Mafia Lord's Mute Sweetheart

Chapter 124 I want to help you

Chapter 124: Chapter 124 I want to help you

Alessio felt oddly like a confused tourist who had wandered into an unfamiliar city.

Whenever they reached an intersection, Daisy would confidently point in one direction before looking back at him with a bright expression that seemed to say,

Trust me.

He did.

Without questioning her even once.

A few minutes later, Daisy suddenly stopped in front of a brightly lit hobby store. She proudly pointed at the sign above the entrance.

Here.

Then she looked at Alessio with an expression that clearly asked,

See? I told you I’d find it.

Alessio glanced at the shop before looking back at her. The store was filled with puzzles, models and interactive games. Exactly what she had described.

"...You really know this place well."

Daisy smiled shyly. She pointed toward herself, then mimed carrying shopping bags. Finally, she gestured around the shopping center.

I saw it once when I came here to shop.

Alessio nodded. "I see."

He looked at the store again. "So..." He turned back to Daisy. "My guide."

The unexpected title made her blink. She pointed at herself with obvious surprise.

Me?

A faint smile tugged at Alessio’s lips.

"You’ve been leading me around this whole time. I’ve just been following behind."

He looked around before adding in an unusually serious tone,

"I would’ve gotten lost without you."

Daisy’s eyes widened before she covered her mouth, trying to hide her silent laughter. Her shoulders shook slightly and her eyes crinkled at the corners.

She looked so delighted that even Alessio found himself smiling a little wider.

For some reason, being the confused tourist didn’t seem so bad after all.

He followed her into the store, watching as she immediately gravitated toward the puzzle section, her fingers brushing over the boxes with genuine interest.

He stood back and watched her.

You choose for your brother.

Daisy smiled gently as she gestured toward the shelves lined with countless model kits.

You know him better than I do.

Alessio looked at her for a brief moment before nodding.

"...Alright."

He slowly walked along the aisle, picking up one box after another. There were sports cars, motorcycles, aircraft, ships, ancient castles. Even mechanical models that required hours of careful assembly.

He studied each one thoughtfully before placing it back.

"...No."

Another one.

"...Not this."

Then another.

Still, nothing felt right.

He frowned slightly.

Buying gifts was surprisingly difficult. He had bought businesses, properties, and weapons without hesitation. But a gift for his brother, something that would actually make him happy, that was a different kind of challenge.

He wanted Mateo to genuinely love it. Not simply smile politely before forgetting about it a week later.

Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed Daisy quietly following beside him.

She didn’t rush him. She simply waited patiently, occasionally looking at the different models with quiet curiosity. Her eyes moved across the shelves, taking in the colors and designs but she never reached for anything herself.

A faint crease formed between Alessio’s brows.

I’m wasting her time...

She had come shopping too. She probably had plenty of things she wanted to buy for herself. And here she was, standing patiently while he struggled to pick a gift.

For some reason, Rafael’s countless complaints suddenly echoed inside his mind.

Girls really take forever when shopping. Bro, never rush them. If they say ’five minutes’ prepare for an hour.

Rafael had repeated that sentence so many times that Alessio could still remember it word for word.

At the time, he had ignored it completely.

Now, he found himself wondering if it was actually true.

He looked toward Daisy again.

"If you’re in a hurry to finish your own shopping... you don’t have to wait for me. I can manage by myself."

Daisy blinked. Her dark eyes became a little wider, and something flickered in them. Concern? Surprise? Perhaps even a hint of disappointment.

Then she immediately shook her head. Firmly.

She raised both hands.

I want to help you.

She smiled softly before continuing.

I only have a few things to buy. It won’t take long. Take your time.

Alessio quietly looked at her. Her eyes were sincere, her smile warm. She genuinely wanted to be here, helping him.

"...Okay."

His voice unconsciously became gentler.

He turned back toward the shelves once more.

This time, he looked through them more carefully. He paid attention to the details, the complexity, the kind of challenge each model presented.

Nearly fifteen minutes later, he finally selected four different model kits.

Holding all four boxes in his arms, he walked back to Daisy. He lowered them slightly so she could see each one clearly.

"So..." He looked down at her. "Which one do you think he’ll like the most?"

Daisy stepped closer, her eyes moving across the boxes. She studied each one carefully, her brow furrowing in concentration. She reached out and touched one, then another, weighing them with her hands as if she could feel the answer.

She pointed at a medieval castle model. Then she mimed building something, piece by piece with slow movements.

He will enjoy it.

She gestured toward the box.

It will take time to build. He will feel proud when he finishes it.

Alessio looked at the castle model. It was intricate with towers, battlements and tiny walls that would have to be assembled with patience.

He imagined Mateo’s face when he opened it. The surprise. The excitement. The quiet satisfaction of completing something difficult.

He looked at Daisy.

"...You’re right."

He placed the other models back on the shelf and kept the castle.

Daisy smiled softly.

Alessio looked at the box in his hands, then at her.

"Thank you, Daisy."

Her eyes widened immediately. She quickly shook her head and gestured, Why are you thanking me? You chose everything yourself. And besides... I’m your friend, right?

Her hands moved slowly, but her meaning was clear. Her expression was earnest, almost insistent as if she couldn’t understand why he would thank her for something so small.

Alessio looked at her for a long moment. The late afternoon light streamed through the windows of the shop, casting a warm glow across her face. Her dark eyes were wide and sincere, filled with a gentle confusion.

He felt a soft chuckle escape his lips. The sound was surprisingly pleasant, warm and deep, genuine enough that even a few middle-aged women passing by couldn’t help but glance in his direction.
