I Really Am A Villain

Ch. 1787 - Blade-Mountain Flame-Sea

Hearing Xu Zimo threaten him so bluntly, Prison Lord Ming’s face turned iron-blue with rage.

He had been stationed in the Blood Prison Thirteen Cities for years and could be considered a dominant figure in his own right.

Yet now he was being threatened by a mere human.

One had to remember, this was the Mirage Tides Heaven.

“Other than the Nine-Sword Dao Lord of old, you’re the most arrogant person I’ve ever met,” Prison Lord Ming said coldly.

“Nine-Sword Dao Lord?” Xu Zimo laughed.

“Never heard of him. Just another nobody.”

“You’ll know that name someday,” Prison Lord Ming said, giving Xu Zimo a deep look.

Then he continued, “If you want to go to Jade Court, it’s not entirely impossible. But the difficulty of the method is such that even if I told you, what could you really do?”

“If you don’t tell me, how would I know whether I should retreat in the face of difficulty?” Xu Zimo replied casually.

“The Mirage Tides Heaven is vast and divided into an outer domain and an inner domain,” Prison Lord Ming said.

“Our outer domain has no teleportation formations. But the inner domain has paths that lead to other heavens.”

“But you must understand that the inner domain is a place meant only for the dead. The Blood Prison Thirteen Cities are merely the outskirts. If you want to enter the inner domain, you’ll have to cross mountains of blades and seas of fire. You’ll have to walk the Path of Myriad Ghosts, and in the end, the entrance is guarded by the Four Ultimate Death Gods. Do you really think you can make it?”

“Even if you do get in, the death energy inside will invade your body.

“Even an Infinite Dao cultivator couldn’t stay there for long. And do you really think you’re a match for the Lord of Death? A living person entering the inner domain is guaranteed death.”

The Lord of Death was the ruler of the Mirage Tides Heaven.

Much like Primordial Flame of the Inferno Crucible Heaven or the End of Calamities of Ghost God Heaven.

Here, the Lord of Death reigned supreme.

His words became law. A single sentence could determine life or death.

It was said that even Dao Lords were unwilling to set foot on this land.

When the Heavenly Court sent envoys here to deliver decrees, they were always plagued by death energy afterward.

“You’ll take me there. You’ll lead me to the inner domain,” Xu Zimo said, pointing at Prison Lord Ming.

“I cannot leave the Blood Prison Thirteen Cities without authorization,” Prison Lord Ming replied.

“If the inner domain holds me accountable, no one could bear the consequences.”

“Spare me such clumsy excuses,” Xu Zimo waved his hand dismissively.

“There’s something else as well. This Blood Prison Thirteen Cities isn’t simple, is it? The secret behind resurrection here interests me quite a bit.”

At those words, Prison Lord Ming’s expression changed drastically.

He hadn’t expected Xu Zimo to observe things so carefully.

That earlier brute had been a fool. After being killed by Xu Zimo, he had actually triggered the resurrection power.

“You don’t need to hide it,” Xu Zimo continued.

“With your Infinite Dao cultivation, your status in the inner domain probably isn’t low either. And yet you’re here managing a border city. If there’s nothing shady about that, I’d be shocked.”

“This place has nothing to do with you,” Prison Lord Ming said after a moment of silence.

“Don’t go looking for death. If you touch anything here, you’ll be hunted down by the entire Mirage Tides Heaven.”

“The more you say that, the more interested I become,” Xu Zimo laughed.

His gaze swept across the entire Blood Prison Thirteen Cities.

In those deep eyes, it was as if space itself was pierced, everything laid bare.

“Blood Prison Thirteen Cities. What a clever arrangement,” he said in mild surprise.

Using the Eight Trigrams and the Five Elements as a foundation, thirteen positions each suppressed a city, all interconnected.

This was a sealing formation.

Beneath the Blood Prison Thirteen Cities, there had to be something hidden.

Xu Zimo’s eyes looked downward.

He saw a viscous river of darkness flowing beneath, with no visible end.

Above the river, chunks of black, diamond-shaped crystals were piled together.

It was a crystal mine.

Xu Zimo had never seen these crystals before.

Only a thick aura of death enveloped them.

“An extremely ominous land,” Xu Zimo murmured.

“Seeking life through death.

“The end of life is death, and the end of death is life. This layout is quite ingenious.”

After observing for a while, Xu Zimo gained a rough understanding.

Prison Lord Ming was most likely stationed here to oversee the mining of these crystals.

And these crystals were the key to the resurrection of the spirit entities of the Mirage Tides Heaven.

Though these crystals seized the fortune of heaven and earth and contained wondrous power, to Xu Zimo, they were just so-so.

Seeing Prison Lord Ming’s tense expression, Xu Zimo shook his head and laughed.

“Lead the way. Take me to the Blade-Mountain Flame-Sea. Otherwise, I will destroy this place.”

“Why insist on throwing your life away like this?” Prison Lord Ming shook his head.

In the end, he compromised.

“I can lead you, but I’ll only lead you.

“Anything else is none of my business.”

“Don’t worry. If anyone blocks the way, I’ll just slaughter my way into the inner domain,” Xu Zimo replied.

Prison Lord Ming stared at him for a moment, then waved his hand.

After giving a few instructions to the other Prison Lords, he led Xu Zimo away.

“The Mirage Tides Heaven is the land of the dead,” Prison Lord Ming said as they traveled.

“A living being who steps into it is constantly being eroded by death energy. You’re strong, so you haven’t felt it yet. To enter the Blade-Mountain Flame-Sea, you need special means. Otherwise, you won’t even be able to find it.”

As he spoke, Prison Lord Ming took out a token.

Invisible waves of power rippled from it.

Prison Lord Ming formed seals rapidly with his hands, and a force of space-time spread outward.

The entrance to the inner domain was not fixed.

It was hidden within space-time, its coordinates constantly shifting.

Only certain individuals were qualified to open it.

Even ordinary spirit entities couldn’t find it.

Finally, the token in Prison Lord Ming’s hand seemed to sense something.

Two streams of blood-red light suddenly burst from his eyes.

At the end of the blood-red streams, a gateway appeared.

“The Blade-Mountain Flame-Sea lies beyond this,” Prison Lord Ming said.

“But there’s something I need to tell you in advance. The guardians of the Blade-Mountain Flame-Sea, Blade Demon and Fire God, are my old enemies. You’re being recommended by me, so you’ll likely be targeted. I know you’re used to being arrogant. But if you want to use the teleportation formation, it’s best not to kill these guardians. Otherwise, things will escalate.”

Xu Zimo smiled.

His gaze fixed on the gateway.

“I only do what I must do. Anyone who blocks my path dies.”

“You really think you can bulldoze the entire Mirage Tides Heaven?” Prison Lord Ming asked.

“Why not?” Xu Zimo replied.

Prison Lord Ming fell silent.

He shook his head and said, “Say less once we’re inside. Just follow me.”

With a wave of his hand, he used the token to open the gateway, and the two of them stepped into the void.

As space rippled, their figures appeared in another small world.

What met their eyes was endless blade light covering everything.

A mountain of blades lay ahead, a sea of flames behind.

Looking into the distance, it wasn’t really a mountain range, but a vast, undulating plain filled with jagged terrain.

Across this plain, countless blades were embedded into the ground.

Every kind of blade imaginable.

Some radiated divine might, others brimmed with immortal aura.

Some demon blades evolved countless visions of blood seas.

There were even broken blades whose auras were even more terrifying.

Some blades were so ancient that time had weathered them into ruin.
