Chapter 604: Ten Million Kinds of Despair

The unmanned suits deployed high-strength containment nets simultaneously.

Without slowing down for a fraction of a second, Garp crashed straight into them, the wild grin on his face undiminished.

"Tin cans, stop getting in my way!"

He threw a completely unflashy punch.

The first unmanned suit’s chest instantly caved in to the extreme, exploding into a sky full of shrapnel.

The second suit attempted to flank him from behind, but Garp snatched its leg in a vice grip. Treating it like a meteor hammer, he swung it around and smashed it brutally into the third suit.

Two incredibly expensive suits detonated loudly in mid-air.

Future Tony watched, his eyes practically popping out of his head.

"Dammit! Those were my freshly upgraded Mark armors!"

Garp picked his nose without a care in the world.

"Just tin cans blocking the road. If they break, they break. Nothing to cry over."

Furious, Future Tony roared, "Those are absolutely not tin cans!"

Young Tony landed a quiet, deadly blow from the side.

"They do look a lot like tin cans, honestly."

Future Tony whipped his head around.

"Shut your mouth."

Garp couldn’t be bothered with the two iron-clad men. He kicked off the air and rocketed back up into the heavens.

His arms coated in pitch-black Armament Haki, he literally tore open the armor plating of an escort craft barehanded, violently burrowing inside before blasting out the other end.

A chain of explosions ripped through the escort craft’s interior as it trailed thick smoke and plummeted toward Sanctuary II’s shields.

Seeing this, Whitebeard raised his blade and unleashed a devastating shockwave.

The falling escort craft was frantically accelerated by the tremor force, slamming into the shield like a massive meteor.

The eerie blue shield vibrated far more violently than before.

Sengoku keenly seized the fleeting opening.

"Great Buddha, Thousand Hand Cannon!"

Countless colossal golden palms bombarded the exact same weak point like a torrential storm.

Sanctuary II’s indestructible outer shield finally fractured, displaying a spiderweb of cracks visible to the naked eye.

Thor seized the opening. Roaring wildly, he charged in and swung Stormbreaker.

The force of a million thunderbolts struck down.

The crack in the shield was instantly torn wide open.

Rocket screamed at the top of his lungs from below. "Yes! That’s exactly where you hit it! Keep chopping! Don’t you f*cking miss!"

Thor roared back in anger. "I’m not deaf, I can hear you!"

Rocket cursed right back, refusing to back down. "If you can hear me, then aim better!"

Just as the battlefield began to stabilize, a golden portal sparked to life at the edge of the ruins.

Doctor Strange stumbled out awkwardly. The Cloak of Levitation had to yank him back two steps before he could barely steady himself.

He looked up and saw the temporal rift left by the Ancient One. He saw Hela wielding the Power Stone, Loki clutching the flashing Tesseract, and Kizaru holding the sealed, damaged Gauntlet. The blood completely drained from his face.

"This is wrong."

"This is all completely wrong."

Future Tony flew to his side instantly.

"Doc, you better tell me right now that these terrifying monsters are on our side."

Doctor Strange stared intently at Akainu, Kaido, Shiki, Imu, and Hela. His lips barely moved.

"At the very least, right now, do not actively attack them."

Young Tony flew over as well.

"At the very least? I really don’t like the implications of that phrase."

Doctor Strange raised his hands, deploying a mandala to forcefully block a lethal artillery blast.

"I don’t like it either, but with the way things are today, none of us have the luxury to be picky."

Sengoku’s commanding roar rolled across the battlefield.

"If you want to live, focus fire on that broken ship in the sky!"

"Stop wasting time on the ground!"

Future Captain America swept his gaze over Sengoku’s unshakeable Buddha construct, then looked at Kizaru and Whitebeard, who were both actively covering the civilians.

Drawing on his wealth of experience, he quickly made a call.

"Rogers, listen to the old man."

Young Cap paused, stunned.

