Mafia Lord's Mute Sweetheart

Chapter 76 Ma’am, are you cheating on Cedric sir?

Chapter 76: Chapter 76 Ma’am, are you cheating on Cedric sir?

Alessio opened his door. He walked around to her side and opened her door.

Daisy hesitated. She looked at the mansion. Then at him. Then back at the mansion. The walls seemed to loom taller in the darkness, the windows like hollow eyes staring back at her, judging her before she even stepped inside. The familiar dread settled in her stomach, heavy and cold.

She shook her head.

She was anxious. If the guards or anyone saw her with an unknown man, they would report it to Cedric or her mother-in-law. She would be punished. She would be humiliated. She would be locked in her room for days, maybe weeks. The thought made her stomach churn and her hands began to tremble again.

She gestured frantically, her hands moving in quick, panicked motions.

No. Please. I can go alone.

Alessio’s expression did not change. He looked at her, his green eyes deep and calm, as if he could see right through her fear, as if he understood exactly what she was afraid of and did not care.

He bent down and scooped her into his arms.

Daisy’s eyes widened. Her breath caught. She looked up at him, her face flushed with shock and embarrassment. Her heart hammered against her ribs, each beat loud and frantic.

What are you doing?

Alessio did not answer.

He carried her toward the gates.

Daisy’s heart pounded. She looked around frantically, her eyes scanning the grounds for any sign of the guards. The garden was dark and still, the trees casting long shadows across the lawn. The only light came from the moon, pale and cold, offering no warmth, no comfort.

A guard appeared at the gate.

He was tall and broad, his face hard and suspicious, his uniform crisp and neat. His eyes widened when he saw Daisy in the arms of a strange man. His hand moved instinctively to his radio, his posture shifting into a defensive stance.

The guard said sharply, his voice demanding. "Ma’am? What is this? Who is this man?"

Daisy’s heart stopped.

She opened her mouth, but no sound came out. She couldn’t explain. She couldn’t defend herself. She could only shake her head, her eyes wide and desperate, her hands clutching at Alessio’s jacket.

Alessio looked at the guard. His green eyes were cold, hard as steel. "She is injured," Alessio said, his voice flat and authoritative. "I am taking her to her room."

The guard’s eyes narrowed, studying Alessio with suspicion. He took a step forward, his hand resting on his belt near his radio. His face was hard, his jaw tight.

The guard demanded, his voice rising. "Who are you?"

He did not wait for a reply. His eyes flicked to Daisy, then back to Alessio. His voice rose again, sharp and accusing.

The guard spat, his face twisted with anger. "Ma’am, are you cheating on Cedric sir? Are you bringing strange men into this house behind his back?"

His face was filled with anger, with righteous indignation. He looked at Daisy like she was dirt like she had done something unforgivable. His eyes burned with contempt.

Alessio’s eyes turned cold.

His aura changed. He was radiating a dark, cloudy aura, something dangerous and suffocating. His green eyes darkened with killing intent, and a dark smile appeared on his face. It was not a kind smile. It was the smile of a predator who had just found something to play with.

Alessio said slowly, his voice low and deadly. "Who are you to question your employer?"

The guard blinked. His mouth opened but no words came out.

Alessio stepped closer. His height made the guard shrink back, his confidence crumbling to the ground.

Alessio continued, his voice dripping with cold contempt. "Are you not aware that she is the wife of Cedric Evermont? What right do you have, a mere security guard, to question her? To accuse her? To speak to her like she is less than you?"

The guard’s face went pale. He took a step back, his hand falling away from his radio.

"I... I was just—" the guard stammered.

Alessio interrupted, his voice sharp as a blade. "You were just what? Doing your job? Following orders? Or just enjoying the feeling of power over someone you think is beneath you?"

The guard swallowed hard. He looked at Daisy, then back at Alessio. He opened his mouth to speak but no sound came out.

Alessio did not wait for his reply.

He turned and walked inside, carrying Daisy in his arms. His steps were causal and unhurried like he owned the place.

Daisy lowered her eyes. She could feel the guard’s stare on her back, judging her. She did not look up.

All the way, she pointed him through the hallways, guiding him with small gestures. He followed without question, his steps silent on the worn carpet.

He stopped at her door and pushed it open with his shoulder. He stepped inside, his eyes sweeping across the room.

It was small. Barely bigger than a closet. A narrow bed pushed against the wall, the sheets thin and worn, faded from years of use. A wooden chair with a cracked leg stood by the window. A wardrobe with a mirror, its surface clouded and old. A side table with a kettle and a few small bottles. A yellow scarf folded neatly on the chair.

The walls were bare.

A hint of contempt appeared in Alessio’s eyes. His jaw tightened. His hands, still holding her, curled slightly.

Cedric Evermont was one of the richest men in the city. He owned mansions, cars, businesses. He could afford anything. Everything.

And yet, when it came to his wife, he was stingy. He had given her nothing.

Alessio felt something cold settle in his heart.

He carried Daisy to the bed and laid her down gently. He pulled the thin blanket over her legs, his movements careful and deliberate.

Daisy looked up at him, blinking. Her dark eyes were wide, soft, confused. She looked like a doll, delicate and fragile, her caramel hair spread across the pillow like silk.

Alessio was taken aback by her gaze. He felt something shift in his heart, something he could not name. It was warm and unfamiliar, and it made his breath catch.

He asked softly, his voice almost gentle. "You good?"

Daisy nodded slowly. Her eyes never left his.

Alessio nodded back. He stepped away from the bed.

But Daisy did not let him leave.

She sat up, ignoring the ache in her knees. She reached for the yellow scarf on the chair, her fingers brushing against the soft fabric. She held it out to him.

Alessio looked at the scarf, then at her. His eyebrows furrowed slightly.

He asked, his voice curious. "What is this?"
