Chapter 3937: A Twitch! II
Chapter 3937: A Twitch! II
As Noah observed his own transformation and the elevation of Moiraine in the Early Veiled Shore, the reverberations of their advancement would eventually ripple across the vast expanse of Existence itself.
Eventually.
But they were not the only ones experiencing fundamental change in this moment of existential significance.
Existence is vast, unexplored, and filled with wonder beyond the comprehension of most conscious beings.
What many commonly know and understand represents but a mere fractional facet of the true Weavings of Existence that stretch across infinite possibilities.
In these grand unexplored territories dwell countless entities who are exceptional in their own right, masters of their own fables, beings whose choices carry weight that affects far more than they could ever imagine.
And in the Transcendent Paradoxical Folds, a countless distance away from the conflicts and revelations unfolding elsewhere, such choices were being made that would reshape the very foundations upon which some parts of existence operated!
—
In the Heart of Paradox, nestled within the deepest regions of the Transcendent Paradoxical Folds, lay a domain of wonder.
Stellar obsidian and gold rivers of Living Paradoxical Authority flowed through the landscape in patterns that hurt to observe directly, their currents carrying contradictions that made reality itself seem uncertain of its own nature.
At the center of this impossible realm stood a massive statue that dominated the horizon with its sheer presence.
The figure was carved from materials that existed in states of perpetual contradiction, its form both solid and ethereal, ancient and newly forged.
In its hands, it held a weapon that defied rational description….an obsidian infinity symbol whose very existence seemed to challenge the fundamental weavings governing reality.
The robed statue wore a crown that pulsed with its own inner radiance, its features carved into the likeness of a terrifying Paradoxical Emperor whose gaze overlooked everything within this domain.
There was something unsettling about those stone eyes, as if they contained awareness that transcended the merely artistic, consciousness trapped within unchanging material that watched and judged with paradoxical patience!
Yet where its gaze fell now, thousands upon thousands of terrifying Living Paradoxes circled a certain area with wills of power that made the surrounding air shimmer with barely contained authority.
The assembly was unprecedented in its scope and significance- thousands of Prime Living Paradoxes formed outer rings of observation, while close to one hundred Honored Living Paradoxes occupied positions of greater prominence.
Among these Honored beings stood Gold, his form radiating the particular brand of ancient authority.
But even he, for all his accumulated power and wisdom, showed deference to the ten figures who commanded the ultimate positions of authority in this gathering.
Duke Elagabalus sat grandly upon an obsidian throne constructed from hundreds of miniaturized Wheels of Existence, each one pulsing with its own rhythm of contained reality.
His terrifying obsidian-gold hair flowed like liquid metal around his shoulders, while his crimson-gold robe seemed to absorb and reflect light Paradoxically!
Above his head floated a three-pointed crown that pulsed with authority so concentrated it made the surrounding space bend subtly around its presence.
Beside him and arranged in careful formation sat nine other entities, each occupying thrones of different colors and materials but all sharing the same fundamental nature…they were Dukes, ten of the eighty-one beings who collectively governed the fate of all Living Paradoxes across existence.
Their presence here spoke to the significance of whatever had drawn them together in this place of ancient power!
All of their attention was focused upon a single object that lay before them like a sacrifice offered to forgotten wonders.
Near Duke Elagabalus stood none other than Diviticus, though her visage now shimmered with an extremely brilliant white grandeur that spoke to fundamental changes in her nature and status.
She seemed untouchable, wrapped in a unique authority that made even the assembled Dukes regard her with respect!
Many of the gathered Paradoxes looked toward her with expressions of awe.
But…what commanded their collective attention was a body- the corpse they had stolen from the Coalition of Living Existences through audacious assault and impossible capability.
It was the preserved remains of an Early Creature, a being whose death should have been inconceivable yet whose body lay before them as undeniable proof that even the mightiest could fall!
The corpse was massive in scale, perhaps ten times the size of any Living Paradox present, its proportions telling of the fundamental differences between Early Creatures and the beings who had evolved in their wake.
The most striking feature was the wound that had ended its existence- a diagonal cleave that ran from shoulder to waist, cutting through flesh and bone with such precision that no trace of energy remained to indicate what force could have delivered such a devastating blow!
Yet when even Honored Living Existences gazed upon that wound, they felt their hearts shake with the understanding that if such a strike were directed toward them, they would crumble like dust!
The corpse appeared humanoid in its basic structure. Around its waist was wrapped what appeared to be clothing fashioned from animal hide, though the materials were unlike anything that existed in current reality.
The garment suggested primitive origins yet radiated an aura of authority that made it clear this being had needed no external symbols to command respect!
Its upper body lay bare, revealing the full extent of the massive wound while simultaneously displaying the fundamental differences between Early Creature physiology and that of lesser beings.
Apart from the diagonal cut that had ended its existence, the skin and muscle appeared completely drained of blood, their color faded to a gray that spoke to death in its most absolute form.
Yet paradoxically, even in death, the corpse carried waves of life that far exceeded even the Royal Living Paradoxes present!
It was as if death itself had been unable to fully claim this being, leaving behind something that existed in the space between existence and nonexistence.
All across its body, one could observe indentations and excavations where countless entities had worked over eons to extract samples of skin, muscle, and bone.
Also prominent…were thousands of terrifying Glyphs that seemed broken and carved out, with each shattered Glyph causing any Honored Living Existence who looked at it to feel a sense of oppression! From a simple one…of the thousands of broken Glyphs!
The Coalition of Living Existences had clearly been harvesting from this corpse for an unimaginable length of time, each extraction representing attempts to understand or replicate the fundamental nature and power of Early Creature existence.
Most shocking of all was the absence of the heart, clearly removed through careful surgical precision by something far more powerful than a Living Existence!
