Chapter 2597: Samadhi True Fire II
Chapter 2597: Samadhi True Fire II
Upon changing his form, Adrian entered the long hall that led to the location of the Samadhi True Fire. He can feel it call out to him in anger and rage as it was trapped for a long time in these depths. Adrian managed to meet some of the senior Emei Sect members that have one to three jade bangles.
They did not even bother him as he would just give a bow of respect and be on his way. He also found numerous life signatures that were filled with yang energy which means that he was correct. The Emei Sect did hide the members of Kami because he has encountered men in the underground area. He could see that there are numerous members that were being treated as they are heavily wounded.
“It seems that they had more casualties than expected. It would also mean that most of their fighting force is not here at the moment. I can maybe do this if I play my cards right.” Adrian stated.
What Adrian did not know is that there were hidden members of Kami at every junction and they always record the movement of Emei Sect members. Kami knew that they cannot trust the Emei Sect members entirely as humans are easy to manipulate. Even a sect that was founded by one of the leaders of Kami will never be truly bow to them.
Adrian did not really trigger much discussion on their side for now as they thought that he was just one of the members called to check on something or to hand something. They already know of the guard stationed at the entrance to the underground facility. They also knew that the guard will not go down here unless another elder of the Emei Sect sent them to give a message.
“Master, we are heavily monitored at the moment. I can also feel a lot of eyes looking at us.” Sirius reported.
“That is expected. I am just trying to copy the movements of the others, but I suspect that they will begin their move once I do something out of the box. Prepare for battle because I fear that beyond that door will be our next battlefield.” Adrian stated as he could see that one of the doors where he senses the soul fragment is heavily guarded.
“Stop! State your business!” The male guards which are actually demigod level beings asked.
“This humble servant needs to give information to Master Chiyou on the orders of the elders.” Adrian stated as he made up something on the fly as he believed that Chiyou’s name would hold weight since Tai called him master.
“We were not informed of this. Where is the message? We can give it to, Chiyou.” The guard stated.
“Apologies but this is only a verbal message that must be passed down to the master. If you could escort me to him then that would also be appreciated, great masters.” Adrian stated as he bowed which flattered the egos of the demigod level guards.
“You should escort her to Chiyou. It must be important for it to be a verbal message.” One of the guards stated.
“Why do I have to be the one that does this?” The other guard grumbled.
“I am older than you.” The older guard stated.
“We have the same job post though.” The younger guard stated.
“Are you suddenly talking back to your senior?” The older guard stated while glaring.
“I was just joking. I wanted to stretch my legs anyways.” The younger guard stated with a pained smile but one could see that he was really discontented.
“Follow him but make sure to not do anything else. You will be killed if you do something other than your intended duty.” The older guard stated.
“I am well aware of my commands, great masters.” Adrian stated with a polite bow as he followed the young guard inside of the large gate.
As soon as Adrian entered the gate, he felt that it was like a new area as if he passed through a gate of a pocket dimension. It was not entirely a pocket dimension, but it was like he entered a sacred space. He looked up to see that the cave that was small suddenly expanded into a large area that is about fifty meters high. He could also see a large golden rod or tower at the end of this dug up area.
Adrian looked at the golden cudgel and felt indescribable power from it as there were runes etched on its very body. It held great divine energy, but it was being used slowly and is being distributed to the ground below. He thought that the golden tower was a building, but it was actually a large golden cudgel planted onto the ground and is even driven deeper.
He also found other more luxurious courtyards in this large dug up area as if it became an underground paradise. The lighting was also perfect as if the sun is up in the sky, but it was due to the formation on the ground. The entire area was filled to the brim with formations that used up a monstrous number of resources. This place is filled with more treasure than some small kingdom treasuries.
Adrian also encountered more demigod level combatants here, but their number seem to not exceed fifty or so. The others he saw are members of the Emei Sect that have high seniority. He made sure to not make eye contact with any of the Emei Sect members as they might strike a conversation and that would lead to his disguise being seen through. Fortunately, the other Emei Sect members were busy minding their own business as if they did not care for others.
“Strange. The other Emei Sect members I have encountered were all up in the business of others and naturally caring. The ones here have this vile aura coming off them as if they would gladly rip the throat of the other women.” Adrian thought and he was not wrong.
The Emei Sect members that are present here were the personal members fostered by the elders of the sect. They were all powerful, but they have yet to become Ascendant Immortals or demigod level Immortals. The students of the elders also became twisted in a way because they were given the realization that they were only made to serve the fallen gods.
The direct disciples of the elders would even go as far as seduction to get with a powerful fallen god. It is not an exaggeration to say that they believe that they can use their bodies to cling to power. They are the direct disciples that have already fallen too far and have no longer strictly adhered to the rules of their sect. Then again, even in powerful sects, favoritism is not unheard of and that there would always be exemptions.
“Their perfumes are making my nose incredibly allergic due to their potency. I was thinking of ways to spare the sect as some of their members are innocent but those at the top are no longer worth saving. I guess I would relay this to Dodu that the Emei Sect top masters are corrupted.” Adrian stated as he was finally told to stop.
“Wait here. I shall inform Chiyou of your arrival.” The younger guard stated as he suddenly vanished within a second.
As soon as the guard left, Adrian could feel the piercing stares of the direct disciples. It seems that they were not really ignoring him but was just waiting for the demigod guard to leave. They looked at him as if they wanted to kill him because they believe that he is like them. Currently, the body that Adrian is copying is that of a somewhat beautiful lady.
Compared to their heavily dolled up looks, Adrian’s polymorphed transformation is plain and simple. He could not help but laugh in his mind that the women here have become vicious vipers ready to strike at even those of their same faction. He was being left alone because they heard what the demigod guard said but that does not mean they will not send their message clear to him.
“They are not even bothered to hide their bloodlust.” Adrian thought as he saw that the guard returned.
“Follow me and remember what I am going to tell you.” The guard stated and the vicious glares died down.
“Yes, master.” Adrian stated.
“Chiyou is not in the best of moods right now because of his recent injuries that are taking too long to heal. Make sure to just deliver your message and nothing else because the last one that had funny ideas had her tongue cut off.” The guard stated as he did not want to drag a corpse back.
“Understood. Is there anything else that I should pay attention to?” Adrian asked.
“We will be near the Samadhi True Fire so make sure that you do not have anything that could trigger spiritual attacks.” The guard stated.
“I have nothing like that at all, master.” Adrian replied with a smile.
