Chapter 1088: Silver and Gold Boost
Chapter 1088: Silver and Gold Boost
Death Tentacle Ruins!
During the Mudropper Invasion, one of the refugees fleeing to the Drenta Vines chanced upon it. Upon knowing it was a Ruins left behind by a Mystic Tentacle, the Free Human ventured into the Ruins, only to be never heard from ever again.
His surviving family member, in search of him, eventually tracked the traces to the Ruins too. Eventually, Raid parties were organised to reap benefits from the Ruins, with a majority dying in the process.
However, those who survived reaped immense gains, including a collection of mineral deposits, along with their respective complete cultivation techniques. And when a Human Avatar is built using them, they gain powers that counter the Death Knell Race.
There were specialised Gold Grade minerals, each accompanied by a completed cultivation technique. They were primarily built to counter the abilities of the Death Knell Race, but also had other variants too.
These minerals were just one of the rewards. The most prized reward was something the Drenta Human Alliance had reaped enough to create their foundation.
Minor Treasure—Gold Boost!
When a Free Human fuses with it, their Human Avatar gets upgraded to the Gold Grade. However, the mineral is still a Silver Grade mineral. Therefore, the building time and influence the Free Human has to endure was at the Silver Grade level.
The Prana capacity, strength, presence, lifespan, and Primary Nature were all at the Gold Grade, while the building speed and influence issues were at the Silver Grade.
This was one of the most prized Minor Treasures, which created a foundation for the Royalty part of the Drenta Human Alliance.
Gold Grade minerals existed in the region, but not in sufficient quantities. And even if they existed, not many Free Humans existed to take advantage of them. In most cases, the influence they generated made the Free Human too much trouble to society than the benefit their strength granted.
Not many Gold Grade minerals like Rutham existed on Sumatra, whose influence perfectly aligned with the traits and characteristics an Empire’s Royalty needed to possess.
Every few centuries, a Free Human would successfully survive a Raid into the Death Tentacle Ruins and emerge with a Gold Boost Minor Treasure. The journey of every single one of them was wrought with tragedy and endless sacrifices.
However, their sacrifices strengthened the foundation of the Drenta Human Alliance. They closely guarded the entrance to the Death Tentacle Ruins, erecting massive forts around the entrance.
From time to time, they would send Raid parties into the Ruins. Despite harvesting dozens of Gold Boost Minor Treasures, plenty more of the Ruins were left unexplored.
The Death Tentacle Ruins were split into two regions: the outer region, known as the Death Region, and the inner region, called the Grim Region.
The most valuable treasure in the Death Region was the Gold Boost Minor Treasure. Even this region had a survival rate close to zero.
The Grim Region’s survival rate was an absolute zero until recent times, when a single individual, originally shunned by the Free Humans for societal reasons, ended up surviving.
That was Nirat Brunth, the last descendant of the BrunDunDh Kingdom’s Royalty, whom the PariBota Royal Family had replaced.
Shunned by the Free Human society due to the issues his bloodline suffered thanks to the mineral of Brunth, Nirat was kept alive only to serve as an example of the dangers brought by the mineral.
After the PariBota Royal Family took control 1862 years ago, they ensured the previous Royal Family line was continued, with one successor for every generation. The rest were used as a demonstration of the side effects of Brunth.
Even after so many years, the descendants, despite only living and dying at the Spirit Stage, were still susceptible to external influences.
Nirat was kept alive in the current generation for the exact reason.
“And from what I heard, he vanished for a few years.” Zhya whispered to Wally, “And when he returned, he challenged eight Gold Grade Pranic Beasts to a fight and won.”
Unlike Free Humans, the robust bodies of Pranic Beasts, coupled with their stronger regenerative capabilities itself served as a weapon on par with a Nature.
A Gold Grade Free Human needed to be at least at the 6-Life Stage or above to be on par with a Gold Grade Pranic Beast.
Even in the Brimgan Empire, where geniuses were plenty, the majority of the Princes and Princesses gained their title only at the 4-Life Stage, which was the earliest they were able to kill a Gold Grade Pranic Beast in a one-on-one battle.
Killing one Gold Grade Pranic Beast, even at a higher cultivation level, was a resounding feat. But killing eight while at a mere 2-Life Stage was pretty much a one-of-a-kind feat in the Drenta Human Alliance.
“So, without opposition, he became the leader of the Drenta Human Alliance. He’s by far their strongest, and as his cultivation progresses, he’ll only become stronger.” Zhya explained in full detail, “I believe if anyone can injure you here, it’s him.”
The King of PariBota, WoBhimika, felt nervous upon seeing the silence from the two visitors. Even though the presence he felt from the other side wasn’t impressive even at the Silver Grade, the youth next to him claimed otherwise.
