Peerless Medical Emperor

Chapter 218: Top-level Douluo? A Joke

Just then, as the two women stood on that floor, a bullet suddenly tore through the air.

Ye Shiqi sneered. "This woman doesn’t know what’s good for her. She actually has accomplices lying in ambush!"

Yang Shuhua was also taken aback. She insisted, "I’m acting alone! I don’t have any accomplices!"

At that moment, the entire wall began to shake violently. A massive excavator bucket smashed through an abandoned window!

The two moved with lightning speed, rolling into a nearby corner. The massive bucket clawed at the balcony wall and, with a powerful tug, tore half of it down.

Then, as if it had a mind of its own, the bucket swung back toward the two women.

Ye Shiqi shot Yang Shuhua a look of utter disdain.

"You’re such a pain!"

Despite her harsh words, she was kind at heart. She used her silk scarf to secure Yang Shuhua to her back.

She quickly burst through the door and dashed for the stairs.

Yang Shuhua found this incredibly strange. She said with a sneer,

"I never thought a cold-blooded killer would actually save someone!"

Suddenly, Ye Shiqi felt the floor tremble. Just as they reached the stairwell landing, she spotted a ventilation window. The glass and aluminum frame had already been removed, leaving only an empty opening. Without a second thought, she climbed onto the windowsill. A moment later, with a deafening CRACK, the excavator slammed into the floor above them, causing the entire section to collapse.

"You sons of bitches! Are you even giving us a fighting chance?!"

Ye Shiqi cursed out loud in fury.

Yang Shuhua, however, berated her from her back.

"You crazy woman! A fight’s a fight, but why did you have to use a poisoned needle on me? Do you think I’d be such a burden otherwise?"

Ye Shiqi sneered. "I’m not you. Would I have done that if you hadn’t pointed a gun at my head? If I were truly a cold-blooded killer, I would have snatched your gun and killed you the moment the poison took effect!"

Yang Shuhua was incredibly stubborn.

’I should be grateful. She didn’t take my gun, and she even carried me out. I’ll report this truthfully. It should help reduce her sentence.’

Just then, the entire building began to shake. They had no idea what the enemy was doing.

"Crazy woman, looks like we’re going to die together this time. Any regrets?"

When the topic of death came up, Ye Shiqi was remarkably calm, as if it were as mundane as eating or drinking.

But unexpectedly, Yang Shuhua said something quite sentimental.

"I’m only twenty-two and I’ve never even had a boyfriend... If I die like this, will the Grim Reaper laugh at me on the other side?"

As a proper assassin, Ye Shiqi had no patience for such pointless questions.

"I have no idea how someone as naive as you got this job. Hmph!"

"How am I naive? I had you on the ropes when I was chasing you, didn’t I?"

"An attitude like that on the battlefield would just make you cannon fodder!"

The building’s frame was shaking violently. If Ye Shiqi hadn’t desperately clung to a nearby wall, they both would have fallen long ago.

Just as despair set in, they heard the roar of an engine overhead. A helicopter was approaching, flying closer and closer.

The helicopter’s window opened, and someone inside made a few hand signals to them.

The moment they saw it was Chen Qingdi, the two women finally relaxed.

While both had had their share of unpleasant run-ins with Chen Qingdi, those experiences were merely irritating, never life-threatening.

Chen Qingdi’s signal was clear: ignore everything else and jump!

Ye Shiqi was about to give him the middle finger when she noticed a rope ladder dangling from the helicopter. As the chopper drew near, the wind pushed the ladder closer, at one point bringing it just a body’s length away. Without hesitation, Ye Shiqi leaped.

"You reckless girl, what do you think you’re doing!"

Yang Shuhua was sure they were about to fall to their deaths. If she were alone, she would have screamed, but she refused to let Ye Shiqi see her panic. So she swallowed her terror.

In a desperate lunge, Ye Shiqi caught the rope ladder. It immediately began retracting into the helicopter.

When they reached the helicopter’s open door, Chen Qingdi was squatting there. He reached down and pulled them both inside.

The moment she saw Chen Qingdi’s smug, punchable face, Ye Shiqi’s mood soured.

"You’re a despicable man. Why did you send people to attack us?"

Chen Qingdi sneered. "You really are hopelessly stupid. Fine, I’ll show you exactly who was attacking you!"

The helicopter ascended, circling around the crumbling building to face it from the front.

There, in a window of the adjacent building directly opposite them, stood a sniper. Recognizing his stance, Ye Shiqi gasped.

"That’s Thunderbolt! The tenth-ranked sniper on the Dark List!"

Without a word, Chen Qingdi grabbed a sniper rifle from a nearby bodyguard, aimed at the man called Thunderbolt, and fired.

The man had only just peeked out. Before he could even take a shot, Chen Qingdi’s bullet found its mark—a clean headshot.

"Proof that I wasn’t the one sniping you. It was your own associates from the Evil God Sect!"

Seeing Ye Shiqi’s frustration, Yang Shuhua felt a secret sense of satisfaction.

’That reckless girl was mocking me relentlessly just now. I guess there’s always a bigger fish. Finally, someone who can put her in her place!’

Then, her eyes fell on the excavator operator who was still tearing down the building. With a grim expression, Ye Shiqi turned to Chen Qingdi.

"Let me borrow your sniper rifle. The guy driving the excavator is also an assassin. He calls himself the one who ’Tramples the Douluo Realm,’ the Top-level Douluo, Tang Er!"

Chen Qingdi paused. "What does a Top-level Douluo have to do with driving an excavator?"

"The great Divine King Tang San once established that a master at the Divine King Level could generate a hundred tons of force with a single wave of their hand. That excavator’s output is probably around a hundred tons, right? Isn’t that worthy of a Top-level Douluo?"

Chen Qingdi nodded. "So if we blow that guy’s head off, does that make us the Kings of Divine Kings?"

With that, he tossed the sniper rifle to Ye Shiqi.

"She’s an assassin! It’s dangerous!"

But Chen Qingdi didn’t seem to care. He watched as Ye Shiqi handled the weapon with expert familiarity. In no time, the helicopter was in the perfect position. She squeezed the trigger.

BANG! The Top-level Douluo was taken out with a headshot.

Its job of demolishing the building and burying its occupants unfinished, the now-unmanned excavator shuddered to a halt.

Chen Qingdi immediately called his base, ordering his people to come clean up the two bodies and run a check on their identities.
