Chapter 94 Suspicion
Chapter 94: Chapter 94 Suspicion
Before getting into the car, Daisy turned toward Alessio.
She smiled softly.
Then she gave him a small, sincere bow. It was a simple gesture, yet it carried so much gratitude that words were unnecessary. Her hands pressed together briefly in front of her chest, a silent thank you that spoke louder than any spoken word ever could.
Thank you.
Alessio looked at her for a brief moment. The late evening light caught the edges of his sharp features, softening them just slightly. His green eyes held hers for a second longer than necessary.
Then he gave a small nod.
"Mm."
That was all he said.
Yet, for some reason, it felt more than enough.
The two climbed back into the car.
Rafael was still completely absorbed in his phone call with Eva, not even noticing they had returned. His voice was unusually sweet, almost unrecognizable from the usual teasing tone he carried.
The moment Alessio started the engine, Rafael’s overly sweet voice echoed through the car.
Rafael said with a grin that could practically be heard through the phone. "Okay... okay... I’ll bring you your favorite ice cream."
A tiny pause.
"No, two tubs."
Another pause.
"...What? Chocolate and strawberry? Fine, I’ll bring both."
His voice became even softer, almost tender. "No, you don’t have to thank me. Anything for my princess."
Alessio’s fingers tightened around the steering wheel. His eyebrows twitched. His jaw tightened. He stared straight ahead, his expression unreadable.
Then he slowly rolled his eyes toward the ceiling.
"...Pathetic."
Rafael either didn’t hear him or chose to ignore him.
Meanwhile, Daisy sat quietly in the back seat. She couldn’t help overhearing the conversation.
Her ears gradually turned pink. A warm flush crept up her neck and settled on her cheeks.
She lowered her gaze, trying very hard not to smile.
The way Rafael and Eva talked to each other was so openly affectionate that it made her feel oddly embarrassed just listening.
Rafael continued happily. "And then we’ll watch that movie together. I’ll even feed you popcorn if you want."
Daisy’s cheeks grew even warmer. She quickly looked out of the window, pretending to admire the passing scenery with exaggerated interest.
Alessio caught the faint blush reflected in the rearview mirror.
His eyes lingered on her flushed cheeks for only a second before returning to the road.
Alessio said flatly. "...Can you keep your conversation to yourself?"
Rafael blinked. "Huh? Why?"
"You sound ridiculous."
Rafael gasped dramatically, pressing his hand to his chest as if he had been mortally wounded. "This is called romance, bro."
Alessio’s face remained completely expressionless. "...If that’s romance, I’d rather stay single forever."
Daisy bit the inside of her cheek to stop herself from laughing but the tiny smile still escaped onto her lips.
Through the rearview mirror, Alessio caught that smile.
For some reason... he didn’t find Rafael’s conversation quite as annoying anymore.
On the other line, Eva’s voice suddenly became frantic.
Eva practically screamed. "Oh my God!! Alessio is with you?!"
Rafael burst into laughter. "Yeah!"
The next second, an explosion of muffled sounds came from the speaker.
"Arghhh! Ahhh! Why didn’t you tell me earlier?!"
"I was talking all that cheesy stuff in front of him?!"
"Oh no... this is so embarrassing!"
Rafael laughed even harder, his shoulders shaking with amusement.
Before he could tease her further...
Beep.
The call abruptly ended.
Rafael stared at his phone for a second, blinking in surprise. Then he shook his head with an amused smile.
"...She hung up."
Alessio didn’t even react. "As expected."
Meanwhile, Daisy quietly covered her lips with her hand, trying to hide the smile threatening to escape. Her eyes sparkled with suppressed laughter.

When they reached Evermont’s mansion, Daisy thanked them for giving her a lift. Holding the little pastel orange notebook bag close to her chest, she gave both brothers another polite bow before stepping out of the car.
The evening breeze gently brushed against her hair as she walked toward the mansion.
For a brief moment, she turned back.
The black car was still there.
Alessio sat behind the wheel, his hands resting on the steering wheel as the engine idled quietly. Their eyes met for only a heartbeat.
Daisy smiled softly.
Then she turned around and disappeared through the mansion gates.
Only after the gates closed behind her did Alessio press the accelerator.
The car slowly pulled away.

Meanwhile...
Hundreds of kilometers away, Jenna was pacing inside her luxury hotel suite while speaking on the phone with one of the maids from Evermont’s mansion.
She had already been in Jade Bay for more than a week, trying to clean up the mess Jasmine had created.
The mere thought of that woman made Jenna’s blood boil.
Jasmine had once been Cedric’s first love, girlfriend, and now she had somehow become his assistant again. Jenna was convinced the woman had done it intentionally. Every elegant seductive dress, every smile, every excuse to stay close to Cedric looked like another attempt to steal him away.
She had enough to worry about already.
Now the maid’s report only made her mood worse.
The maid said cautiously. "Madam... I thought you should know something."
Jenna stopped pacing. "What is it?"
"It’s about Mrs. Daisy."
Jenna frowned. "What about her?"
The maid hesitated before answering. "She’s been leaving the mansion almost every day. She goes out in the morning and returns in the evening. This has been happening regularly."
Jenna’s eyes narrowed instantly. "What?" Her voice rose several degrees. "Every day?"
"Yes, Madam."
Silence filled the room.
Jenna slowly sat down on the edge of the bed, her fingers tightening around her phone.
Daisy...
That quiet, timid, mute girl who usually kept her head lowered. The girl who barely spoke to anyone. The girl Jenna had always considered too weak and too frightened to do anything on her own...
She was going out every single day?
Where?
And for what?
A cold suspicion slowly rose into Jenna’s heart.
Jenna asked sharply. "Where does she go?"
