Mafia Lord's Mute Sweetheart

Chapter 123 You already have an idea?

Chapter 123: Chapter 123 You already have an idea?

"My brother likes adventures," Alessio said as they resumed walking side by side. His steps were unhurried, matching her pace perfectly. "And video games."

He glanced at Daisy, his green eyes soft in the morning light.

"Do you have any suggestions?"

He paused before adding with a faint sigh,

"But I don’t want to buy him another video game. He finally started studying seriously. If I give him one now, he’ll probably lock himself in his room and forget his books again."

Daisy nodded thoughtfully, her brows furrowing as she seriously considered the question. A tiny wrinkle appeared between her brows and her eyes wandered upward as she turned the problem over in her mind.

Alessio couldn’t help watching her instead of the shops around them.

Her face was surprisingly easy to read. She hardly needed sign language anymore.

Whenever she was thinking, her eyes wandered slightly upward, as if searching for answers in the sky. When she was confused, her brows knitted together ever so slightly, creating that adorable little crease. When she became excited, her eyes sparkled before she even moved her hands.

Even before she gestured, he could already guess what she was feeling.

Her eyes really are expressive...

He found himself thinking.

Sometimes I can understand her without her saying a single word. Without using those adorable gestures. Without opening her pretty little mouth. Just by looking into her eyes.

Daisy suddenly stopped walking.

Her eyes lit up, sparkling with excitement. A bright smile spread across her face, so wide and genuine that it transformed her entire expression.

She excitedly pointed at herself.

I know!

Her movements became much quicker than usual, her hands flying through the signs with enthusiasm. She looked genuinely thrilled by the idea that had just popped into her head.

Alessio’s lips curved upward. "...You already have an idea?"

She nodded enthusiastically, her ponytail bouncing with the movement.

Then she quickly gestured.

Instead of buying him something that distracts him... Why don’t you buy something that lets him enjoy adventures... while also making him think?

Alessio tilted his head, his brow furrowing slightly.

"Hm?"

Daisy pointed toward a nearby bookstore, her finger jabbing excitedly in its direction. Then she pretended to flip through pages, her hands miming the motion of turning pages. Next, she mimicked solving a puzzle, her brows furrowing in concentration before she pretended to swing an imaginary sword.

Alessio watched carefully, his green eyes following every movement.

Realization slowly appeared in his eyes.

"Adventure novels?"

Daisy immediately shook her head.

Almost.

Then she gestured again, but he didn’t understand.

She paused, her hands hovering in the air. Then she reached for her bag, pulling out her phone with a sheepish expression.

She opened her notes app and quickly typed a message, her fingers moving rapidly across the screen. A flush crept up her cheeks as she realized how stupid she must have looked, explaining things on his palm and by mouth, when her phone had been right there the whole time.

She hoped he didn’t think she was stupid.

She held out the screen.

Interactive adventure books. Escape-room puzzles. Mystery games. Strategy board games. Building models. Things that are fun... but also train the brain.

Alessio read the words carefully, his eyes moving across the screen.

Then he looked genuinely impressed.

"...That’s actually a good idea."

Daisy beamed proudly, her earlier embarrassment fading.

Seeing her smile, he couldn’t help smiling too.

"You really thought about it."

She nodded happily, her eyes crinkling at the corners.

Then, after a brief hesitation, she pointed toward him. Then toward an imaginary little boy, her hand indicating a small figure. Finally, she made a tiny cheering gesture with both fists, her expression full of encouragement.

You know your brother. He’ll be happy because it’s from you.

Those simple words touched Alessio more deeply than he expected.

To everyone else, it would just be a gift. Something to unwrap and forget. Something that would eventually gather dust on a shelf.

But somehow, hearing Daisy say it made him realize that perhaps Mateo wouldn’t remember the price of the present. He would remember who gave it to him. He would remember the thought behind it.

Alessio looked at Daisy quietly, his green eyes soft and warm.

"...Thank you."

Daisy instinctively opened her hands to sign You’re welcome.

But before she could complete the gesture, his voice came again, quieter this time.

"For everything."

Daisy paused, her hands still in the air.

She looked at him, a question in her eyes.

Alessio didn’t explain further. He simply looked at her, and something in his gaze told her that she didn’t need an explanation.

She lowered her hands and smiled gently.

They continued walking, the quiet between them comfortable and warm.

"Can you help me pick the best one?" Alessio asked.

His voice was calm as always, but there was an unusual sincerity behind the question.

Daisy looked at him for a second, her dark eyes searching his face. Then her eyes curved into a bright smile.

She nodded immediately.

Of course.

Without any hesitation, she motioned for him to follow. Her hand waved in a small, eager gesture, beckoning him forward.

Alessio quietly fell into step behind her.

To his surprise, she walked with complete confidence, weaving effortlessly through the shopping center as if she knew every corner of the place. Her steps were quick and sure, her ponytail swaying with each movement.

She didn’t stop once to think. Instead, she confidently pointed left. Then right. Then continued straight ahead. She navigated the crowded corridors with ease, dodging shoppers, strollers and groups of teenagers.

Every few steps, she would glance back to make sure he was still following before giving him another cheerful little gesture.

This way!

Alessio couldn’t help smiling to himself.

For some reason, the roles between them had completely reversed. Usually, he was the one leading everyone else. He was the one giving directions, making decisions, controlling the situation.

Today, he had somehow become the one following.

And Daisy had become his tiny guide.

She looked so serious while leading the way that she almost resembled a professional tour guide determined not to lose her customer. Her brows were slightly furrowed with concentration, her eyes scanning the signs and storefronts with careful attention.

He found himself wondering how she knew this place so well. Had she come here often? Did she have a favorite store? Did she ever wander these corridors alone, lost in her own thoughts?

The questions lingered in his mind, but he didn’t ask. He simply followed her, content to let her lead the way.
