Ch. 1786 - Celestial Blood-Hand of Great Sorrow
On the plaza, rampant blood mist swept through the air.
A powerful, oppressive force howled past like a storm.
A figure appeared before Xu Zimo.
Seated at the center of the plaza, blood-colored lotuses surged up from the ground around him, while faint wailing sounds echoed from all directions.
An old man sat high above on a blood throne.
His back rested against the seat, blood light flashing through his eyes. His long hair nearly concealed his face.
The moment the old man appeared, the burly man who had led the way went weak in the knees and immediately knelt down.
“G-greetings, Prison Lord.”
“You’ve worked hard, bringing the enemy all the way here,” the old man said with a smile.
That smile was chilling.
The man knocked his head to the ground even harder and hurriedly explained, “Prison Lord, I had no choice.
“He forced me to lead the way.”
“I understand your difficulties,” the old man said gently, slowly extending his right hand.
Power surged from his palm. The surrounding white bones seemed to come alive.
His voice suddenly grew loud and cold.
“But you still must die.”
The white bones instantly lunged forward. Amid the man’s screams, he was torn apart and devoured by the bones.
The scene was nauseating.
The Blood Prison Thirteen Cities fell silent once more, echoing only with the man’s final screams.
The old man stood up.
In that instant, his aura enveloped the entire Blood Prison Thirteen Cities.
Blood seeped up from the ground beneath his feet. Doors on both sides of the buildings burst open as torrents of blood surged out.
In the blink of an eye, the previously empty city was flooded with blood.
The old man spread his arms and laughed loudly. “Welcome to the Blood Prison Thirteen Cities.”
An ordinary person would have been terrified out of their wits by such a sight.
Xu Zimo, however, remained unmoved.
He simply smiled. “Not bad. Quite the spectacle.”
The old man said nothing and swept his arms forward.
Endless blood surged in like a tidal wave, blotting out the sky, as if to bury Xu Zimo completely.
Xu Zimo narrowed his eyes. The edict of fire wrapped around his hand.
Flames so intense they could evaporate even an ocean erupted outward.
Boom.
From behind him, a fire dragon burst forth.
Its roar echoed as it carried a sea of flames. Wherever blood surged, the fire instantly evaporated it.
“Kill,” Xu Zimo said, waving his hand.
The fire dragon swung its massive tail, lifelike and ferocious, transforming into a torrent of flame that charged straight at the old man.
“Interesting,” the old man said calmly, lifting his hand.
Within the city, countless white bones instantly disassembled. The extracted bones gathered together, piece by piece, forming a massive shield.
The shield blocked the torrent of fire.
The old man’s aura surged even higher, shooting skyward like a rainbow.
With another wave of his hand, the bone shield transformed into a bone sword. Before it even swung, its sharp sword light destroyed everything in its path.
“Annihilate,” the old man muttered.
The bone sword slashed downward.
At that moment, it seemed as if the entire Blood Prison Thirteen Cities were split in two.
Terrifying power roared through the air.
Xu Zimo took the brunt of it and frowned slightly.
This old man was also an Infinite Dao realm cultivator.
That surprised him.
Were Infinite Dao cultivators so common in the Upper Heavens?
Even on the outskirts of the Mirage Tides Heaven, one could encounter such a being?
It was hard to believe.
The bone sword was entwined with the edicts of death and speed.
Xu Zimo snorted coldly.
The Creation Devouring God-Finger met the bone sword head-on. His finger was like a blade, creation power endlessly flowing, inexhaustible.
Devouring power swallowed mountains and rivers, vast and overwhelming.
Boom.
The bone sword shattered on impact, completely annihilated by the devouring power.
The old man’s expression changed.
His seemingly flawless strike had been blocked.
“You…” He stared at Xu Zimo.
After destroying the bone sword, the Creation Devouring God-Finger did not lose momentum and continued toward the old man.
The old man retreated rapidly, his figure splitting into countless afterimages before vanishing entirely.
Boom, boom.
The explosion’s shockwaves obliterated the entire plaza. The throne the old man had sat upon and the blood lotuses covering the ground were all wiped out.
“How dare you,” the old man shouted coldly.
His figure reappeared in another part of the void.
Only now did he truly regard Xu Zimo seriously, asking in a deep voice, “Who are you?”
At the same time, the other City Sovereigns of the Blood Prison Thirteen Cities rushed over.
Such a massive disturbance could no longer be ignored.
However, the other City Sovereigns were only at the Saint Sovereign realm, with some merely at the Grand Emperor realm.
Clearly, only this old man, stationed in the main city, was an Infinite Dao cultivator.
“My identity isn’t important,” Xu Zimo replied calmly. “I’ll give you a choice. Do you want to live, or do you want to die?”
Hearing this, the old man’s gaze darkened.
“In the Mirage Tides Heaven, do you really think you can overturn the heavens?” he retorted.
“Overturning the skies of the Nine Heavens might be difficult,” Xu Zimo laughed.
“But overturning the skies of your Mirage Tides Heaven? What’s so hard about that?”
As he spoke, he waved his hand and Shadow Tyrant appeared in his grip.
In an instant, he swung hundreds of slashes.
Boundless blade light enveloped the old man in the blink of an eye.
The old man’s aura was equally terrifying.
“Celestial Blood-Hand of Great Sorrow.”
He raised his right hand. Instantly, all the blood rivers of the Blood Prison Thirteen Cities were drawn toward him.
Immense power surged like an ocean.
Boom, boom.
The Blood Prison Thirteen Cities were vast, composed of thirteen enormous cities.
The amount of blood sea contained within was unimaginable.
Yet now, it was all compressed into a single palm.
The sheer power within defied comprehension.
The Celestial Blood-Hand of Great Sorrow clenched forward, drowning all of Xu Zimo’s blade light in the blood sea.
However, the blade light had only been a feint.
“Nine Hells Desolation.”
Xu Zimo’s figure appeared before the old man without warning.
Nine Hells descended. The blood sea collapsed.
This was the trigger of destruction.
Xu Zimo’s blade tore through the blood mist. With a loud crack, the blade light swept forward, unstoppable.
The old man was split cleanly in two.
At the Infinite Dao realm, killing someone was no longer so simple.
Even cut in half, the old man’s vitality remained strong. The two halves of his body retreated backward.
“Prison Lord Ming, we’ll help you,” the other Prison Lords shouted as they rushed forward.
“Stand back,” the old man roared.
“This is not a battle you can take part in.”
Xu Zimo’s strength exceeded all expectations. It made even him tremble.
If even an Infinite Dao cultivator like himself could be nearly slain, what chance did these Saint Sovereigns have?
Infinite Dao cultivators truly possessed formidable vitality. Before long, the old man recovered.
“Want to try again?” Xu Zimo asked with a smile.
“What do you want?” Prison Lord Ming demanded.
“I want to go to Jade Court. I came here to borrow a path,” Xu Zimo replied casually.
“Jade Court lies on the border of the Mirage Tides Heaven, tens of billions of miles away from here,” Prison Lord Ming said.
“And there are no teleportation formations here. Even if you can tear through the heavens and walk through the void, a few years might not be enough.”
“You must have a way,” Xu Zimo said with a smile. “Otherwise, the Blood Prison Thirteen Cities will disappear today.”
