Chapter 869 - 870: She Just Wants to Eat Meat
"Yes, of course, I’d love to treat my benefactor."
"You don’t have to call me that in the future, you can just call me Brother Elias or Brother Hale."
Elias Hale took advantage of Melody Thorne’s amnesia, something he wouldn’t dare do if she were aware.
"Mm... that seems inappropriate. People who casually call someone ’brother’ usually are younger lovers or something. How about I just call you Mr. Hale instead."
Elias Hale: "...Just call me by my name."
How can she still hold her ground even with amnesia!
"Alright, where shall we meet later?"
Elias gave her an address and Melody Thorne hung up the phone, changed her clothes. As it was early autumn, the nights were a bit chilly, so she wore a warm, yellow wool coat.
At the restaurant, dinner had already been ordered.
"Come, see if there’s anything you like to eat," Elias Hale, dressed in a suit with a brown scarf, stood by the window.
"Wow, what’s this?" Timmy was the first to grab a toy on the table—a robot he liked, imported!
"Do you like it? Last time I came in a rush and didn’t bring you a gift, so this time I had it sent over from abroad." Elias Hale chuckled softly and tossed the cigarette in his hand into the trash bin.
"I like it," Timmy nodded. "You’re so nice, Uncle Hale."
"Did you order all of this?" Melody Thorne glanced around, "Why is it all vegetarian? You don’t eat meat?"
There wasn’t a shred of meat on the table.
The waiter also gave Elias Hale a perplexed look, as someone so handsome didn’t seem like he’d be short on money!
"Yes, I’ve given up meat." Elias Hale smiled gently; he wore glasses today, adding an air of sophistication.
"But I like eating meat," Timmy spoke up.
"I also like eating meat," Melody Thorne quickly nodded, "Especially foie gras."
Yet Elias Hale showed no intention of indulging them.
"It’s not good to eat too much meat, eat more vegetables, especially foie gras. It’s better for a swan to live well than to eat its liver."
Melody Thorne: "...Alright."
Elias Hale must be a Zen kind of guy. If he had a girlfriend, she’d probably end up running off with someone else!
"By the way, you keep mentioning that I saved your life. Where was that? I don’t really remember it?" Elias Hale asked.
"Hm? You don’t remember? It was when I was quite small."
"Oh, I don’t remember."
He really didn’t remember.
"Eat more of this; it’s good for those with blood clots in their brain," Elias Hale picked some up for her.
"Yes."
"By the way, do you know why people become more powerful after they lose their memory?" Melody Thorne said while biting her chopsticks.
Earlier today, when she got into a fight, no one came to help, yet all those women ended up on the ground. It was really strange.
Elias Hale looked at her as if she were an idiot, "Are you joking?"
"I’m not."
"Then it’s probably that you were quite skilled even before the amnesia."
He remembered Melody Thorne always being a feisty one.
"So it seems I was pretty strong before too," Melody Thorne’s chopstick clattered as she bit down, suddenly gaining an interest in medicine.
"Elias Hale, do you take on apprentices?" she asked softly.
"Cough, cough," Elias Hale choked on the wine he was drinking, "You want to learn?"
Does she really think Jared Quinn, with so many people around him skilled in medicine, would let Melody Thorne follow him to learn?
"Yes, I do. I’ve suddenly found that I’m quite interested in medicine. Why don’t I become your apprentice and you teach me?"
Elias Hale: "...Get Jared Quinn’s approval first before discussing it with me. I’m okay with it."
The key issue was that she had numerous collaboration projects with the Quinn Family, and Jared Quinn was a jealous type, so they couldn’t joke about this.
"Alright."
