Perfect Villain Life: Universal Job Change

Chapter 265: The Dragon Knight

Chapter 265: The Dragon Knight

Lia looked at the middle-aged man before her and smiled softly. “Father, I’m home.”

The man had a noble bearing, handsome features, and a powerful aura of magic enveloping him. This was Anthony, Patriarch of the Windsor Family—a legendary 9-star mage and one of the few remaining Grand Magisters in Hydra.

Anthony gazed at his long-absent daughter and gave a firm nod. His voice was deep and steady. “It’s good that you’re back. I trust you’ve had enough of freedom these past few years?”

Then his eyes turned to Qin Xian. “And this is?”

“He’s Soren. He saved my life from a Void Marshal. Without him, I wouldn’t have made it back,” Lia quickly explained.

At those words, Anthony’s gaze softened, and he gave Qin Xian a grateful smile. “Thank you, Soren. From this day forward, you are a guest of honor in the Windsor Family.”

Qin Xian, in turn, was studying Anthony with interest

This 9-star legendary mage felt to him roughly equivalent to a level-80 powerhouse in the human world—a truly formidable figure. In Blue Star, such strength would place someone near the very top.

So Hydra really does have some capable individuals, Qin Xian thought. For the first time since arriving, his relaxed attitude began to shift into something more serious.

In the days that followed, Qin Xian stayed at the Windsor estate, fully immersing himself in its grandeur. As expected of a top-tier magical clan, the Windsor family was vast.

There were hundreds of direct members carrying the Windsor name, and with retainers, apprentices, and staff, the number of residents in the castle reached into the thousands—all of them skilled mages.

Beyond Anthony, the family still retained three 8-star Archmages and over a dozen 7-star spellcasters—that’s just what was shown publicly. The estate itself was surrounded by mage towers and towns that formed an arcane city-state in all but name.

With such strength, it was no wonder the Windsors were regarded as a premier force in Hydra.

But what intrigued Qin Xian most was their connection to Rosha. From the very beginning of Rosha’s rise, the Windsors had been among his staunchest allies. Now, everyone in Hydra knew the bond between the hero and the Windsors was unshakable.

Qin Xian subtly expressed his “admiration” for Rosha, which delighted Anthony. He informed Qin Xian that in two weeks, the Grand Assembly of Hydra would convene, and the Windsor Family would be attending. There, Qin Xian would have the chance to meet the Hero in person.

Over these few days, the Windsor Family quickly warmed to the mysterious Oracle Knight. With his noble bearing, flawless looks, and extraordinary power—all wrapped in humility—Soren quickly became a favorite. Many elders even quietly whispered that he might already be stronger than Rosha had been at the same age.

“Soren, we’re preparing to visit the Origin Grounds. Father asked me to invite you along,” Lia said cheerfully.

Now dressed in elegant noble garb, she looked radiant—like a lark dancing in the morning light. But to Qin Xian, it was just another pretty face.

She was beautiful, no doubt. But he’d long become immune to beauty. Whether it was Su Keqing in the human world, the aristocratic Yin family heiress, the Abyssal Queen, or Alwen in the Void Realm—Qin Xian had seen enough peerless beauties to last a dozen lifetimes.

He smiled gently. “Thank you, Lia.”

That one smile—so gentle, so affectionate—made Lia’s heart flutter madly.

As the two walked side by side through the estate, many young Windsor scions greeted them with admiration. To them, Soren was the very embodiment of knighthood—humble, faithful, powerful. And more than that, his class said it all: Oracle Knight.

After all, someone wielding the power of the Holy Light could not possibly be evil.

Suddenly, a tremendous dragon’s roar echoed through the sky above Windsor’s Domain.

A terrifying wave of draconic might surged down. The earth trembled as a massive frost dragon descended from the clouds.

Its crystalline scales shimmered like pure ice, refracting light into a dazzling array of colors. Its sapphire eyes blazed with dangerous heat, and with every flap of its vast wings, the air howled as if the sky itself might split.

Riding atop the dragon was a young man with golden hair, a long sword etched with dragon runes in hand. A scale-studded hilt gleamed in the sun. His presence exuded noble pride and feral might—equal parts king and warrior.

Lia’s expression immediately soured.

This was Zahl Saint-Spear, a direct descendant of the legendary dragon-blooded Saint-Spear family, and her betrothed.

His voice rang out arrogantly across the skies, completely ignoring the solemnity of the Windsor Domain.

“Lia has returned? And yet the Windsor Family saw no need to notify me? Does this mean the Windsors no longer respect the engagement… or is it the Saint-Spear Family you now choose to insult?”
