Chapter 3920: Aeternitas Concordia! III
Chapter 3920: Aeternitas Concordia! III
You.
A simple word, yet it carried within its single syllable the weight of recognition and surprise!
Noah and Alexander Asmodeus gazed at each other, their minds working in parallel streams of calculation and memory.
For beings of their caliber- an entire symphony of communication could unfold in the space between one heartbeat and the next.
For them, the mere span of an instant could potentially have hours of conversations!
Reality itself seemed to slow around them, creating a pocket of temporal stillness where minds could meet and speak without the cumbersome requirement of words.
Alexander was the first to break the silence, though silence was perhaps the wrong word for the complex web of mental communication that suddenly sprang into existence between them.
His consciousness reached, establishing a connection that nobody else could even listen to.
"I could be surprised and shocked and ask how you are possibly here," he said, "But anything is possible in the vastness of existence, so I won’t ask that. It is...good to see a familiar face from my home after all the craziness..."
...!
There was something almost wistful in the way he said ’home,’ as if the concept had taken on new meaning since whatever occured recently!
"But the only thing connecting us and what I could at most be curious to know is... did you manage to kill Bob? I was planning to send another body of mine back to the Nullvein Gravewake Folds to finish him off entirely for the sake of my peace, but I have been kept... busy."
The last word carried undertones of frustration mixed with resignation, as if Alexander had discovered that power came with its own particular set of chains.
Around them, Existence remained frozen in that crystalline moment between recognition and response.
Seraphina Valorheart’s hand had begun to move in that short instant. But the motion hung incomplete, suspended in the weavings of compressed time while their two minds communicated in an instant!
Noah’s mental manifestation- a perfect reflection of his physical form rendered in thought and intention- appeared above his head in this frozen space as he looked towards a similar mental manifestation of the Peacemaker while he replied.
"Bob is actually a ridiculous cockroach to kill," he replied. "He has survived an Inevitability, Living Paradoxes, Living Origins... he is living large with the luck of a Protagonist right now. But you don’t have to worry about him."
...!
The statement hung in the mental space between them, and Noah could see the exact moment when confusion flickered across Alexander’s consciousness.
The Peacemaker’s mental form leaned forward slightly, his expression shifting from casual inquiry to focused attention.
"What do you mean? Inevitability? Why is he no longer a worry? He led to the destruction of our Wheel of Existence, and for the sake of our peace..."
For the sake of Peace.
After he said this, his gaze flickered.
"...ah, maybe it does not matter anymore."
WAA!
Toward the end, Alexander’s mental manifestation shook its head with the gesture of a man who had learned to pick his battles carefully.
"You two at this moment may be evenly matched," Noah continued, his mental voice taking on the tone of someone delivering a diagnosis, "but he is not looking for you or anyone else, just obsessively trying to survive. He won’t threaten your peace. But Little Bobby truly does not matter. As someone who had a heavy flow of existence from our Wheel of Existence, I am curious about you. I heard a treasure of the Living Laws was taken from the Nullvein Gravewake Folds, and now you appear here..."
The effect of these words was immediate and profound. Alexander’s mental manifestation pulsed with surprise!
"How could you have possibly found that out?" Alexander asked, his mental voice carrying notes of alarm!
Noah’s mental manifestation smiled as he shook his head with gentle amusement, his gaze shifting to encompass the frozen figures of Kaedric Voss and Seraphina Valorheart that seemed to be moving in slow motion.
"Are you in any trouble?" he asked.
"I see a Living Law beside you, and that girl whose gaze has become extremely cold the moment I called out to you. As a courtesy from someone stemming from the same folds as me, I could lend a helping hand if you need help."
The offer hung between them!
Alexander’s mental form went still as surprise flashed through his consciousness.
The Peacemaker’s gaze shifted to the frozen figure of Seraphina, and Noah caught the flash of complicated emotions that flickered across his features.
When Alexander looked back, his expression had grown stern, as if he was wrestling with decisions that carried consequences far beyond everything imaginable!
"My Enneagram does not deem any malice from you and even shines differently compared to all others I’ve come across, and I trust it... even though it is the cause for my current situation..."
He paused, seeming to weigh his words with care.
"But it is okay," he finally continued, shaking his head with resignation. "I will figure it out myself. The Living Laws...claim something at the very heart of me was or is a part of a Relic tracing back to the earliest Living Laws. And this woman beside me, Seraphina...supposedly carries the other part. They say the two of us have to join and move as one in the future, but... my heart is bound to another. Even for the sake of Peace...we will have to see."
HUUM!
Noah blinked, his mental manifestation processing this revelation with the fascination of someone discovering an entirely new species of problem.
When he spoke again, his mental voice carried tones of genuine curiosity mixed with barely suppressed amusement.
"Your biggest problem was that you have to be with a second woman?"
...!
Noah found such a problem uniquely amusing!
The Peacemaker nodded as he looked above at the distant continents and statues.
"I know. A seemingly...stupid or useless notion to some."
It was simultaneously admirable and limiting, the kind of romantic idealism that spoke to nobility of spirit while potentially creating insurmountable obstacles to practical solutions.
Noah’s mental manifestation shook its head with the exasperation of facing someone who had a stubborn adherence to impractical principles.
He approached Alexander’s consciousness as his mental hand came to rest on the shoulder of the Peacemaker’s projected form.
"Brother, I do not know much about you..." he said with earnest sincerity, "But you need to expand your horizons. Our hearts are big enough to love many. You would be surprised if I told you the number in my harem. If this is the biggest problem you are facing right now, I will leave you to it with that advice!"
