Chapter 1650: Departure and Recognition

Chapter 1650: Departure and Recognition

“…I’m glad to see you’re handling it quite well.”

“…I wouldn’t say sweating while talking to you is considered handling it quite well, but sure.”

Whoosh!

Hearing a cacophony of voices constantly whisper demise and despair at the recesses of his mind, Ataraxia tried his best to endure the unnerving sensation, feeling a hint of remorse at having accepted the man’s offer.

“To be honest, a great number of people I’ve come across with a similar level of mental fortitude as you have shown similar expressions the first time they’ve accepted the crystal,” said Aeramis, his expression a mix of calm and relief.

“With time, your mind shall become resistant to it, eventually reaching a point where it wouldn’t be impossible for you to have the crystal on you at all times.”

“Of course, it comes as no surprise that constantly enduring the voices from the crystal also improves your resistance against similar illusions, which is an additional bonus on top of the rewards you could redeem after saving up enough points.”

Swoosh!

Though he pushed himself to endure the crystal’s whispers for a bit longer, the young man eventually placed the crystal containing the remnant will within his spatial bracelet, immediately feeling relief wash over him the moment he did so.

“That’ll take a long while to get used to.”

Taking in a few deep breaths to calm both his nerves and senses, Ataraxia soon returned his attention towards Aeramis as a couple of questions regarding the crystal came to mind.

“You’re not lying to me, right?” he asked the man, his expression containing a hint of doubt. “Treasures related to improving Legacies and concepts are available, right?”

“As a Senior Guardian of the Alem’volen Resistance, I assure you that treasures of that caliber are within reach at your level, especially if you were to attempt an active resistance against the remnant will,” replied Aeramis, which surprisingly caused the young man to shudder.

However, it wasn’t because of the difficulty that came with the remnant will.

Instead, it was due to the name of the scheme he had become a part of… as well as the position Aeramis had within that scheme.

“…Say, if I had rejected your offer of accepting the crystal from the start, what would have happened?”

Seeing as he had no other reason to remain within the inheritance, Ataraxia decided that now was the best time to leave and return with the others.

Though, just as he was about to ask Aeramis to send him out, a question related to the entire scheme came out of his mouth instead.

“I would have probably reduced the number of rewards you obtained after clearing the inheritance,” replied the man, his tone stating as if it were a matter of fact. “I would have also probably reduced the quality of rewards as well.”

“Why do you ask?”

“…Nothing.”

Getting the slight feeling that he wasn’t the only one from his guild that had been given the same opportunity by Aeramis, the young man decided not to dwell on it any further, prompting the two of them to finally part ways.

“…Finally.”

Whoosh!

Shifting his attention away from the sensations Ataraxia was sharing with him through [Soul Entanglement], Valyr let out a wide sigh of relief after seeing his other self finally leave the inheritance.

“After spending over half a year helping my other self comprehend various things from the inheritance, I’m finally free to do other stuff again,” muttered the young man to himself, lying on the ground for a bit as he sorted out his thoughts.

“Then again, with how much he’s gained from it, it’s kind of tempting for me to head there and attempt it myself.”

As this thought came to mind, the young man went ahead and sent a message to Ataraxia through their shared connection, asking if it was possible for the latter to arrange an opportunity to enter the inheritance.

In response, the latter told him that he could take the inheritance at any time, which undoubtedly caused Valyr to widely smile after receiving that message.

Though, once he received the next message that came from his other self, the smile on his face immediately turned crooked, only for him to let out a wry chuckle soon after.

“…Guess I’ll save the inheritance for another time,” muttered Valyr as he pondered over the various thoughts he needed to do now that he was done helping Ataraxia with the inheritance.

“I did promise him I’d craft sets of armor for his guild members, after all.”

Standing up after that, the young man went ahead and did a few basic stretches before heading out of the building he stayed in for the past half year.

Whoosh!

Being greeted by the sun’s warm rays the moment he got out, Valyr soon had a faint smile on his face as he took in his surroundings.

’Aside from the armor sets, I still have to work on the request the empire gave me regarding the arquebus.’

Faintly nodding and waving at all the people that passed by him, the young man continued to go over the things he had to do, arranging them in his mind in order of importance.

’Then, there’s the quest I received from the system involving electricity,’ inwardly muttered the young man to himself, his expression turning slightly pensive.

’Speaking of which, I also have a couple other quests I’ve yet to finish, as well as places I need to go to.’

’…I think I also have a quest that I’ve already finished but haven’t looked at yet?’ Ths chapter is updated by N0veI.Fiɾe.net

“…lyr!”

“…ey! Valyr!”

“Valyr!”

“Hmm?” Hearing someone call for his name, the young man stopped in his tracks as he briefly pushed his train of thought to the side.

Looking around him to see who called for him, his gaze soon stopped on a sickly-looking man, the man’s get-up a stark contrast to the last time the young man had seen him.

“What’s the matter, Ryvrthe?” asked Valyr, his expression containing a hint of concern. “Is there a problem with the power generation?”

“…A bit, but it won’t be long until it’s all resolved.” Slightly taken aback by the latter’s question, it took a while for Ryvrthe to regain his prior train of thought. “However, that’s not why I was looking for you.”

“It’s about the kingdom.”

“The kingdom?” said the young man, only for his eyes to soon widen in realization. “Wait, you’re telling me…?”

“Indeed.” Ryvrthe nodded with a grin.

“They’ve officially recognized your territory as a fledgling town.”
