Chapter 2537: The Vast Rocky Expanse

The arrival of the werewolves suddenly sparked the rivalry between their species. Adrian did not say anything, but he made his position clear as his aura suddenly enveloped the entire guild hall. An aura so regal and dignified but also incredibly cold and dark when it needs to be. The two loud groups suddenly shut themselves up as soon as Adrian signaled them that he has no time for games.

“It is good that the werewolves are participating because your ancestors also signed the agreement. I would not fight each other if I were you because both of your groups are in the same both. If one fails, then both of your groups will still get the punishment. This is a pact made with a vow with the world after all.” Adrian stated with a smile, but his eyes were sharp enough to slice even air.

“We apologize, Mediator.” The leader of the werewolf elders stated.

“Have you been given the information?” Adrian asked as he would explain once again if the werewolves needed.

“We have been given the information about the problem. Do not worry about the Strigoi as we will be able to defeat them easily with our hunting packs.” The leader of the werewolf elders stated.

“If that is the case then we are all set for now. I think it is time for a feast since a major battle is going to happen.” Adrian stated as the door opened, and food came inside.

Even though the two groups wanted to fight, they all focused on the food once they got a taste. You could even see that they did not spare anything as all of the food that was served got emptied out. This was Solstice’ idea as she believed that food could make anyone cordial. Adrian then told them that they would move out at the specific time and place.

“Do not worry, Mediator. We will be at the specified location at our end and all of us will be on time. I cannot say much for the fanged ones that literally sleep for decades but the werewolves will be there.” The leader of the werewolf elders stated as Lycan escorted them back to inform the others.

“We shall be on time and even early as we respect time more than those stinky mutts. Please believe that we will give it our all in cleaning the mess made by Akasha.” The head representative of the vampire council stated as they vanished in smoke after all has been done.

“Okay then. The guild will now move in groups that have been assigned to all of you. We will need to move quick as Awraka reported that something is strange in the Bloodstone Quarry.” Adrian stated.

Awraka and the shadow unit reported that the behavior of the vampires located in the Bloodstone Quarry were strange. Most of them just stood guard as they protected the Crazed Blood Queen Akasha in all corners despite the place only having one entrance. The crazy thing that they also witnessed is that the Strigoi were feeding on the remains of the dead humans.

Adrian found this strange though as he usually gets reports from gods or goddesses of death about things like this. There should have been some reports if there are a lot of dead beings since their souls go to the afterlife, but it seems that nothing is being sent. If that was the case, then he feared that the Crazed Blood Queen Akasha was doing something more sinister than he imagined.

As soon as the available guild members gathered, all of them immediately got sent to the Vast Rocky Expanse thanks for Adrian’s magic. They were all moving from different points though as moving in a group in a forbidden zone like the Vast Rocky Expanse is akin to painting yourself as a target. The monsters in this area respond to vibrations and anything that moves.

This is the reason why only the shadow unit could sneak past this forbidden zone without any fight happening. This is also the reason why the Vast Rocky Expanse is a treasure throve for players that are scouts and explorers. They have skills that decrease their presence or hide what others perceive them as. Still, even those skills are not godlike in this forbidden territory as there are lots of other special monsters that roam.

Even the shadow unit did not move all at once in a large group as they did three person pairings. Fortunately, Adrian is at least able to send them in the middle section of the Vast Rocky Expanse as the mana there was not as unstable. They only needed to regroup in the Bloodstone Quarry in two hours as the time it takes to travel there would be an hour and a half as long as they do not fight any monster.

Adrian is grouped with Kabrakan, Creepysoo, and Hexy. He did not choose this grouping because if he did then he would have prepared to be alone. The group that was chosen for him was not really ideal for sneaking around. One was heavy and the other two were slower than a snail. Creepysoo and Hexy also give off miasma which attracts some monsters to them as miasma is still a viable energy that can be used for evolution.

“I suddenly feel really weird about this.” Creepysoo stated as he was turned into a small undead because Adrian needed to carry him and the others for faster travel.

“Just suck it up because we are the slowest among the guild members. Our builds are really min maxed to oblivion but that also mean we are good at our niches.” Hexy stated as she seems to have warmed up to Creepysoo and able to bluntly oppose him. She also looks like what a fairy is depicted because she turned herself into a one-foot tall, winged being.

“I worry that we are not enough though. We only have half our roster, and our greatest healer is not with us. Even Vayu and Soleil cannot come because of the problem in Alfheim.” Kabrakan stated as he looked like a small child in a bull costume.

All three of them were transformed into smaller version of themselves. All three of them are also hanging onto Sirius’ fur and fastened with shadows to prevent them from falling off. Adrian needed them to be transported to the fastest speed as possible, and this is the solution that he came up with. They did not care about transforming smaller though as they are literally enjoying the ride provided by Sirius.

“I can detect a golem. Sirius, hide us.” Adrian stated as he and the others were swallowed by the shadows.

Just as Adrian warned, a large golem made of quartz suddenly came rolling. The golems in the Vast Rocky Expanse were not normal golems that had humanoid shapes. All of the golems here had different sizes and shapes such as the one that passed through. The quarts golem floated using magic and just looked like a flying hexagon.

The shadow unit warned them about the Quartz Golem as they are relentless in their pursuit if they lock onto you. They can also fire beams of concentrated energy that can melt bones. It is also incredibly durable against magic and would take an hour to even kill it as it can also move its core freely inside its body. As soon as the Quartz Golem passed through without detecting them, Adrian and the others rose from the shadows and continued on with their adventure.

“My queen… it seems that the vampires are starting to move but it is not something that we can comprehend why.” One of the vampires serving the Crazed Blood Queen Akasha stated.

“I wanted them to move. Why? Are they delaying their investigation by a month when I practically revealed our location yesterday when I sacrificed one of my pawns?” The Crazed Blood Queen Akasha stated.

“They are moving to the Edelblud estate instead of preparing to charge towards here. Even the spies that we have planted cannot ascertain why but that is what the vampires of the council told them. It seems that the Edelblud estate will hold a feast to honor the aspiring queen for defeating Bathory.” The vampire servant stated.

“They are celebrating instead of turning their attention to me. I should toss more bait then. Sacrifice that spy that you have planted by letting him confess of his wrongdoing. Make sure to let him tell even the exact location of this place. We need vampires to be sacrificed in this ritual. The older the vampire then the better the sacrifice. Do you want me to sacrifice your entire family instead?” The Crazed Blood Queen Akasha stated as her red eyes made the vampire servant scared to directly look at her.

“If that is the queen’s wish then this humble one will obey.” A vampire servant stated or rather a former member of the vampire council stated.
