I should check though.” The Corrupted Huanglong stated as it suddenly morphed into a more humanoid form.
The Corrupted Huanglong changed its body into a more human appearance as it is also a way for it to conserve energy. Using its true body meant that it would use far more resources to maintain and move. It disliked using a humanoid form, but it is not averse to it if it will be helpful to it. The Corrupted Huanglong changed to look like a man with long hair in his old age.
The Corrupted Huanglong looked like an old dynastic emperor of the eastern continent. He is dressed in golden garbs and linen that made one look regal. The only problem is that the aura of nobility did not exude from it. The Corrupted Huanglong still had this stifling miasma around it which made any being or even non-living being around it become corrupted.
“I should check if you are not hiding in the rubble like the rats that you are.” The Corrupted Huanglong stated as a powerful overbearing force suddenly slammed down on the entire area.
The boulders and even the land became crushed by the force, and everything became flat. The ground earlier was incredibly disorderly as some caved in and small hills were formed from the mound of earth around the destroyed mountain. When the Corrupted Huanglong used its power, the rugged terrain suddenly became flat to the point that everything is crushed.
“It seems that they have escaped from the area. It is of no wonder because a demon is present. A being that could manipulate time and space is an anomaly of this world after all. No matter… all will fall before me once I break the Seal of Tathagata. I shall be free from this continent and conquer the world. Once that is completed, I shall become the true emperor of this world.” The Corrupted Huanglong stated as it suddenly saw the golden cudgel still pinned to the ground which made it laugh. The Corrupted Huanglong then remembered what the Divine Beast Sun Wukong told him back then.
“You shall be sealed for eternity under the might of my cudgel. The world no longer needs an emperor that has been consumed by an evil entity.” The Divine Beast Sun Wukong stated as he perished when he sealed the Corrupted Huanglong.
“Such a foolish monkey. Did you really think that I will be sealed forever? The greed of those fallen gods know no bounds. You should have sealed them with me if you wanted to lock me forever. For someone called the Heavenly Sage, you are not that smart. All it took was that small instance for the seal to shift and my plan already started. Was it a few centuries ago?” The Corrupted Huanglong stated as it recalled how its plan for its release started.
Just as the Divine Beast Sun Wukong said, the Corrupted Huanglong would have been sealed for eternity if the Four Cardinal Divine Beasts were not harmed. This should have been true but there was a shift in the eastern continent back then. A temporal shift if I may add which changed history forever and that is none other than the splitting of the Vermillion Bird of the South.
A traveler from the present went to the past and used unknown means to split the Vermillion Bird of the South into two phoenixes. This anomaly in the past created a present where the seal of the Four Cardinal Directions weakened. It was not a large weakening that could make the other divine beasts be alarmed but it was enough for the Corrupted Huanglong.
The Corrupted Huanglong, which had its consciousness sealed back then, was awakened as the weakened seal opened an opportunity for it. The Corrupted Huanglong immediately recalled all that happened to it even its own sealing. The Corrupted Huanglong could have rampaged, but it could not as only its consciousness could be awakened and not its body.
The Corrupted Huanglong knew that it could not mobilize its body, but its consciousness is still powerful enough to be projected. The Corrupted Huanglong is sealed by the eastern continent itself, and it could commune with the ley lines in it to check on what is happening in its entirety. This made the Corrupted Huanglong devise a plan but the first phase of that would be to observer everything in the eastern continent first.
The Corrupted Huanglong became patient and observed the happenings of the eastern continent for five years. It also learned that most of the inhabitants of the continent have forgotten about it. Being forgotten did not spur his anger but joy as this meant that no one would ever think that the Corrupted Huanglong has its consciousness awakened. The Corrupted Huanglong weaponized the ignorance of history of the people of the eastern continent.
“I am not a divine beast that needs the faith of people to be powerful. It seems that thousands of years of no movement from me has made them all complacent. They even dared to scheme against the very divine beasts that protected them from me. I should thank the people of the east for their own rotten ideas.” The Corrupted Huanglong thought as it relished at the fact that it did not even need to move and the very people of the east has endangered the Vermilion Bird of the South.
The Corrupted Huanglong then proceeded to craft its plan which became centuries in the making. The Corrupted Huanglong also had some influence especially through minds as it can deliver messages to beings that are very perceptive of phenomena. The Corrupted Huanglong targeted the Seers or at least those that have talents to become one. This was the first step of its plan for true revival.
