Chapter 605: Assist Thanos?

Kizaru was bored out of his mind, pinching the damaged Infinity Gauntlet and looking for a safer place to store it.

Suddenly, an icy system prompt appeared before his eyes.

[Faction Objective Updated: Native Superhero Faction must fully prevent Thanos from collecting the Infinity Stones.]

[Tip: Holders of key items will be marked as high-priority targets by the enemy faction.]

Kizaru stared at the scorching, damaged gauntlet in his hand, dragging out his words lazily.

"Oh my, my. I just came out here to do a job, and now there’s mandatory temporary overtime?"

He glanced down at the ground.

A group of elite Chitauri soldiers with glowing red eyes had already locked dead onto him and were charging forward in a murderous frenzy.

Kizaru let out a helpless sigh.

"I clearly just wanted to quietly slack off. How did this turn into a fatal workplace hazard?"

At the exact same time, a cold prompt popped up in front of Akainu.

[Alien Overlord Faction can assist Thanos in entirely eliminating the enemy faction.]

[Current Objective: Assist in retrieving the Infinity Stones and drastically weaken the Native Superhero Faction.]

Boiling magma dripped from his shoulders, instantly melting through the solid ground.

Akainu’s expression was cold enough to freeze ice.

"You want me to assist this butcher who slaughters innocent lives?"

He slowly raised Zanka no Tachi, the blade radiating absolute, extreme heat.

"This bullsh*t rule, and whatever the hell issued it, should all be completely incinerated!"

The severely injured Thanos struggled to lift his head from the bottom of the crater, his bloody face curling into a cold sneer. "You have already been chosen by the rules of the universe."

Akainu stomped down mercilessly, the violent magma pinning Thanos’s chest to the dirt.

"Shut your mouth, criminal."

Thanos let out a painful groan, a deeper, freezing hostility churning in his eyes.

Imu and the Five Elders saw the glaring prompt at the same moment.

[Alien Overlord Faction objective updated.]

[You may assist Thanos in eliminating the enemy faction, and wait for an opportunity to seize the Infinity Stones.]

Saint Saturn’s eyes flickered wildly.

"Lord Imu, even the rules are standing on our side."

Imu looked up coldly at the arrogant Prime Thanos in the sky.

"The rule only said ’assist.’ It didn’t say we have to submit."

Saturn lowered his voice, his tone venomous. "Then we can borrow Thanos’s hands to clear the field, and reap the benefits afterward by taking the stones."

Imu shot him an apathetic, sideways glance.

"Do not do anything stupid here and let Blake make a joke out of us."

Saturn shuddered violently and immediately shut his mouth.

Saint Marcus Mars folded his massive wings, speaking with extreme caution.

"If we immediately side with Thanos’s faction now, the Marines and Whitebeard’s crew will definitely fight to the death to stop us."

Saint Topman Warcury sneered dismissively.

"They’re already stopping us."

Saint Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro tightly gripped the hilt of the Shodai Kitetsu.

"But a paranoid tyrant like Thanos will absolutely never trust us easily either."

Imu’s tone remained completely flat.

"I don’t need him to trust us at all."

"As long as he can’t resist making the first move, we will naturally have plenty of opportunities."

On the other side of the battlefield, Whitebeard hoisted Murakumogiri over his shoulder and took large strides, placing himself directly between the Avengers and the Marines’ factions.

The system prompts flashed frantically before his eyes, but he didn’t even bother giving them a second glance.

"I don’t give a sht about your bullsht faction divisions."

His majestic voice rang out clearly amidst the roaring artillery.

"Whoever dares point a gun at unarmed innocents, I will cut them down."

Young Captain America looked at that mountain-like, imposing figure and spoke softly. "I can completely understand that firm stance."

Future Captain America nodded heavily in agreement.

"Me too."

Hovering in mid-air, Tony couldn’t help but add, "I completely understand it too, but this old gentleman’s way of showing goodwill usually involves physically demolishing the entire city block in the process."

Whitebeard turned his head slightly to look at him.

"Tin can boy. My ears aren’t deaf. I can hear you."

Tony smoothly corrected himself without missing a beat.

"I meant, your demolitions possess immense strategic value, sir. It’s practically art."

Down below, Rocket rolled his eyes massively.

"That is some spineless kiss-assery right there."

Star-Lord hugged the Orb tightly, shivering.

"When faced with a terrifying twenty-foot-tall old man, ’spine’ is something you can temporarily put in storage."

Shiki stood on his massive floating boulder, drifting arrogantly above the battlefield.

The faction prompt flashed before his eyes several times, only to be utterly and arrogantly ignored.

"Avengers? Thanos? Bullsh*t system?"

He laughed wildly, the sound shaking the clouds.

"I am the Golden Lion! I belong in the sky!"

Kaido tilted his head up and roared curses. "You crippled old ghost, stop putting on airs up there!"

Shiki looked down, his laughter growing even more manic.

"You guard dog dragon, you’d better worry about those pathetic wounds of yours first!"

The veins on Kaido’s forehead bulged, his roar deafening.

"Get the hell down here!"

"Fly up here if you have the guts!"

"Don’t hide in the sky if you have the guts!"

"Stop panting like a dog down there if you have the guts!"

The two monsters relentlessly screamed curses at each other across the distance, their terrifying voices entirely drowning out the thunderous artillery fire.

Tony listened, completely dumbfounded. He couldn’t help but ask Kizaru, "Are they always like this?"

Kizaru replied lazily, "Oh my, my. This is just a typical day at the tavern. I’ve seen times when they argue far worse than this."

Future Tony keenly caught the word "tavern" and immediately turned to look at Doctor Strange.

"That portal you saw earlier... is it connected to these people?"

Doctor Strange didn’t answer. He just stared fixedly at the utterly chaotic battlefield.

He could clearly feel that every established future was being casually rewritten by a terrifying, invisible, giant hand.

And this group of lawless monsters seemed to all come from behind that mysterious door.

High above, Prime Thanos listened to the arrogant declarations of the various factions below. His expression remained completely unchanged.

He coldly watched as Imu and the Five Elders held their ground, and watched as Akainu mercilessly rejected the rules.

These visitors from another world were far more rebellious and uncontrollable than he had anticipated.

But he didn’t need to control all of them.

The Infinity Stones in his hand would flawlessly execute the forced division of this battlefield for him.

Prime Thanos slowly raised his intact Infinity Gauntlet.

The eerie blue Space Stone erupted with blinding light.

The Tesseract in Loki’s arms immediately began to resonate and vibrate violently.

Loki’s face changed drastically.

"He is forcibly seizing the Space Stone’s authority!"

Thor raised Stormbreaker in a furious rage.

"Then we go up there and chop his hand off!"

Loki roared in pure exasperation.

"You muscle-brained idiot! Can you stop oversimplifying complex problems into ’chopping off hands’!?"

Thor cast a cold look at Thanos’s gauntlet.

"I think this method sounds highly reasonable and efficient."

Whitebeard sharply raised his blade, apocalyptic tremor forces frantically gathering along the edge.

Sengoku’s Thousand Hands all rose high, poised and ready to strike.

Garp cracked his neck in mid-air, his knuckles popping loudly as the violent, blood-red steam rose once more.

Akainu, Kizaru, Tony, and the Future Avengers all locked their most powerful attacks onto Sanctuary II simultaneously.

Hela gripped the Power Stone tightly, an incredibly dangerous killing intent flashing in her eyes.
