Perfect Villain Life: Universal Job Change

Chapter 290: Fickle Wrath

Chapter 290: Fickle Wrath

“Elia, we don’t have any more time. You know this better than I do.” Inside the mansion, Rosha frowned as he faced Elia.

Since the day they’d met, she had never opposed any of his decisions—her support had always been wholehearted and unwavering. But this time, upon hearing about Rosha’s new plan, Elia had uncharacteristically and vehemently objected.

Elia frowned tightly, shaking her head. “Rosha, you still don’t understand how terrifying the Void truly is. If we launch this offensive and suffer a complete defeat, Hydra will be finished. And…” she fixed her eyes on Rosha, her tone low and serious.

“That man Soren… I don’t trust him. If he joins this mission to destroy the Void’s spawning pool, and he harbors ulterior motives, then you’re all in danger. Rosha, I can’t lose you.”

Hearing her bring up Soren again, Rosha’s brow furrowed even deeper. Honestly, while he trusted Elia, he couldn’t see anything suspicious about Soren.

The man was powerful, a bona fide demigod of the Holy Light. Arrogant? Sure.

But that wasn’t a crime. Truth be told, even with all their flaws, Rosha had been willing to trust the Holy Spear Family. It made no sense to suddenly distrust Soren—especially based on Elia’s vague instincts.

Rosha sighed. “Elia, I’ve never seen anything wrong with him. And if Soren truly had ill intent, would he be acting so publicly? He almost fought Modric today. If I hadn’t stepped in, they’d have clashed right there. Does that sound like someone working from the shadows?”

Elia fell silent. Rosha had a point. If Soren were hiding something, his behavior certainly didn’t follow any normal patterns. She stayed quiet, wrestling with her own doubts.

Seeing her expression, Rosha thought for a moment. “Tonight, I’ll invite Soren to dinner. I’ll test him again. If he passes, we need to stop chasing shadows. Elia, we don’t have the luxury of hesitation anymore.”

She nodded slowly.

Meanwhile, back at Qin Xian’s estate, the study was cloaked in a magical barrier, shielding it from any prying eyes or senses. Alone inside, Qin Xian dropped his disguise and revealed his true form—Void Overlord.

The holy aura was gone, replaced by a twisted, corrupt power that warped the air around him. In front of him, a spatial anchor shimmered into existence. The space rippled, and through it emerged a corrupted image of the Blood Legion’s command center.

“Liliane greets His Highness,” the blood witch said immediately, bowing deeply. Behind her, a host of Void Lords also dropped to their knees.

These beings—feared and infamous across the Hydra world—acted like docile kittens before Qin Xian.

“Hydra has decided to form a united army and go on the offensive,” Qin Xian said flatly.

Before he even finished speaking, one of the Void generals let out a twisted grin. “These worms are courting death! As long as they hid in the Hope Continent under the protection of world origin power, we found them troublesome. But now that they’re coming to us, the Blood Legion will rip them apart!”

A chill passed through the command center.

“You dare interrupt me?” Qin Xian’s voice was calm, but the temperature in the room seemed to drop by ten thousand degrees. The Void general froze in panic, immediately lowering his head.

“Your Highness, I spoke out of turn. I meant no offense—please, I—argh!”

Before he could finish his plea, his body melted into a puddle of blood, gone without a trace. This Void general had once slain countless Hydra warriors, a powerful veteran of the war, and yet a single misplaced word had sealed his fate.

The other Void lords dropped even lower, not daring to breathe. They were powerful, yes—but this was the Empress’s son.

Unpredictable, absolute in power, and frighteningly similar to his mother. Cruel. Merciless. Fickle. Liliane stepped forward, her voice steady. “Your Highness, please punish us as you see fit.”

Qin Xian glanced at her and spoke coldly. “When the united army of Hydra sets out, do not rush to destroy them.”

Then, without another word, he closed the portal.

Behind him, the Void lords looked at one another, confused. Why delay their slaughter? Was this some sort of game? Only Liliane remained composed. Whatever His Highness commanded—they would obey.