“Sir, are you sure?” He asked Nirat Brunth in a whisper, “I’ve been using every method in my detection arsenal, and all I’m sensing is that they are at the Silver Grade.”
“You see that man?” With a soft, almost feminine voice, Nirat Brunth uttered calmly while pointing at Wally, “His Primary Nature is Subtle Terrain Domination. And by cross-checking with our records and what I’m sensing at the moment, it’s apparent…”
He uttered solemnly, “Even among the Empyrean Snappers, he’s a Deity on a league of his own.”
“And,” He subtly pointed at Zhya, “That one is a monster capable of annihilating the Drenta Human Alliance in a matter of hours.”
At his words, WoBhimika shuddered in fright, “T-Then…”
“Keep calm,” Nirat said without batting an eye, “These monsters have been attracted here for only one reason.”
“I’m left with no other choice but to guide them there.”
“T-Then,” With a glimmer of hope in his eyes, WoBhimika asked, “Are you intending to kill them in the Ruins?”
“I know how dangerous the Grim Region is,” Nirat slowly shook his head, “But I can’t imagine even that harming these two.”
“There’s also him.” He then eyed the third individual seated grumpily a fair distance away, “The best I can do is get them to fight each other.”
“Anyway, leave this to me.” Saying so, Nirat Brunth took a step forward, eyed Zhya, Wally, and then the grumpily seated individual, Brangara, “I believe all three of you have come here for one reason.”
“Please follow me,” He said and turned around, “I’ll lead you to the Death Tentacle Ruins.”
“That was fast.” Brangara’s face lit up as he was on his feet spontaneously upon hearing Nirat’s words. “To think you were being so stubborn until now.”
“If my stubbornness keeps my people alive, then I pledge to remain as such even against existences like your eminence,” Nirat spoke respectfully towards Brangara. The reason he could figure out the identities of the other party was all thanks to his gains at the Grim Region of the Death Tentacle Ruins.
Minor Treasure—Linked Transfer!
It was the second most important Minor Treasure in the Grim Region. The influence it generated allowed Nirat to perceive based on sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch regarding the opponent’s prowess and state of being.
Through sight, he saw Wally’s stature as an Empyrean Snapper. Through sound, he heard the thunderous thumps produced by Wally’s heart. Through smell, he felt the clear trace of a Deity, one on the cusp of reaching the pinnacle.
This was related to Wally’s state of being. And then, in terms of prowess, Nirat was able to sense Wally’s Nature and the Treasures within his being.
It applied to every individual he could perceive. This was merely due to the influence generated on Nirat by the Minor Treasure of Linked Transfer.
Its function was pretty simple. Within the Spirit Weapon Range, Nirat could link himself with a target and harness their Nature. The Nature he gains was according to his choice, and it would take the place of his Secondary Nature slot.
The Minor Treasure of Linked Transfer was a two-way street, in that Nirat too could link his Primary Nature to the Secondary or Tertiary Nature slot of his target.
The opponent’s will didn’t matter. Only his choice mattered here. During a fight, Nirat would link his power to the target and slow down the latter’s reaction speed thanks to the influence generated by his Primary Nature upon them.
He couldn’t explore the Grim Region much, as it was extremely dangerous to him. Nirat was confident that there were plenty more Minor Treasures of Linked Transfer in the Grim Region. However, he was damn sure there was just one of the other Minor Treasure he gained, which he labelled the most important Minor Treasure of the Grim Region.
Minor Treasure—Silver Boost!
It was no different from the Minor Treasure of Gold Boost. Gold Boost worked by elevating the power of a Silver Grade Human Avatar to the Gold Grade. It couldn’t affect an Iron Grade Human Avatar, for the power jump was beyond the capacity of a Minor Treasure.
A Silver Boost Minor Treasure boosted an Iron Human Avatar to the Silver Grade. After this, the Gold Boost Minor Treasure was capable of elevating the Human Avatar to the Gold Grade.
A Silver Boost Minor Treasure made no sense, since the result was nothing worth mentioning in the first place. To create this, the Mystic Tentacle had obviously used Sumatra Gold and a Bolt of Transcendence.
The costs far far outweighed the benefits. However, the Mystic Tentacle of that era created just one Silver Boost Minor Treasure, for a simple reason alone.
In its quest to face the Death Knell Invasion, it meticulously raided the Brimgan Empire, collected knowledge from across the Continent, and finally, created an Iron Grade mineral, which had as much potential as Kirenal, the Iron Grade mineral that could be refined into Rutham using Gold Kinesis Art.
This mineral, however, didn’t have the property where it could be refined through the Grades, despite possessing the same potential as Rutham.
And hence, in an effort to harness its power at the Gold Grade, where it would shine the best, the Minor Treasure of Silver Boost was created.
That Iron Grade mineral, was what Nirat used to build his Human Avatar.
