Chapter 1618: Breaking Barriers: The Third Trial (13)

As Ataraxia pondered over the idea some more, the more he felt like this was the route he should take for his movement skill.

After all, with how massive his energy pool was and how quickly it recovered because of it, having a movement skill like that meant that he could rest easy in pretty much any situation that warranted such a skill.

…Even in a situation where he was forced to use it forever.

Though, as he continued to mull over the benefits a movement skill like that would have over the ones he had already created, the young man also began to doubt its feasibility.

“Is it even possible to make a movement skill that only relies on energy?” asked Ataraxia to himself, his gaze slowly turning towards the calm water of the lake.

Slightly frowning as he pondered over it for a bit more, the young man eventually came to the conclusion that the only way to find the answer to his question was for him to try making one himself.

And thus, although still somewhat doubtful that it could be done, Ataraxia made his way back to where he usually created his movement skills, confident of the new movement skill’s prospects.

Whoosh!

Sparing a glance to check where Aeramis was, the young man did not take long to direct his senses inward, swiftly arriving at the void within him where all of his energies resided.

Looking at the Lesser Arcana and the Mystic Energy that had taken up their own specific corners of the void, Ataraxia went ahead and made his way towards the region containing Lesser Arcana, only to then make a construct that mimicked the nodes in his body.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

With him having constructed over thousands of energy circuits for skills throughout his two attempts, the young man had gained the confidence to delve a bit deeper into the region of Lesser Arcana, allowing the construct he created to be more stable and powerful in the process.

’…This construct should be able to withstand 50% more power.’

Faintly nodding in satisfaction at the solid energy construct he’d created, Ataraxia went ahead and willed some of the Lesser Arcana, as well as strands containing the Intent Seed of Spell Control to manifest in front of him.

Swoosh!

Then, making use of the optimized braiding technique he’d come up with during his second attempt, he weaved both energy and concept together, forming a small yet sturdy strand that was capable of containing and unleashing more power than before.

’For the circuit, I guess it would be best if I combined the one I used for the second attempt, and change some of the nodes on the circuit to reference the ones that came before it.’

Briefly pondering over the circuit he would use to power the movement skill, the young man did not take long to draft up a modification of the circuit he used during the second attempt, confident that it would exert around 20% more power than the one before it.

’Go.’

Whoosh!

Making sure that the overall flow of the resulting circuit was smooth, it was only then did Ataraxia will the strand of energy and concept to pass through the path he devised, watching as the power contained within it grew stronger.

’…Should I swap out the concept for the Intent Seed of True Mana?’ While continuing to keep an eye on the growing power of the strand, a thought regarding the concept the skill used popped up in the young man’s mind.

’After all, with the movement skill now purely relying on energy, it would probably be better to have a concept that enhances that aspect.’

’…But then again, I still don’t know how I’m exactly going to transform the resulting power of the circuit without relying on movement.’ The young man faintly scratched the back of his head at this thought.

’If that’s the case, I guess it’s better to stick with the current concept, then?’

Swoosh!

Continuing to ponder over which concept he should use for the skill, the young man eventually witnessed the strand reach the end of his devised circuit, exuding a level of power that was within his initial expectations.

Deciding to push the limits of the circuit he made a bit more, Ataraxia made great use of [Perception of the Grand Origin] to go over the circuit in his head, allowing him to devise a node route that increased the output of the circuit even further.

At the same time, he was able to make up his mind on which concept he would use for this brand new movement skill.

’Since the two Intent Seeds focus on two different aspects of spells, then it’d be best if I just used the two of them to power the movement skill, no?’

Indeed.

While making use of the passive skill the Administrators gifted them, the young man spent a bit of time pondering over the method he would use to transform the circuit’s power into something that would propel him forward.

Fortunately, it did not take too much time for him to obtain his answer, which was magic circles.

From what he had come up with, he planned on using magic circles to replace the movements he usually made to tap into the circuit’s power.

And since magic circles relied heavily on both the user and the energy infused into it, it only made sense that he should use both of the concepts he had comprehended and infuse it into the skill.

After all, with the need to move having been removed, the movement skill now seemed like more like the usual magic spell.

The only difference between those and the movement skill he was planning to make was that all of the magic circles would be cast on the surface of his body.

Whoosh!

And so, with his mind made up on the concepts being used, as well as the method to harness the circuit’s strength, it did not take long for Ataraxia to finalize the skill’s circuit, which unleash a level of power that was around twice as strong as the one he made for his second attempt.

After that, he devised all of the magic circles he would use to transform the circuit’s power into movement, eventually coming up with nine that seemed to encompass most of the scenarios where a movement skill would be necessary.

’In the end, I found a way to draft entire movement skills in here before testing them out in the real world,’ thought Ataraxia, chuckling as he continued to work on the movement skill a bit more.
