Chapter 2713: Defending Avalon II

Chapter 2713: Defending Avalon II

“If I cannot find the weakness using my own evil eye then I shall rely on what my skills can do.” Adrian stated as he grabbed his daggers and jumped into the portal he easily constructed.

Balor slammed down its large wooden club as he wanted to crush the bugs that dared to attack it. The players wanted to take down Balor because they can clearly see that he was the most powerful being there. Also, Equinox told them that they can freely hunt any enemy because he wants to protect the territory more than claim the glory of killing the enemy commander.

The players that are using Avalon as a commercial hub are also actively participating because they do not want this territory to vanish. There are only a few territories where the taxes are low and that there are no exorbitant dungeon entrance fees. They rallied to protect Avalon even if they die because they will just respawn in the territory anyway.

[The Blessing of the Tree of Life and Death have been given to the brave souls that are defending it.]

[All damage dealt will now heal the player by 20% of their total damage dealt. Excess healing will become a barrier that protects the player.]

[You have once chance of revival that can be used if you die from this battle.]

The Tree of Life and Death suddenly showered all of Adrian’s allies with buffs that can prolong their life. The players that saw this notification suddenly became rabid as they recklessly charged through the enemies because they were given a second life for free. This is the reason why they loved defending Avalon as the buffs provided by this place is top notch despite it being targeted by powerful beings.

Balor suddenly found himself surrounded by players but they did not get in his range. All of them fired off their attacks or spells from a distance as they learned from those that died earlier. Balor felt the damage dealt by the long-ranged attacks but he cannot do anything about it. He already used his evil eye earlier and it drained a lot of his own stamina which made him more sluggish.

“I cannot endure this humiliation! Die!” Balor shouted as he opened his eyes once again as he could not take the relentless barrage of spells on his way.

Balor might be powerful but he does not possess powerful magic that can create barriers on his body. He does have a powerful body that can take hits but even dripping water can carve through stone. The numerous spells launched at him slowly trickled down his health to the point that even his own regeneration cannot keep up.

Balor commanded some of the treants to attack the players but all of them were being held in place by the elves. The elves were now able to create a terrain where they magic shined and they created powerful roots that could even hold a treant in place. They may not be able to hold all of the treants but they were able to make sure that the players attacking Balor were uninterrupted. Due to this, Balor had no choice but to rely on his evil eye once more to decimate his enemies.

Balor opened his eyes and a portal opened right above him. The portal opening was very noticeable which made Balor shift his gaze upwards but that was the wrong decision. Adrian appeared from the portal with his twin daggers emitting a very powerful and tyrannical aura. Adrian made sure to coat his daggers with as much nether energy as he can.

Balor is about to swing his club towards Adrian as his evil eye will not affect another evil eye user. Fortunately, the players were quick on the uptake and some of them used spells to bind the wooden club. Balor suddenly found itself unable to lift its weapon which led to Adrian’s own weapon plungin directly into the eye of the divine being.

“ARRGGGH!” Balor screamed with all of his being as if he was getting tortured to the utmost degree.

Balor’s body itself is incredibly powerful and sturdy which is why even powerful weapons like Adrian’s armaments cannot scratch it. Unfortunately for Balor, his eye did not get blessed the same way his body does. This is also the reason why he rarely opens his eyes and keeps them closed as his eyelids are very sturdy.

Balor could not close his eyes on time but that was actually Adrian’s doing. As soon as he appeared from the portal above Balor, Adrian cast a spell that accelerated his movement and also decelerated the movement of his enemy’s head. Adrian did not target the entire body of Balor but just the head to make it less obvious. Even Balor himself did not notice it because he was only moving his head for about two seconds late.

Two seconds might not be enough time but a demon that can stop time entirely is a whole different subject. Adrian even planned to use Time Stop but it seems his speed was enough as he plunged both his daggers into Balor’s eye. Adrian used all of his strength to try and take the eye out but even the inner walls of Balor’s eye is as tough as his skin. Adrian even got thrown back when Balor screamed in pain as he started thrashing about.

Adrian easily escaped via a portal when he was thrown off and appeared a few meters away from Balor. Adrian is about to try and deal more damage to Balor when he sensed a very dangerous killing intent behind him. He instinctively moved and parried whatever flying object there is flying towards him. A loud ring of two weapons clashing appeared as a sharp wooden sword is the culprit.

The wooden sword then crumbled into dust before another round of numerous wooden swords were aimed at his location. Adrian had to escape into a rift as getting hit by more than one is already a death sentence.
