Chapter 95/A Rude Awakening

Chapter 95: 95/A Rude Awakening

Chapter 95

Cedric’s Point of View

Early in the morning, I was awakened by the annoying, persistent ringing of my mobile phone kept on the wooden nightstand beside the bed. I opened my eyes heavily, filled with irritation, and glanced drowsily at the illuminated screen; it was exactly six o’clock in the morning! Seeing the caller’s name engraved on the screen, I let out a burning, suffocating sigh of frustration. It was that wretched Isabella, who never gets tired of pursuing me.

I snatched the phone angrily and pressed the answer button, intending to put an end to this early disturbance before it woke anyone in the palace. In a raspy, dry voice entirely devoid of any warmth, I barked: "Yes, Isabella... what is it at this hour?"

Her coquettish voice, dripping with artificial affection, came through the line as she said in a doting tone: "Cedric, baby... good morning. I missed you so much, and I couldn’t bear it without hearing your voice."

I rubbed my face with my palm with excessive agitation to banish the remnants of sleep. Jerking the sheet off my body violently, I sat on the edge of the mattress and said with rigid bluntness: "Isabella... it’s six in the morning! Are you losing your mind, calling at this fucking time?"

She replied in a reproachful, provocative tone that grated on my nerves: "I think about you all the time, every second, baby. The time doesn’t matter to me... I truly want to meet you today, it’s been so long."

I leaned my back against the bed again, my gray eyes staring blankly at the ceiling with absolute coldness. "I am entirely busy today," I said flatly. "I have no time for your nonsense."

She asked with meddlesome curiosity, a hint of annoyance surfacing in her tone: "Busy with what exactly? Are you hiding something from me?"

My jaw clenched tightly as I listened to her stupid questions. In a sharp, stern, and commanding tone that instantly silenced her, I snapped: "I have official work and family matters to attend to, Isabella. I am not going to explain every detail of my day and my movements to you. Know your boundaries."

She let out an exaggeratedly soft sigh, responding with surrender and disappointment: "Fine, Cedric... I suppose that means we won’t be meeting today either."

"Yes..." I replied with curt, absolute coldness. "Let’s postpone this meeting to another day when I am free."

"Alright, as you wish, Cedric... take care of yourself," she said in a low, submissive voice.

I ended the call instantly without waiting to hear the rest of her farewell, tossing the phone onto the mattress in raging fury. I stood up, heading with angry strides into the bathroom to shower. Her wretched, early call had completely banished sleep and comfort from my eyes, leaving me at the peak of my agitation. Beneath the cold water of the shower, a powerful shiver surged through the fibers of my body, and against my will, her provocative image invaded my imagination and dominated my senses. Damn it... Stephanie never leaves my mind or my thoughts! She is like a curse that has befallen me.

The feel of her pussy yesterday, its slippery softness, and her violent trembling beneath my fingers under the kitchen table right in front of everyone’s eyes were pursuing me with a maddening, merciless lust.

I emerged from the bathroom with a burning body, drying myself with a towel and throwing my clothes on with messy haste. A wild, untamed, and insane urge invaded my entire being, causing the blood to boil in my veins. I had to see her at any cost... I had to see her frightened face right now, before anything else!

I walked out of my room with wide, confident, and determined strides, heading directly across the long hallway toward her and Alex’s room. Reaching the massive wooden door, I extended my hand boldly, without a shred of hesitation or fear of the consequences. I opened the door slowly and with extreme quietness so as not to make a sound... and at that exact moment, the blood froze entirely in my veins. I was utterly paralyzed by what my eyes were witnessing inside the room!

My eyes widened in a fatal, violent shock that immobilized my movements. I gripped the metal doorknob with excessive force until my knuckles turned completely white, my body stiffening like stone under the impact of a raging jealousy. Stephanie and my brother, Alex, were sleeping deeply together on the exact same bed... embracing each other with an intense warmth and intimacy like two lovers, her head resting against his broad chest!

I stormed into the room with blind impulse, my voice booming and thunderous, tearing through the silence of the space: "What is this!"

They sat up, startled and terrified, their eyes widening in shock as they stared at me, their breath coming in short, ragged gasps. Stephanie quickly adjusted her position, clutching the sheet to her chest with trembling hands, and whispered in a faint, wavering voice: "Cedric... what are you doing here?"

Alex’s massive frame stiffened, his jaw tightening violently as he locked his dark, piercing gaze onto mine. He spoke in a dry, authoritative tone: "Cedric, how dare you enter this room without permission?"

I pointed a finger toward the bed, my entire body shaking with the sheer force of the burning jealousy and rage gnawing at my insides. With a choked voice and eyes shooting sparks of malice, I spat: "You were embracing each other like this, on the same bed!"

Stephanie tried to salvage the situation, shifting nervously on the bed and saying in a defensive tone, pleading for calm: "You are misinterpreting everything."

I took a violent step toward them, clenching my fists so tightly my knuckles turned white, and hissed: "I am interpreting it exactly as it is, Stephanie!"

Alex rose from the bed to his full, imposing height, standing before me like a solid wall, his body tensed in defiance. He said in a husky, expressionless voice: "Cedric, Stephanie is my wife now; you have no right to object."

My pupils dilated with madness. I leaned in close to his face until our chests were nearly touching, and snarled with thunderous disdain: "She is my lover! She is the mother of my twins!"

Stephanie covered her face with her palms, her shoulders shaking weakly, and she cried out in a choked, sobbing voice: "Please, Cedric... stop this!"

I turned to her with a harsh expression, the wound in my chest bleeding, and said with biting bitterness: "You told me this marriage was just on paper... Is this how you lied to me, Stephanie?"

Alex froze in his tracks at those words. He turned his head slowly, with a terrifying slowness, toward her. He fixed his piercing, shattered gaze upon her pale face and whispered in a low, chilling tone: "Did you tell him that?"

Stephanie broke down in tears, screaming in a state of collapse as she pulled at her hair, shifting erratically on the bed: "I am so tired of both of you... both of you!"

I looked at her with eyes narrowed in suspicion and fury, crossing my arms over my chest, intending to corner her, and said with cruel coldness: "Really? Are you playing both of us, Stephanie?"
