Chapter 2740: Christmas Special 2025

The next thing that Adrian knew on the day before Christmas is that his cousins along with his maternal grandfather have crashed into their house. Even his mother was so shocked on what happened that she is glaring at his grandfather but the latter is just evading eye contact while playing with his grandchildren.

Adrian is also quite shocked of what happened as they were suddenly surprised as he was the one that opened the door for them. Not all of them came to their house because some cannot make it but they will do a video call later. It is not just the maternal grandfather that came because Adrian’s paternal grandfather also came. As soon as the two grandfathers made eye contact with each other, sparks started to fly from their eyes as if they are challenging one another.

The two grandfathers had a staring competition before the deluge that is about to happen. All of a sudden, all of the children in the area even the ones that just passed by to do some caroling got a red envelope. Each of the red envelope contained a sizeable amount of money that can feed you good for one week. New spread of the sudden generosity battle between the grandfathers and all of the children that are in the knows also came for the shower of blessing.

“Why are you here as well?” Adrian asked Marlon.

“Why are you stopping me from falling in line? You are also in line and I just happened to bring my siblings. They also told me to fall in line so here I am now.” Marlon or otherwise known as Levin Cloud stated.

“I heard there was cash.” Jade, who is Peridot inside the game, stated as she also came to get some blessings despite getting money from the game as well.

Just because they are getting some good cash from the game, it does not mean that they do not want to get something in real life as well. You can say that having hard cash in your palm is a sensation that any kid wants to feel when it is the holidays. The fact that the two grandfathers are giving money around is something that is noteworthy and praiseworthy because they are giving joy one way or another.

“Whoever said that money cannot buy happiness is probably rich to begin with. You cannot be happy in an empty stomach and without a roof over your head.” Marlon stated in a serious tone.

“I agree!” Adrian added as he shook hands with Marlon.

It is not just Adrian, Marlon, and Jade that lined up because even Mina is in the line as well. She is actually richer than Adrian and the other two combined but she is also participating. She even gave a thumbs up to Adrian which the latter returned with a thumbs up as well.

“Wahh! Shiny red envelope!” Adrian stated as he slid it down his pockets for safe keeping.

The event did draw a huge crowd but the two grandfathers did not even blink with all the money that they gave. They all got a lot of compliments and even gratitude as there were some that really needed the money. Even generosity to the unknown can lead to a good thing as long as it is done in moderation.

“Tell me, grandchildren. Who won this round?” Adrian’s maternal grandfather asked.

“We were supposed to keep count? You never told us anything about that though.” Adrian replied as he clearly did not count the number of people that fell in line.

“Clearly, this round is a tie. The next round should be different! We shall battle it out with gifts! Bring out the trailer truck!” Adrian’s paternal grandfather stated as he clapped his hands.

All of a sudden, a decently sized trailer truck rode in and the back opened to reveal countless gifts. All of the gifts were supposed to be distributed to each of the grandchildren as a way to pick but Adrian’s mother suddenly appeared. Adrian’s maternal grandfather was actually dialing a number to deliver gifts as well but he was stopped when Adrian’s mother arrived.

“I believe that all of this should be placed near the Christmas Tree for now. Am I right? Also, you are not bringing another batch over here right, dad?” Adrian’s mother stated with a smile that is not a smile.

“Of course not. I was just checking in on the pig that is to be delivered here for the roast later. I will show you my culinary expertise when it comes to delicious food! We suddenly came here after all which is why we would be embarrassed if we do not at least give good food.” Adrian’ maternal grandfather stated as he quickly changed the status of what he ordered from gifts to a whole live pig.

“I guess I won this round then! HAHA… ha…ha” Adrian’s paternal grandfather stated with a laugh but it soon changed to a demurer cough.

“Sorry, what was that again, Father?” Adrian’s mother asked with a smile.

“I was just joking. I will also compete with food! I will cook my famous roast beef! It will surely be something to salivate towards. It will be better than the roast pig that will be served as I will make my signature gravy that even Richard drinks as if it is water.” Adrian’s paternal grandfather stated as sweat suddenly started to drop from his forehead.

“If that is the case then we should leave the kids to bond for now. All of you should decorate the garden as that is where we will be eating. All of you already got your advance payments from your grandfathers.” Adrian’s mother stated with a smile which made all of the grandchildren nod their heads in unison.

“Good! Adrian will show you where we keep the decoration. Have fun decorating, you guys! I will make some refreshments while all of you work… I mean decorate.” Adrian’s mother stated as she brought the two grandfathers with her.

“Auntie is still as fierce as ever. Anyways, Merry Christmas and thanks for the moolah!” Marlon stated as he instantly scurried away with his siblings as they did not want to get caught up in decorating.

“I will be going as well. I need to buy some gifts for Marlon’s siblins.” Jade stated as she also made up an excuse to vanish.

“I will pick up my boyfriend from the airport as he is already landing in an hour. Take good care of the cousin, lil bro.” Mina stated as she vanished without a trace as well.

“I guess all of you can follow me then.” Adrian stated as he is now the de facto leader to the garden decoration club just because he received shiny red envelopes full of hopes and dreams.

The decorating aspect of the garden did not take as long as some of the initial decorations have already been placed. The only thing that they decorated heavily is the Christmas Tree and the bushes around. Adrian made detailed instructions on what to do as if he was in battle and commanding his guild members.

Adrian felt that this celebration is quite different than usual as he did not expect that these holidays would be louder. They usually only celebrate with the four of them as even the helps are on leave. The Christmas Eve that is supposed to be calm and serene suddenly turned joyful and full of life. It might not be the same celebration that happened last year but it is definitely full of special memories.

One of the most noteworthy events is when Mina brought over Nicholas which is Lycan’s real name. He could see Nicholas being heavily interrogated by the two grandfathers that he is sweating all over. One may say that he is experiencing interrogation and a panic attack at the same time. He basically became the assistant to the intense rivalry of the two grandfathers.

Another memorable experience for Adrian is the food as all of them were incredibly satisfied. The grandfathers were not joking when they say that they make good food. At least all of them had three servings of food as it was that delicious. Some even fought in line for the crispy skin of the roasted pig or the very tender roasted beef.

“It seems that your Christmas celebration is quite memorable and fun.” Frey stated as she is actually inside the game and chatting with Adrian in her in-game avatar.

“How about you? Are you sure that you would rather spend it in the game than with your friends?” Adrian asked.

“All of them are with their families and I did not want to bother them. Also, my parents will arrive after midnight so you do not need to worry. It has always been like this but it is special now because you did give me a Christmas letter. It is special this year. Thank you.” Frey stated with a genuine smile that made Adrian’s ears turn red.
