Mafia Lord's Mute Sweetheart

Chapter 99 Shame and Embarrassment

Chapter 99: Chapter 99 Shame and Embarrassment

Alessio called out. "Come in."

The door opened.

A large, muscular man covered in tattoos stepped inside, carrying a neatly packed shopping bag. His rough appearance looked intimidating enough to frighten most people with thick arms and a serious expression.

Yet today, his ears were bright red.

He awkwardly walked over and placed the bag on Alessio’s desk without daring to look anyone in the eye.

The man said, his voice unusually stiff. "Boss... everything you asked for."

When he had rushed into the nearby pharmacy to buy the sanitary pads, the elderly shopkeeper had looked at him with the warmest smile.

"Young man," she had said while packing everything carefully, "your girlfriend is very lucky. Not every boyfriend is thoughtful enough to buy these things without being asked."

He had tried to explain, to tell her that it wasn’t for his girlfriend, that it was for his boss!!

But the old woman had already started recommending different brands with an approving smile, not giving him a chance to correct her.

By the time he left the shop, every customer there had been looking at him as though he were the most devoted boyfriend in the world.

Alessio gave a brief nod. "Good."

Only then did the tattooed man finally risk a glance toward Daisy.

She looked at him with wide, grateful eyes before giving him a gentle smile and a small bow of thanks.

The intimidating man’s face became even redder.

...She thanked me?

He scratched the back of his neck awkwardly.

Alessio frowned slightly. "You have other work, right?"

"Yes, yes, boss. I’m leaving." The man walked toward the door.

Daisy bowed to him again, a small, polite gesture of gratitude.

His eyes widened and he felt a glare on his back. He didn’t dare to linger any longer and hurried out of the office, closing the door behind him.

The room fell silent.

Daisy looked at the shopping bag, then at Alessio. Her cheeks were still pink, but her eyes were warm.

She gave him a small, grateful smile.

Thank you. For everything.

Alessio simply nodded.

He gestured toward the bag. "There’s a bathroom attached to the office. You can change there."

Daisy nodded, picked up the bag, and walked toward the bathroom.

After changing into the fresh clothes, Daisy finally felt herself relax.

The uncomfortable anxiety that had followed her after knowing about her periods slowly faded away.

The soft rosy-pink dress Alessio had sent for her was comfortable and light, the fabric gentle against her skin. It had a simple, elegant cut with a modest neckline and a skirt that fell just above her knees. She smoothed the fabric with her hands and took a deep breath, feeling the tension in her shoulders ease.

Her period had always been like this. The first day was usually manageable, with little pain and a normal flow.

That was why she had been caught completely off guard today. She had been so absorbed in her work that she hadn’t noticed the signs until it was too late. The cramping had been mild, almost non-existent and she had assumed everything was fine.

But the second, third, and even the fourth day, they were always much heavier.

She carefully folded her stained clothes and placed them inside the shopping bag, along with Alessio’s suit jacket.

Seeing the faint stain on the expensive black fabric made her cheeks burn with embarrassment.

I stained his jacket...

She lowered her head guiltily, her fingers lingering on the jacket for a moment before she set it down. The fabric was soft and clearly expensive, the kind of jacket that cost more than she could afford to replace and she had ruined it.

Her stomach twisted with shame.

When she finally stepped out of the restroom, Alessio was still waiting in his office.

He was standing near the window, his back to her, his hands in his pockets. The afternoon light streamed through the glass, casting a soft glow around his figure.

He turned as he heard her footsteps. His gaze instinctively lifted toward her.

For a brief moment, he simply looked at her.

The soft rosy-pink dress suited her perfectly. Its simple design highlighted her natural beauty instead of overshadowing it. The fabric fell just above her knees, and the delicate color made her fair skin appear even more radiant. Her long caramel hair rested gently over her shoulders, and the warm hue of the dress brought out the softness in her features.

She looked... beautiful.

The thought entered his mind before he could stop it.

Realizing he had been staring for a second too long, Alessio quietly looked away. His jaw tightened slightly and he focused his gaze on the window behind her.

Daisy noticed nothing. She was too focused on the shopping bag in her hands, too focused on the embarrassment still lingering in her chest.

She walked over, holding the bag carefully in both hands. Her steps were light, her expression still carrying a hint of shame.

Stopping in front of him, she bowed deeply once again.

Thank you.

Alessio looked at her.

Then, almost unconsciously, he spoke.

"...Have you realized how many times you’ve thanked me today?"

Daisy blinked. She straightened up slowly, her brows furrowing slightly. She hadn’t been counting, but now that he mentioned it, she realized she had thanked him several times. In the hallway. In his office. When his man brought the bag and now again.

She bit her lower lip.

Her fingers moved hesitantly, signing softly.

I’m sorry...

Alessio’s expression remained unchanged but something in his eyes flickered.

She lowered her eyes, her lashes casting shadows on her cheeks.

Then slowly looked back up at him, her eyes had become watery.

I didn’t know thanking you so much would annoy you...

The tiny, apologetic gestures were enough to make Alessio’s heart skip unexpectedly. Her voice was silent, but her expression carried so much weight. She looked like a child who had been scolded for something she didn’t understand.
