Peerless Medical Emperor

Chapter 220: Fulfilling the Wish Together

Chen Qingdi smiled awkwardly and said, "I know. I just... I just hope she can fulfill Ye Shi Yi’s wish."

Yang Shuhua gently patted Ye Shiqi’s shoulder. "Don’t worry," she said. "We’ll fulfill this wish together."

As time passed, Ye Shiqi and Chen Qingdi’s relationship underwent a subtle change.

They began to talk more often, and their conversations grew deeper. Ye Shiqi realized she was gradually developing feelings for Chen Qingdi, while he, in turn, became more attentive and caring toward her.

One night, Ye Shiqi was working late in the office by herself. Suddenly, she felt a hand on her shoulder.

Startled, she was about to turn and see who it was when she heard a familiar voice say, "It’s me."

It was Chen Qingdi. A gentle light flickered in his eyes as he said softly, "Still working this late? Don’t push yourself so hard. You should go home and get some rest."

As the only son of the Jinghai Chen Family, Chen Qingdi had always been his family’s pride. His martial prowess was extraordinary, making him a standout among the younger generation.

Recently, however, he had discovered his Power was gradually fading, as if he were becoming an ordinary person, utterly powerless.

"How are you doing, boss?" Chen Qingdi’s good friend, Chen Yuan, asked with concern. They had grown up together, and Chen Yuan was the person Chen Qingdi trusted most.

"I don’t know," Chen Qingdi said with a bitter smile. "Whether I take my own pulse or get a check-up at the hospital, the results all say there’s nothing wrong. But I can just feel that something isn’t right."

"Could someone have secretly done something to you? We should look into this," Chen Yuan speculated.

"I don’t know. But if that’s the case, I suspect it’s someone from within the Jinghai Chen Family," Chen Qingdi mused.

"I’ve been investigating enemies hidden within the family recently. It seems this one is buried deep."

"Try not to worry. I’ll help you investigate," Chen Yuan said. "I’ll also tighten your security."

That night, as Chen Qingdi and Chen Yuan were discussing matters in the meeting hall at home, several men in black suddenly burst in.

"Assassins!" Chen Yuan roared, immediately lunging into battle with them.

Chen Qingdi tried to help, but the attackers had come prepared. They coordinated flawlessly, and he was quickly subdued. He was then thrown into a basement, where he suffered endless humiliation and brutal beatings.

"Who are you people? Why did you kidnap me?" Chen Qingdi asked, gritting his teeth through the pain.

"You don’t need to know who we are," one of them sneered. "All you need to know is that you’re worthless now."

Chen Qingdi was seething with rage, but he knew he couldn’t make a reckless move.

"I’ll ask one more time. Who are you?" Chen Qingdi demanded angrily.

His only answer was a cold laugh. One of the men in black stepped forward and kicked him viciously. "The heir of the Jinghai Chen Family, now just a worthless piece of trash!"

Locked in the basement, Chen Qingdi was subjected to all kinds of torture every day. They denied him food, water, and even sleep.

Before long, his mind was on the verge of shattering, and he felt death was not far off.

"Who are you? Why are you doing this to me?" Chen Qingdi asked again. He barely had the strength left to speak.

Again, he was met with a cold laugh. "Who we are doesn’t matter. What matters is that we have you. Your family is in decline, and now, you’re just our plaything."

The words cut into Chen Qingdi’s heart like a knife. He had always believed he was his family’s pride, but now he had become their shame. He felt utterly worthless.

Chen Qingdi felt as if he were in a giant vortex, surrounded by pitch-black darkness, completely alone.

He struggled to recall and realized he had been imprisoned here for three days. For three days, he had been bound in the basement, deprived of sunlight and sound, left with only endless darkness and solitude.

Suddenly, the basement door opened, and a man in black entered. He was tall and expressionless, and his eyes, as he looked at Chen Qingdi, were filled with cold cruelty.

"Who are you?" Chen Qingdi asked weakly.

"I was sent by the Evil God Sect," the man in black replied coldly. "Chen Qingdi, you were a formidable man, but now you’re useless. You have caused us immense harm, so now we will have our revenge."

A jolt of alarm shot through Chen Qingdi. He knew he had provoked an enemy he should have never crossed. He forced himself to remain calm. "Is your only goal to torture me?" he asked.

The man in black nodded. "Yes. But we’re not going to kill you. We’re going to make you wish you were dead."

Chen Qingdi felt as if his heart had stopped beating. His own body felt alien to him.

He looked up at the man in black. "You won’t get what you want," he said. "I’d rather die than let you have your way."

The man in black sneered. "You think dying will be that easy? We’re going to make you beg for a death that will never come."

Chen Qingdi felt as if his heart had crumbled to dust, and his body once again felt like it didn’t belong to him.

Fighting to stay clear-headed, he asked, "What do you want?"

"We want you to leave a hand," the man in black said. "Leave a hand, and you can walk out of here."

Chen Qingdi’s heart jolted. He knew it was a trap. After a moment’s thought, he said, "Bullshit. I’d rather take your lives."

The man in black seemed surprised. A hint of confusion appeared in his eyes as he stared at Chen Qingdi.

「Two days later.」 The Ten Great War Gods learned of the situation. They resolved to rescue Chen Qingdi and destroy the Evil God Sect.

They arrived at the secret hideout, only to find it deserted. They realized they were too late—their quarry had already escaped with Chen Qingdi.

The Ten Great War Gods resolved to continue the chase. Using every means and channel at their disposal, they finally discovered the location of the Evil God Sect’s headquarters.

They moved swiftly, surrounding the Evil God Sect’s headquarters.

On a deserted island, the sea breeze carried the salty scent of the ocean, mingling with an endless quiet.

Chen Qingdi was no longer the mighty Medical God Island Master whose name struck awe everywhere, but an ordinary man, his Power completely gone, brought to this desolate place by the men in black from the Evil God Sect.

He stood on a dilapidated boat, his gaze filled with resolve and wisdom. Though his body was exhausted, his spirit remained unbroken.

His gaze was now fixed on the woman at the ship’s bow. She wore a tight, black suit, her face expressionless, looking like the very embodiment of night.
