Chapter 2538: The Vast Rocky Expanse II

The Vast Rocky Expanse is certainly something that should always be a forbidden zone. It is a vast piece of rocky land that has no sign of life as trees are not present in this place. Even water barely touches the rocky walls as if all of the area is purely rock. If there is a water source, then it would be underground as there are no rivers or springs seen when Adrian traversed the lands.

“Flying would have been easier but the monsters that fly in this place are Rock Wyverns. They do not use magical attacks, but they will latch onto you and use their weight to pull you down and crush you. They also operate it packs which means that you will get delivered to the ground by three of them.” Adrian muttered as he grumbled because stamina loss is high in forbidden zones.

“Why not come and sit with us? I am sure Sirius could carry all four of us though.” Creepysoo stated.

“If that happened then it will be Sirius losing stamina more. Also, I am just grumbling because we cannot fly as that will also get more attention from the enemy. We are using the element of surprise after all.” Adrian stated as he switched to his twin dagger mode to move faster than before.

The other guild members had some difficulties in traversing the area, but they all got lucky. No monsters attacked the areas they traversed in and all of them are well prepared. Some even showed skills that could bypass golems entirely as some are very good at manipulating the magic flow of inanimate objects.

“How far are we to the area we need to be?” Kabrakan asked.

“We are only a few minutes away. Maybe about five since we got sidetracked by numerous monsters that came our way.” Adrian answered.

Just as Adrian predicted, all of them managed to reach the area they marked in under five minutes. As soon as they arrived, Adrian immediately summoned Charon to check the area. He also summoned Kenos to check if the area is really volatile in mana. He wanted to know if he can freely cast spells within the forbidden area as he really finds it difficult to do so in areas like this.

It is not just Adrian, but any mage will have difficulty in casting spells when they are in a forbidden zone. The mana in the air is volatile which means some spells could fizzle out or even be enhanced depending on what attribute is abundant. A volatile mana field also means that mana storms could happen which disrupts the mana in the atmosphere which leads to magic exploding right at the face of the caster.

“Master, the mana here is a bit stable but there are some fluctuations. It should be suitable to use your magic here as I can also use mine but with increase mana consumption.” Kenos reported.

“There are no signs of life that are near us, master.” Charon reported as he also came back.

“Thank you for your assistance. All of you must rest for now while I will try and check everything.” Adrian stated as he changed to his mirror demon form and scattered mirrors all over.

“I hate this rocky terrain.” Solstice stated as she is suddenly reminded of the bootcamps that she did with her mother. She and Adrian would always be dragged to a mountain to hike as training. They always hated that which is why she tends to stay away from mountains if she could. She did not expect that even mountains are a pain inside a game.

Equinox (Guild Master): We have arrived at our location.

“It seems that my brother is there. Hunting Squad, prepare yourselves as the signal will be fired anytime now.” Solstice stated as they also arrived in the area they needed to be.

Ark (Guild Member): We are in position as well.

Adrian used his mirrors to check everything that needs to be done. He managed to see the other two locations where the other guild members are. It seems that all have reached their destination without any problems. The shadow unit did give them the most ideal routes where monsters rarely attacked as long as one could go unnoticed.

“Let us start then.” Adrian stated as he fused with Kenos.

[You have used Perfect Assimilation.]

[You have fused with Kenos.]

[Stats of your soulbound will be overlayed to you as well.]

Adrian changed to a humanoid form because the beast form will make it difficult to control. The beast mode with Kenos is powerful because he could easily slice space with it, but the refinement is not there. The thing that he needs is finesse which meant that the humanoid form is needed. As soon as he fused with Kenos, all the mirrors took on the form of his assimilated nature which is insect like and spatial energy.

The mirrors looked like swirling portals instead of actual mirrors which made it incredibly beautiful. As soon as Adrian made the other mirrors visible for the guild members, the plan has started to commence. One large mirror faced Ark’s team while the other mirror faced Solstice’ team. Kabrakan also jumped inside the mirror to go to Solstice’ location has he is needed there.

“Can you handle the output, big bro?” The distance we have from each other is crazy.” Creepysoo asked.

“I can but I can only maintain those two mirrors from those locations. This also means that we only have one shot at this, so your curses better be worth it.” Adrian stated.

“We will not disappoint you.” Creepysoo and Hexy stated as they became serious.

Creepysoo and Hexy suddenly joined hands as they started chanting something that made the air around them stale. The Necronomicon even flipped into the page of the spell they are chanting together. Even Hexy’s weapon started to dance with the Necronomicon as if they were resonating with each other.
