Infinite Genetic Evolution in a Game-like world

Morden opened his eyes in a room drenched in blood and covered in corpses. Corpses of people that used to love him the most, his family, but strangely, there was a smirk on his face.

And the next moment, he was in an investigation room strapped to a chair while being tortured for a crime he didn't commit, but he had no way of proving his innocence; the only hint he had was a faint, unusual red light, and that was all.

When all hope seemed lost and the end grew near, Morden was given a chance to make a decision:

[Congratulations, Morden Tales; you have been selected by the Omnisphere to become a Gene Bearer.]

[Are you willing to accept? Yes/No]

Hell-bent on getting revenge for the dead while also fully proving his innocence. Morden immediately accepted the offer, but unbeknownst to him, he had accepted something far bigger than he could have expected.

[Primordial Shard Detected; Innate ability awokened—Gene evolution.]

[10 Gene shards detected. Are you willing to evolve the Common-grade Gene to an Uncommon-grade one?

In a world where power comes with fixed grades and unbreakable ceilings, follow Morden as he uses a power that shouldn't exist in a body that isn't his to solve a crime he didn't commit.

Now he has to survive and grow strong enough to find out why.
