Now, Vanna, who was at full strength and augmented by three flame runes from her Flame God Mercy technique, was having a field day with them.
A fourth disciple leaped into the air, holding two daggers covered in soul energy. He aimed for her neck and launched an attack.
Vanna raised her hand, and a wall of flame burst upward. The daggers coming for her melted before they reached her. Then she, with her right slender leg, kicked him in the chest, sending the poor bastard crashing into the ground.
The fifth disciple, Zeev, roared and charged, his weapon glowing with blue light.
Vanna parried the attack, sparks flying through the air.
Their swords clashed again and again, causing waves of both soul and flame energy to distort in the air. Suddenly, Vanna saw an opening, so she ducked low and slashed upward. The red fire cut through Zeev’s defense, and he was sent flying.
The last two circled her, their eyes filled with rage. One controlled wind, the other controlled shadow. They moved fast, disappearing and reappearing.
Vanna closed her eyes for a moment, feeling the heat rise from her sword. The flames on her blade turned from red to gold.
When she opened her eyes, her hair flowed in the wind like fire.
The wind disciple struck first. His attack came from behind, but Vanna vanished in a burst of flame. She reappeared behind him and slashed with her sword.
The attack connected, and his body hit the ground before he could react.
The shadow user screamed and attacked with darkness, trying to trap her. The black mist swallowed the arena floor.
But then a bright golden flame exploded, burning through the shadow.
Vanna walked out of the smoke, her sword dripping with molten heat. The last disciple stumbled back, terrified. The attacks all seven of them had used were their trump cards.
However, none managed to even shake her.
Obviously, they had no idea that Vanna was no longer a Core Formation cultivator. Thanks to the Flame Rune, she was akin to a Spirit Ascension stage warrior…
Of course, if they had attacked from the start when their soul energy was at its peak, they might have had some success in maybe defeating her.
Now, it was over for them.
“You should have surrendered,” Vanna said.
With one clean strike, her blade cut through the air, and the battle was over.