"Are you actually giving me orders?"

Future Cap looked at him deeply.

"I’m just suggesting you trust your instincts."

Young Cap was silent for a moment before decisively raising his shield.

"Avengers, listen up! Concentrate all fire on the breach in the shield!"

Young Tony immediately chimed in. "Taking orders from myself feels incredibly weird, but I completely agree."

Future Tony: "You only feel weird now? I’ve been tolerating that mouth of yours for way too long."

"Likewise."

The two Iron Man armors ascended into the sky simultaneously, unloading their repulsor blasts onto Sanctuary II’s breach without holding back.

Wanda quickly broke away to join the counter-offensive, using her scarlet energy to lift massive, heavy chunks of debris and hurl them like a meteor shower at the shield’s weak point.

Proxima Midnight tried to lunge forward to stop her, but both Future Cap and Young Cap moved in to block her dead in her tracks.

Two indestructible Vibranium shields slammed toward her in a savage, synchronized assault.

Proxima Midnight was forced back awkwardly.

She glared at the two identical Captain Americas, her face twisting in pure disgust.

"You can even duplicate this kind of trash?"

Young Cap didn’t answer.

Future Cap swung his shield and closed the distance once again.

"You’d better get used to it."

On the ground, Kaido and Cull Obsidian crashed into each other again, colliding as brutally as two mountains of flesh.

Future Hulk (Smart Hulk) struggled out of a different drop pod. Seeing the berserk Kaido, his expression became difficult to describe.

"What is this horned monster supposed to be?"

Rocket screamed himself hoarse from nearby. "Don’t ask! Just absolutely do not get near that maniac!"

Kaido knocked Cull Obsidian to the ground with a bone-crushing swing of his kanabo. Turning his head, he spotted the Hulk.

"A big green guy? You want to get beat up too?"

Future Hulk adjusted the glasses on his nose and sensibly took a half-step back.

"No. I’m currently walking the path of rational communication."

Kaido let out an incredibly dismissive scoff.

"Boring."

At that very moment, Hela slowly raised the Power Stone.

Taking advantage of everyone furiously attacking Sanctuary II, she secretly condensed a lethal, purple necrotic blade, preparing to silently assassinate Loki.

Relying on his instincts as the God of Mischief, Loki sensed the killing intent instantly.

"Thor! Help!"

Thor had just been knocked back by the recoil of Sanctuary II’s shield. There was no way he could return in time.

Whitebeard suddenly spun around, unleashing a devastating tremor slash that instantly shattered the majority of the approaching black blades.

The few remaining stragglers were flawlessly pierced by Kizaru’s precise light beams.

Hela glared at Whitebeard with ice-cold eyes.

"Old man, you dare stand in my way?"

Whitebeard slammed his blade into the ground and laughed heartily.

"Anyone who dares bully a child in front of me is getting cut down."

Loki’s face instantly darkened.

"I am not a child."

Thor landed heavily, clapping him hard on the shoulder.

"In Mother’s eyes, you always will be."

Loki shot him a vicious glare.

"Will it kill you to shut your mouth right now?"

Capitalizing on the chaos, Doctor Strange quickly raised his hands, fully opening a time spell.

Deep green light runes spun frantically in his palms.

But the next moment, what he saw wasn’t a stable future at all.

It was a full fourteen million completely shattered, despair-inducing visions.

New York turned to ash. Asgard plunging into the abyss. Thanos laughing in victory. The Infinity Stones’ energy spiraling out of control. The monstrous pirates brutally slaughtering each other.

And one bizarre, horrifying image that kept flickering repeatedly.

Doctor Strange’s face went completely pale, his spell nearly collapsing in his hands.

Sensing the anomaly, Future Tony flew over to him.

"What the hell did you just see?"

Doctor Strange stared intently at the fading remnant of that vision, his voice trembling.

"The biggest problem we’re facing today... might not have even entered the battlefield yet."
