Chapter 2739: Finding Equinox

“You shall die of frost, goddess of earth.” The Ice Queen Elona stated as she transformed into a large blizzard that came crashing down on the Goddess of Earth Sif.

“Sif!” The God of Thunder Thor shouted as he swung Mjolnir towards the direction of the Goddess of Earth Sif.

The God of Thunder Thor wanted to rescue the rooted Goddess of Earth Sif even if his entire body is now getting covered with frost. The Goddess of Earth Sif knew that she would have her body frozen over if she did not take drastic measures. The Goddess of Earth Sif shattered both her lower legs and then slammed her spear unto the ground to propel herself upwards.

The God of Thunder Thor managed to catch the Goddess of Earth Sif but they were now in the range of the powerful blizzard that is the Ice Queen Elona. All of the players, enemy NPCs, and even items from the enemies that are swallowed by the blizzard turned into pure ice sculptures. The power of the blizzard is not something that even those with the blood of the gods can withstand.

“SUMMON BIFROST!” The God of Thunder Thor shouted as he used up quite a bit of divine power to call upon the Bifrost using his Mjolnir.

The divine weapon, Mjolnir, is a special divine artifact crafted to have the God of Thunder Thor be able to call upon the elements and even the special portal of the Asgardians called the Bifrost. He can use it to create a temporary connection and travel to any area that has the magic circle of the Bifrost. The magic circle of the Bifrost manifested but the blizzard behind them caught on quickly.

The God of Thunder Thor got hit by a powerful ice elemental energy on his back which froze the top layer of the skin on his back. Still, the God of Thunder Thor and the Goddess of Earth Sif vanished as the Bifrost activated in time before they got swallowed by the blizzard. The remaining army of the Asgardians were not as lucky though as they were all trapped in ice.

When the blizzard finally stopped, the Ice Queen Elona returned back to her normal form in a state of severe exhaustion. She fell from the sky but snow suddenly formed an arch until it became hands to catch her. She then fell into the hands of Aurgelmir as the latter immediately returned to her side as he knew that the Ice Queen Elona will be severely exhausted after using that powerful spell.

“She is gone. I need to know what happened. Lead me to the sanctum.” The Ice Queen Elona pleaded in a voice that is weak and not commanding which she never shows to any of her subjects.

“As you wish. I shall escort you there myself. Your attendants will be the ones that will clean up the battlefield as you need to rest.” Aurgelmir stated.

Just as the two of them were about to head to the Sanctum of Stars, a portal suddenly appeared before them. The soldiers suddenly surrounded the portal as they do not know what can come out of it. A few seconds later, three old looking men came out of the portal and the Ice Queen Elona immediately knew who they were.

“I greet the Daemos Elders. I believe that there should at least be a warning for the sudden visit but it seems that something has riled all three of you up for all of you to suddenly appear before me. Excuse me for the inappropriate state that I am in as I am currently in a weakened state. The Asgardian gods suddenly attacked our kingdom after all. I became weakened trying to defend against the attacks of multiple divine beings.” The Ice Queen Elona stated as she was still in the arms of Aurgelmir but she sounds dignified.

“Apologies for the sudden intrusion, your majesty. Our youngest suddenly disappeared from the mortal realm. The last traces of his magic signature are from your kingdom which is why we want to investigate.” Elder Ascalor stated with a slight bow.

“Do you know where the young one vanished from?” The Ice Queen Elona asked as she did feel the magic signature of Equinox but she paid it no mind as she was battling the God of Thunder Thor. She needed to focus her mind in defeating the God of Thunder Thor while strengthening the barrier that protects her kingdom.

“From what I can sense, the magic signature should be there. In that large temple like building where space is somewhat distorted. Did something happen there?” Elder Koronn pointed which suddenly made the Ice Queen Elona look a bit sad.

“We are also heading there right now. Please come with us.” The Ice Queen Elona stated as she tried her best to hide the sadness in her eyes.

“Thank you.” All three Daemos elders stated as they followed.

When the group arrived at the Sanctum of Stars, the special space has already collapsed. The entrance is no longer hidden in another dimension. The special space is only possible if the Great Star Gazer is still alive. Adrian managed to extend it when he took full control of it but it collapsed as he vanished. A very restless Frey could be seen trying to find any clues on how to contact Adrian as her in-game chat is not working which means that he is in a place where communication magic cannot reach.

“It seems there was a fierce battle here. The entire area is also filled with the stench of blood as the guards were all killed.” Elder Bronx stated as he could easily tell when a skirmish happened.

“We should ask the little lass that our youngest is acquainted with. She seems to be in a state of unrest as it seems she saw what happened.” Elder Ascalor stated as their presence made Frey freeze but it also made the latter relieved in some way.

“I greet the Ice Queen, the Divine Blacksmith, and the Daemos Elders. I am a Valkyrie named Frey.” Frey stated as she bowed.

“Can you tell me what happened to my friend, child? Also, tell all of us what happened to this place to arrive in such a state.” The Ice Queen Elona stated.

Frey started to recount everything that happened or at least what she has seen. She told them that the Great Star Gazer gave her a charm that can tell when the latter is in danger. She also encountered the God of Mischief Loki inside the Sanctum of Stars but he was already fighting against the Great Star Gazer. She also told them that the Great Star Gazer was already poisoned by the God of Mischief Loki by the time she arrived.

In the end, the Great Star Gazer succumbed to the poison but they were able to seriously injure the God of Mischief Loki. They were about to take revenge on God of Mischief Loki for killing the Great Star Gazer and Equinox was about to land a finishing blow when something strange happened. A mysterious rift suddenly opened from behind Equinox and something from beyond that dragged him to the other side.

“The Great Star Gazer then turned into particles of light upon her death and became stars in the sky. I wanted to kill the God of Mischief Loki there but he vanished as soon as Equinox’ hold of the special space vanished. He was the one trapping the God of Mischief Loki here and we would have succeeded if I were stronger.” Frey stated in disappointment as she held her head low.

“You are not to blame child. My friend already knew when she was going to die. It would have been less sad if she told me when as I could have given her my last farewell. For the matters of Equinox, I believe that the Daemos Elders can give us a better view of what happened.” The Ice Queen Elona stated.

“I am ready now. Memory of the World!” Elder Koronn stated as he used the spell to show what happened for the past three hours and everything that Frey said has been verified.

The Ice Queen Elona also saw the Great Star Gazer in her last moments. The Ice Queen Elona did know why but the face of the Great Star Gazer was looking at her spot now before closing her eyes for the last time. As if the Great Star Gazer knew that her friend will see her last moments and it is like their final goodbye. They also got a view of the rift and the monster that abducted Adrian away.

“The youngest is now trapped in the Void.” Elder Ascalor stated in a serious and heavy tone as all of them could see the rift that leads to the Void.

“If you know where he is, does that mean you can rescue him?” Frey asked but the faces of the elders were full of doubt.
