Perfect Villain Life: Universal Job Change

Chapter 255: Invasion of a World

Chapter 255: Invasion of a World

The Khorne Overlord cast a deep glance at Qin Xian before turning away, his towering, fearsome form vanishing. As for Goethe’s death, he felt nothing. What a joke—he didn’t even care when his own children died, let alone a mere Chosen Champion like Goethe.

here were far too many Chosen Champions under him, and Goethe was just one among many. Besides, it had been Goethe who challenged Qin Xian and brought about his own demise.

With the World-End Banquet concluded, Qin Xian followed the Void Empress back to the First Royal Court. Along the way, Delkru kept casting strange looks at Qin Xian. He had been tempted to ask just how Qin Xian had learned his Shadow Prison.

But though his heart burned with curiosity, he dared not ask. In the void, every Void Lord’s abilities were unique and impossible to replicate. To question how someone acquired your skill could be seen as probing into their secrets—and even with Delkru’s seniority, that would be enough to doom him.

Life in the void was uneventful, completely undisturbed. But that was only natural. As the little prince of the First Royal Court and the favored child of the Void Empress, there wasn’t a single being in the entire void who dared defy Qin Xian’s will.

During their return to the court, a piece of news suddenly reached the Void Empress and instantly triggered her displeasure. The atmosphere aboard the starship became stifling to the extreme.

From Alwen, Qin Xian learned the details.

The First Royal Court had suffered a massive setback while attempting to invade a world called Hydra. Hydra was a flourishing world of fantasy and magic, where gods and various races coexisted.

About two hundred years ago, the First Royal Court had set its sights on Hydra. The world’s Origin was immensely powerful—even the Void Empress coveted it. Naturally, war broke out.

At the start of the war, Hydra’s resistance was easily crushed. Void rifts tore through the once-peaceful lands as the First Royal Court’s endless void legions poured in to conquer.

Though the races of Hydra quickly united and fought back, they were still forced into retreat, with one-third of the world’s territory falling to void corruption.

The war had raged for two centuries—long, but not unusual for a war of annihilation. The First Royal Court had launched invasions on many worlds simultaneously. Weaker worlds often fell in just months or years, while stronger ones could resist for centuries. Ultimately, however, they were all devoured by the void. Across countless eras, only Blue Star had ever truly resisted void invasion.

Originally, Hydra was following that same path of decline. But a few years ago, the tide suddenly turned.

A “Hero” had appeared in Hydra, a being who received the blessing of the world’s Origin. Under his command, Hydra refused to fall, and even mounted a successful defense against the void army. Not only that, he had slain four Void Lords in succession.

That was what infuriated the Void Empress.

While Void Lords were nothing more than ants to her, the deaths of several in a row hinted that something unusual was occurring within Hydra.

Until now, only the data-empowered humans of Blue Star had managed to slay Void Lords. In all other worlds, Void Lords were the ceiling of combat strength. This reversal in Hydra shook her mood.

The strength of Hydra’s World Origin ranked among the highest in the universe. But now, the situation was shifting in unforeseen ways. While the Void Empress could have descended personally via her will, the problem was her presence was too catastrophic. If she descended, the world itself would fall into silence and oblivion.

The Origin would be destroyed. And if that happened, the fate of the world would no longer matter—it would be broken beyond recovery.

But Qin Xian’s reaction to the news was one of interest.

A Hero from another world?

Qin Xian’s curiosity was piqued. He smiled lightly and said, “Take me to see Mother.”

At the heart of the Death Starship, the figure of the Void Empress loomed terrifyingly, shrouded in the endless stillness of death. Delkru, Sindra, and the other Void Lords of the First Royal Court were prostrated on the ground, not daring to breathe beneath her cold displeasure.

“The First Royal Court has devoured so many worlds, and apart from Blue Star, Hydra has caused the most damage. Who was responsible for the invasion of Hydra?”

At her words, one figure kneeling on the ground began to tremble.

A seductive and wicked female god’s face filled with despair. Still, she forced herself to speak through trembling lips. “Your Majesty, I was in charge.”

The [Bloodstained Marchioness] Vilder, a Void Lord of the First Royal Court and commander of the Blood Legion, had destroyed countless worlds under her command. Hydra was one of the targets assigned to the Blood Legion.

Looking at Vilder’s hopeless expression, the Void Empress’s gaze remained indifferent. “It seems you are no longer fit to lead the Blood Legion…”

A deep and oppressive killing intent instantly enveloped the entire throne hall.

“Your Majesty…” Even the infamous and cruel Vilder could not utter a plea for mercy.

But just at that moment, the great doors of the hall were suddenly thrown open.

“Mother, I have a proposal.”
