Chapter 2648: King Yama Descends II

At Adrian’s words, the flaming eyes of King Yama suddenly burned brightly for a moment before fizzling out. One would think that a promise would be useless for a powerful god as King Yama, but he knows how powerful the Champion chosen by the Twin Gods is. A promise to deliver the soul of a primordial divine beast fused with a distorted god is not something King Yama could ignore.

If King Yama were to ever get that soul, then he would no longer need to endure the pain of losing all of his power for a long time. He would not need to reincarnate for a long time which means he will be able to fix all of the things lacking in the eastern underworld. He could even take care of the small and trivial squabbles that the other gods are doing.

“A promise is not solid enough for me to help you. What can you give me as a guarantee should you be unable to keep your promise? King Yama asked.

“The guarantee… I can give myself as a guarantee if you want. At least for a month.” Adrian stated as having the Mediator of Death as a backer is like having the God of Death Abaddon giving you the utmost favor.

“Very well then. I shall humor you this time, mediator. If you fulfill your promise, then I shall get a great reward from it. Even if you do not deliver, your utmost trust for a month would already be justified.” King Yama stated but the death energy in the area suddenly flared up as it was not just his in it.

“Ohoh! It seems that the other gods of death are protesting right now when they themselves cannot even manifest a small part of themselves in an area blessed by death. All of you cannot oppose my decision because the mediator himself proposed this trade.” King Yama stated with a laugh as the other gods of death from all over are now jealous of him.

“They really do act like kids.” Levin Cloud whispered to Adrian.

“That is better than the gods of life that act like spoiled brats.” Adrian replied.

“Thank you for the deal, King Yama.” Adrian stated as King Yama suddenly created a white spark from his hand.

The white spark then turned into a burning flame that slowly morphed into the soul of the Seer of the Azure Dragon. King Yama made sure to stabilize the soul of the dutybound wraith as it will not enter the cycle of reincarnation if it does not fulfill the last duty it is entrusted to. In fact, Adrian is really losing out on this deal because he would create a stage where the dutybound wraith will fulfill its last duty while also giving the soul of a powerful being to King Yama.

Adrian knew that this deal was skewed more into the side of King Yama, but he no longer has any options that is quick and effective. The revival of the Four Cardinal Divine Beasts is the first step in getting the soul of the Corrupted Yellow Emperor. It is a need for the betterment of all for the Four Cardinal Divine Beasts to revive. It is not optional because it is the bedrock needed for victory against a powerful enemy on the level of a High God or stronger.

“I have done my part. Just make sure to deliver the soul to me once the ritual has been completed.” King Yama stated as his palanquin exploded in white flames and vanished.

The eastern demon gate also changed back to the iron gate before, and the two divine guards returned to their stations. With King Yama returning to the eastern underworld, the iron door that leads to it has been shut tightly once again. The large door vanished like the mist after it was closed, and all of the people could finally breathe easier.

“Where am I?” The Seer of the Azure Dragon asked as she is suddenly awakened from her dream like state.

King Yama made sure to make her soul enter a sleep like state when she was delivered here. Now that she was awoken, the Seer of the Azure Dragon is now in an unfamiliar place that she has never step foot on. She was about to become unstable when Levin Cloud released a wave of death energy that calmed her down. If Levin Cloud did not do that then the Seer of the Azure Dragon would have become an undead and break the deal that they had made with King Yama.

When the Seer of the Azure Dragon calmed down, the other seers of the divine beasts then gathered towards her. The three cried and tried to hug their sister but all of them passed through her. Even if she looked solid enough, the Seer of the Azure Dragon has already died and only her soul is now present.

“You cannot touch her because she is now just a wandering soul. Her presence is currently tethered to this ceremonial altar which means she cannot leave this place unless she possesses someone. Still, time is limited, and she cannot stay in the mortal realm for too long. Proceed with the revival ceremony immediately.” Adrian stated as he urged the seers to do the ritual now while the soul of the Seer of the Azure Dragon is still strong.

“The demon is right. We have to revive our master’s or else the eastern continent is doomed.” The Seer of the Black Tortoise stated.

“We will catch up later once the ceremony is finished. Are you ready, Blue?” The Seer of the Vermillion Bird asked the soul of the Seer of the Azure Dragon.

“Maybe we should let her be accustomed as she is still confused.” The Seer of the White Tiger stated.

“No need. I finally had all of my memories rushing back to me and I even saw how I died. I have one last duty to fulfill before I enter the gates of reincarnation.” The Seer of the Azure Dragon stated.
