Chapter 540 - 538: A Wisp of Aaron Sinclair’s Primordial Spirit Fell into the Mortal Realm

Chapter 540: Chapter 538: A Wisp of Aaron Sinclair’s Primordial Spirit Fell into the Mortal Realm

Celeste Grant moved closer to Javier Sinclair, her eyes fixed on the Mysterious Ancient Mirror in his hands. The Ancient Mirror was currently showing what had happened after the sliver of her son’s Primordial Spirit fell into Elyndra.

It was nighttime.

From the vault of heaven, a sliver of golden light shot straight down into the lands of Kelldorn. The moment the golden light touched the ground, it transformed into a newborn baby. The child, fair and clean, was wrapped in a swaddling cloth embroidered with cloud patterns in gold thread.

The swaddled child landed in the grass by the roadside. He wiggled his chubby little hands and let out a wail.

Celeste Grant watched the scene in the Ancient Mirror. The little baby that appeared looked just like her son when he was first born. The moment she saw her son, Celeste’s memories instantly flashed back to the time of his birth.

"Oh my gosh... Isn’t this just what Annie looked like as a child? I can’t believe a sliver of his Primordial Spirit turned him into a regular baby. Heh, but my son... he’s just so adorable." As she spoke, she glanced sideways at Javier Sinclair, who was sitting beside her.

She smiled and said, "I never thought I’d get to see what our son looked like as a baby again, Archfiend. Look at his chubby little face and hands! He’s just too adorable."

Looking at her son’s appearance in the Ancient Mirror, Celeste Grant’s memories seemed to flash back once more to when he was first born.

At this thought, she smiled faintly, her eyes gentle.

Just as she was speaking, a rune began to gently swirl around her son’s body. Once the rune sank into him, his bloodline’s power was completely sealed. Now, he was just an ordinary person.

She glanced at Javier Sinclair and asked softly, "Husband, what do you make of that rune?"

Javier Sinclair spoke up. "It’s related to the Array in the Ice Coffin. Refining Heart is also a method of refining the primordial spirit."

"Oh, so that’s how it is."

Celeste Grant nodded slightly.

She whispered, "Let’s see what happens first."

But the more she watched the developments in the Ancient Mirror, the more wrong things felt. It felt like a trashy, melodramatic novel she had once skimmed through was now waving at her. A huge tidal wave of clichés. So melodrama really could come from...

Her son was picked up and taken in, becoming the "fake" young master of Kelldorn’s General’s Mansion. But they hadn’t taken her son in out of kindness; they had ulterior motives from the very beginning.

They were being pursued by assassins on the road and originally wanted to find a child of a similar age as a substitute. They planned to swap out their biological son and send him away secretly. That way, if the fake one was caught and died, so be it.

And just like that, their wish was granted. They happened to find her son, Aaron Sinclair, on the road, the perfect person to take their biological son’s place and ward off disaster.

The assassins eventually passed, and while it was a close call, her son didn’t meet with any mishap. Instead, it was their own biological son who ended up missing.

Because of this, the people of the General’s Mansion actually blamed her son for it. They thought he was a jinx, that his appearance had caused their own son’s misfortune. So they either beat or cursed him, showing him nothing but neglect.

For all these years, he never had enough food to eat or warm clothes to wear.

Celeste Grant’s heart ached.

That was her son.

She had known nothing of what he had suffered all these years. Who would have ever thought that a sliver of her perfectly fine son’s Primordial Spirit would fall into Elyndra? If she had known, she would have gone to find him long ago.

Under such treatment, the young child thought his mom and dad simply didn’t like him. Sometimes he even wondered if he had done something wrong. It wasn’t until he was eight years old, when the General’s Mansion found and brought back their biological son, that he finally learned he wasn’t their real child.

Fearing that this substitute would compete with their real son for the family inheritance, the General’s Mansion threw him out. To save face, the General’s Mansion put on a show, even giving her son a sum of Silver to help him settle down. In reality, they secretly sent people to kill him and silence him forever, wanting to eliminate any future trouble.

In just a few short days, her son had jumped from a boat and rolled off a carriage to escape into a downpour.

The eight-year-old boy, facing such persecution, had somehow managed to survive his attackers, escaping with only minor injuries. In fact, it was the very people sent to kill him who had been trapped and buried in a mudslide.

This was why Celeste Grant had previously seen her son in the Ancient Mirror dressed in tattered rags. He was in the middle of a desperate escape from those trying to harm him.

As a mother, who could stand to see their son so abused and persecuted?

"Fuck..."

The more she watched, the darker her expression became.

Celeste Grant clenched her fists and sneered. "Damn it... They just had to pull a ’switched at birth’ plot on me? What kind of trashy storyline dares to interfere with my son’s destiny?"

The thought of her son’s suffering made her eyes redden slightly. ’My poor baby. Without his Cultivation or his memories, he has to live as an ordinary child. How difficult must it be for him?’

’Even if it’s just a sliver of my son’s Primordial Spirit sent to Elyndra for Cultivation, he’s not someone for others to bully.’

"Is this experience also part of his Cultivation and refining his primordial spirit? I refuse. I absolutely refuse. This trashy, intrusive plot has to go. Even if a sliver of his Primordial Spirit is in the mortal world to experience life, my son should have gotten the script for a male-oriented power fantasy!"

"Baby, wait for Mommy. Mommy’s coming to protect you."

Javier Sinclair handed her the Mysterious Ancient Mirror.

"You’re right, my wife. For them to dare abuse my son like this... they deserve to die."

Though he spoke in a calm tone, the world trembled as his words fell. His eyes looked as if they could suck the very void into them.

Although Celeste Grant was furious, she was still relatively calm and considered the bigger picture.

Javier Sinclair was The Demon God; he could reshape heaven and earth with a single thought. The Mortal Realm couldn’t withstand even a moment of his anger. If The Demon God were to truly get angry, all three realms would tremble.

"The beings in Elyndra are innocent. Calm down."

Hearing this, Javier Sinclair closed his eyes and retracted his terrifying aura. When he opened them again, his presence was once again peaceful.

"Rest assured, my wife."

"Every injustice has its perpetrator, and every debt has its debtor. I know who to hold responsible..." Here, his tone paused slightly before he added very softly, "Anyone who dares to touch my son... I won’t even grant them a grave."

Thinking of her son, who was still suffering, she put away the Mysterious Ancient Mirror. "I can’t bear to leave our son there alone. Husband, let’s go to the Lower Realm to find him. I won’t be at ease until I see him with my own eyes. If something happens to that sliver of his Primordial Spirit and it can’t return to his main body, his Primordial Spirit will be severely damaged."

Javier Sinclair nodded slightly.

"Mm, alright."

He agreed, saying, "Since that sliver of our son’s Primordial Spirit has gone to Elyndra, we should let him stay there and cultivate properly. When the time is right, that separated piece of his Primordial Spirit will be able to return to his main body. His main body is currently slumbering in the Ice Coffin, so this kind of Cultivation is beneficial for him."

Celeste Grant nodded slightly.

"Let’s go now."

Javier Sinclair had no objections.

As a father, how could he sit still while his son was being bullied? His feelings were the same as Celeste Grant’s.
