Mafia Lord's Mute Sweetheart

Chapter 171 Are you seeing him?

Chapter 171: Chapter 171 Are you seeing him?

Daisy looked at him as though he had lost his mind. Her eyes widened, and she quickly gestured, her hands moving frantically, explaining that Alessio had only been helping her. Her signs were fast, almost frantic, as if she was desperate for him to understand.

Cedric didn’t seem satisfied. "Helping you?" His voice dripped with skepticism. "Kissing is actually help? Haha, what a joke." He let out a bitter laugh, shaking his head in disbelief.

Alessio raised an eyebrow. "Yes. Helping."

Cedric glared at him. "I wasn’t asking you."

"I know." Alessio’s tone remained completely calm. "That’s why I answered."

Cedric’s face darkened. His jaw clenched so tightly that the muscles in his neck strained. "Stay out of this."

Alessio gave him a small, almost amused smile. "Then stop dragging me into it."

Daisy looked between them, already feeling a headache coming. The tension between the two men was suffocating, and she felt suffocated.

Cedric climbed out of bed. He flinched slightly in pain, his hand pressing against his injured side, but he forced himself forward. He took a step toward her, his blue eyes burning with something between anger and desperation.

"Daisy, I’m asking you seriously. Are you seeing him?"

Daisy’s expression changed.

She stared at him for several seconds, her dark eyes searching his face. Then slowly, she shook her head.

But then she pointed toward Jessica. Her gesture was simple, her eyes sharp with a hint of mockery. She pointed at Jessica, then at Cedric, then made a motion that clearly asked: What about you?

Cedric froze.

Jessica’s expression also changed slightly. Her confident smile disappeared for just a fraction of a second. Her eyes darted between Daisy and Cedric, suddenly uncertain.

Daisy looked directly at Cedric now. For once, there was no fear in her eyes. Only disbelief and quiet accusation.

Cedric opened his mouth.

Nothing came out.

Alessio’s lips twitched. He lowered his head slightly, hiding the faint smile that threatened to appear.

Daisy had finally asked the question he had been thinking.

Cedric looked toward Jessica and then back at Daisy.

"It’s not the same," he said weakly, his voice lacking its usual confidence.

Alessio couldn’t help himself. "Of course."

Cedric shot him a murderous look.

Alessio calmly continued, his voice dripping with mock innocence. "Because when you do it, it’s love. When she does it, it’s cheating."

Cedric’s expression became even darker. "Nobody asked for your opinion."

"No," Alessio replied casually, his green eyes gleaming with quiet satisfaction. "But you keep giving me reasons to have one."

"YOU!"

Cedric suddenly lost his temper.

He pushed himself away from the bed and rushed toward Alessio, anger flashing across his face as he raised his hand, clearly intending to hit him.

Alessio’s expression changed instantly.

The teasing smile disappeared. His green eyes turned sharp and his entire posture became still. He wasn’t frightened. If anything, he looked completely prepared for Cedric’s attempt.

But before either man could do anything, Daisy stepped between them.

She looked directly at Cedric.

Her expression was furious. Her nose had turned slightly red from anger, and her eyes were filled with pure disappointment. Her whole body was trembling with barely contained frustration.

She raised both hands firmly.

Enough.

Cedric froze.

Daisy stared at him for another second, her expression making it very clear that she was done with his behavior.

Then she turned toward Alessio.

She reached for his hand. Her small fingers wrapped around his much larger hand, and she immediately noticed the injury again.

The scrape on his knuckles had started bleeding slightly from all the movement.

Daisy’s eyes widened. She looked at him angrily. Then she pointed at his injured hand. She shook her head.

What were you thinking?

Alessio looked down at their hands. For some reason, the sight made his chest feel strangely warm.

He had seen her worried about him before. But this was different. She was angry because he had almost gotten into a fight while his hand was already injured.

He opened his mouth. "Daisy, I’m fine."

She immediately gave him a look that clearly said she didn’t believe a word.

Alessio almost smiled. She really was stubborn.

Daisy didn’t give him another chance to argue. She tightened her hold on his hand and pulled him toward the door.

Alessio glanced back once. Cedric was still standing there, staring at them with disbelief and anger. Alessio’s eyes met his. For a second, there was an unmistakable challenge between the two men.

But Alessio didn’t say anything. He simply allowed Daisy to pull him away.

The moment they stepped outside the room, Daisy continued walking down the corridor, still holding his hand. Her steps were quick. Her face was still flushed with anger.

Alessio followed quietly.

After they had gone far enough from the room, Daisy finally stopped.

She turned toward him. Her nose was still red and her eyes remained angry.

She pointed at his hand again. Then she pointed toward the treatment area.

Doctor.

Alessio sighed. "You’re really going to make me get this treated, aren’t you?"

Daisy nodded firmly.

He looked at her. Then at their hands. She still hadn’t released him. His gaze softened.

"Alright."

Daisy finally relaxed a little.

Alessio watched her for a moment. Then he quietly admitted to himself what he had been trying very hard not to admit.

He liked this. He liked the way she worried about him. He liked the way her small hand held his. He liked seeing that fierce expression on her face because she was angry on his behalf. And, more dangerously, he liked the fact that she had chosen to walk out of that room with him.

He couldn’t lie to himself anymore. Whatever he had originally told himself about simply being her friend was becoming harder and harder to believe.

And he knew it. He knew what was happening to him.

Daisy quickly found a nurse and brought Alessio over to have his hand treated. The nurse looked up when they approached, and the moment her eyes landed on Alessio, she paused for half a second.

He was standing there with his usual calm expression, dressed neatly despite the late hour, his injured hand resting at his side. Even with a small scrape across his knuckles, he somehow looked intimidating rather than vulnerable.

"Please take a seat," the nurse said.

Alessio sat down without saying anything.

Daisy remained beside him, watching carefully.

The nurse brought over the antiseptic and began cleaning the scrape. Her cheeks gradually became pink as she worked and she tried not to look at his face too often. But it was impossible not to glance at him from time to time.

Alessio, however, seemed completely unaware of it. Or perhaps he simply didn’t care. His expression remained cold and completely unreadable.

When the antiseptic touched the wound, he didn’t even flinch. His face remained still, his green eyes fixed ahead.

The nurse glanced at him. "Does that hurt?"

"No."

She blinked. "Oh."

She continued cleaning his hand, becoming increasingly nervous under his calm stare.
