Mafia Lord's Mute Sweetheart

Chapter 131 Good girl

Chapter 131: Chapter 131 Good girl

Daisy quickly shook her head.

I like them.

He nodded. "Good."

Then he continued ordering. "A fresh fruit juice for her. Sparkling water for me."

The waiter nodded respectfully. "And dessert?" he asked.

Alessio looked at Daisy again. This time his expression became unexpectedly patient. "What flavor do you like?"

Daisy thought carefully. Then her eyes lit up. She pointed to an imaginary strawberry, then hugged herself happily.

Strawberry.

"Strawberry?" he guessed.

Her face immediately bloomed into a smile. She nodded repeatedly.

Alessio looked back at the waiter. "One strawberry cheesecake." He paused. "...And one chocolate lava cake."

The waiter finished writing before giving a respectful nod. "I’ll bring everything shortly, Mr. Ricci."

As the door closed behind him, the room became quiet again.

Daisy looked at Alessio. Then at the empty place where the waiter had been standing.

A warm feeling quietly spread through her chest.

No one had ever asked her something as simple as what flavor do you like? People usually chose for her, or assumed. But he had asked.

Such a tiny question, yet it made her strangely happy.

She smiled softly before placing both hands together in front of her heart. Then she pointed toward him.

Thank you.

Alessio looked at her for a second. "...Didn’t I tell you?" He leaned back comfortably in his chair. "You don’t have to thank me every time."

Daisy smiled sheepishly. Then she covered her mouth with one hand, pretending to zip it shut.

No more thank yous.

Alessio watched her little performance, the corners of his lips lifting almost involuntarily.

"...Good girl."

The moment those words reached Daisy’s ears, her eyes widened. A rosy blush spread across her fair cheeks, slowly creeping all the way to the tips of her ears.

She lowered her head instinctively, suddenly finding the tablecloth incredibly interesting. She didn’t dare look at him.

Alessio noticed the change immediately. His green eyes focused on her flushed face for a second longer than they should have.

...Cute.

Far too cute.

She looked as though a single compliment was enough to make her entire face bloom like a flower.

Unable to hide her embarrassment, Daisy tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear before stealing a tiny glance at him.

Only to discover he was already looking at her.

Their eyes met. Her blush deepened instantly. She hurriedly looked away again.

Alessio almost smiled.

He had never met anyone whose emotions were so easy to read. Everything she felt appeared in those expressive eyes and on that innocent little face. There wasn’t a single trace of pretense.

He found it refreshing.

"...Why are you blushing?" he asked calmly, though there was unmistakable amusement hidden beneath his calm voice.

Daisy pursed her lips. Then she quickly covered her warm cheeks with both hands, shaking her head vigorously.

I’m not.

Alessio raised an eyebrow. "...Liar."

Daisy’s eyes grew round in mock indignation. She puffed her cheeks ever so slightly before turning her head away, pretending to ignore him.

Seeing her quietly sulking over one simple sentence, a soft chuckle escaped Alessio.

Daisy narrowed her eyes at him. Then she lifted both hands and gestured with exaggerated seriousness.

You keep laughing at me.

There wasn’t a trace of real annoyance on her face. Only a tiny, adorable complaint.

Alessio looked at her for a second. Then, without saying a word, he made a motion of pulling an invisible zipper across his lips.

He even tapped the imaginary zipper twice.

See? My mouth is closed.

Daisy blinked. Then a victorious smile slowly spread across her face. She nodded proudly.

Satisfied. Very satisfied.

Seeing that tiny expression of triumph, Alessio held it together for exactly three seconds.

"..."

Then a quiet chuckle escaped him again.

Daisy immediately turned back toward him. Her cheeks puffed slightly. She folded her arms across her chest and gave him a look that clearly said—

See?! You did it again!

Alessio cleared his throat, trying to regain his composure. "My mistake."

Daisy wasn’t convinced. She gave him one final pout before looking away with exaggerated dignity.

The corners of Alessio’s lips twitched once more.

At that exact moment, the lights throughout the restaurant suddenly dimmed.

The bright ceiling lights faded away, replaced by warm amber lighting that bathed the entire restaurant in a soft golden glow. Outside the glass wall, the garden lights beautifully, reflecting against the fountain like tiny stars dancing on the water.

A gentle piano melody began floating through the air. Soft, elegant and extremely romantic.

For a brief moment, Daisy looked around in surprise. Her eyes wandered toward the large window. She quickly realized every table in the restaurant had changed to the same warm lighting.

Couples around the restaurant continued eating as though this happened every evening.

Understanding dawned on her face.

Oh...

She relaxed, quietly admiring the beautiful atmosphere. To her, it was simply pretty. Nothing more.

But across the table, Alessio wasn’t looking anywhere.

His gaze rested solely on Daisy.

The warm amber glow softened her already delicate features, making her skin seem almost luminous. The tiny blush lingering on her cheeks had yet to disappear, and her dark eyes reflected the golden lights.

His chest tightened unexpectedly.

He frowned slightly.

What is this...?

He had attended countless luxurious dinners. Five-star restaurants. Exclusive private clubs. None of them had ever made him feel anything, there are more romantic and ambient atmosphere.

The romantic atmosphere that had never affected him before suddenly felt impossible to ignore. Not because of the music or candle-like lights but because she was sitting across from him.

She was looking out the window now, completely absorbed in the garden. Her profile was soft against the golden glow, her lashes casting tiny shadows on her cheeks. The rose-red dress she had chosen that morning suited her perfectly, making her look warm and delicate.

He noticed the way she tilted her head slightly when something caught her attention.

The waiter arrived with their food, breaking the spell. He placed the dishes carefully on the table.

Daisy turned back toward the table, her eyes lighting up at the sight of the beautifully plated food. She looked at Alessio, her expression filled with anticipation.

He gestured toward her plate. "Eat. Before it gets cold."

Daisy nodded and picked up her fork. She took a small bite of the risotto and her eyes widened. She chewed slowly, savoring the flavor, then looked up at him with a delighted nod.

It was good.
