Ch. 1475 - Be My Attendant
“A python that has attained the Dao, huh? Seems they don’t walk a righteous path. Otherwise, even a python could one day become a dragon. Their nature must be flawed, no wonder the Fire God Race looks down on them,” Xu Zimo said.
“I don’t know about that, but the Fire Python Holy Lands is indeed stronger than our current Ancient Eternal God Realm. In many matters, we’ve had to endure their oppression, avoiding direct conflict,” Wang Wei sighed. “I just don’t know when we’ll be able to rise again.”
“What about that Wang Yunpeng?” Xu Zimo asked. “What’s his position in the Fire Python Holy Lands?”
“Wang Yunpeng is one of their prodigies. Don’t be fooled by his arrogance or poor manners, his talent is frightening,” Wang Wei said with a bitter look. “He’s only been cultivating for a few hundred years, but he’s already one of the strongest in the Fire Python Holy Lands. Even their Holy Lord treats him with some fear.”
Wang Wei leaned in and whispered, “We’ve actually heard rumors. They say Wang Yunpeng is the reincarnation of a great figure from the Fire Python Holy Lands’ past. That’s why his cultivation is so extraordinary.”
“A reincarnated powerhouse, huh?” Xu Zimo smiled. “That’s interesting.”
“If I ever become strong enough, I’ll kill him,” Wang Wei muttered through gritted teeth. “That guy has always been eyeing our Realm Lord, not just because of her beauty, but because her Ice-Snow Physique is said to be incredibly beneficial for his cultivation.”
“Kid, you’d better just focus on your training,” Xu Zimo chuckled.
“Young Master Xu, to be honest, I don’t think you’re an ordinary person,” Wang Wei suddenly said.
“Oh? What makes you say that?” Xu Zimo asked with amusement.
“I told you about the Fire Python Holy Lands, and you didn’t seem surprised at all. You just listened calmly. That means a sect like theirs doesn’t even register in your eyes, right?” Wang Wei asked carefully.
“Heh, for a kid, you’ve got a pretty sharp eye,” Xu Zimo laughed. “You’re right. I’ll admit it, I’m actually the final Infernal Lord of this world. I once waged war against High Heaven and almost destroyed the world.”
Wang Wei almost burst out laughing. “Young Master Xu, I didn’t know you had such a sense of humor. If you told me you were some reclusive expert, maybe I’d believe it. But this? Come on.”
“See? No one ever believes me when I tell the truth,” Xu Zimo sighed. “Anyway, about your Realm Lord, don’t think she hasn’t rejected Wang Yunpeng outright just because she didn’t say so. That’s only a delaying tactic. Your Ancient Eternal God Realm and the Fire Python Holy Lands are mortal enemies. There’s no way you’d ever form an alliance.”
Wang Wei nodded seriously. “Exactly. That’s why, if you happen to know any powerful people or factions, maybe you could introduce them to us?”
Xu Zimo looked at him silently for a while before saying, “That doesn’t sound like something you’d say. Someone put you up to it, didn’t they?”
“No, no,” Wang Wei scratched his head quickly. “I just figured it out myself, Young Master Xu. Don’t overthink it.”
“I do know a force that could help,” Xu Zimo said after a pause.
“Really?” Wang Wei’s eyes lit up.
“Really. But this isn’t something you can decide. Tell whoever’s behind you to come talk to me instead,” Xu Zimo waved him off.
Wang Wei smiled awkwardly and didn’t argue.
Over the next few days, the airship was unusually quiet, aside from Wang Yunpeng occasionally showing up to cause trouble. The Fire Python Holy Lands’ airship followed closely behind them, almost as if keeping watch.
As for Xu Zimo, he had little to do besides condensing more Life Leaves.
One evening, as he stood outside the cabin watching the night sky as usual, the figure of the Realm Lord silently appeared beside him.
“I knew that little fatty was acting on your orders,” Xu Zimo said with a grin.
The Realm Lord smiled faintly. Her skin was as pale as snow, and her white robes shimmered under the moonlight like frost. She stood there quietly, serene and ethereal, like a being apart from the world.
“Wang Wei is clever,” she said. “Some of what he said was my idea. Some he came up with himself. Actually, the first time you were found unconscious in the cabin, I knew you weren’t ordinary. When you fell from the void, the storm that gathered there could have obliterated even a Grand Emperor. But you were unharmed.”
“So?” Xu Zimo waited for her to continue.
“At first, I didn’t want the Ancient Eternal God Realm to have any connection to you,” she said calmly. “That’s why I warned you not to cause trouble. You’re an unpredictable factor, and our sect needs stability right now.”
Xu Zimo only smiled faintly. “But the appearance of the Fire Python Holy Lands changed your mind, didn’t it? Now you’re wondering if you can use my strength to get rid of their pressure.”
“I won’t deny it,” she said frankly.
“So what do I get in return?” Xu Zimo asked.
“We saved you, didn’t we? Isn’t it right to repay that favor?” The Realm Lord smiled slightly. Her beauty at that moment was dazzling, enough to outshine the moon itself.
But Xu Zimo remained unmoved. “You know very well that even without your help, I’d have been fine. Calling that a favor is generous, it’s not even a drop in the bucket.”
“Then surely you should at least pay some fare for traveling on our ship,” she said.
“You…” Xu Zimo shook his head, “really think too small.”
“I’d love to think big, but the Ancient Eternal God Realm can’t afford that luxury right now,” she sighed.
Xu Zimo chuckled. “If you want my help, that’s fine. But what I want… is you.”
At that, a wave of pressure surged from her body before she quickly calmed herself.
“I see. You’re just like Wang Yunpeng,” she said coldly. “Seems I was wrong about you.”
“Girl, you want to gain without giving. The world doesn’t work that way,” Xu Zimo said lazily. He wasn’t the one in a hurry, others were far more anxious than him.
“I’m the Realm Lord of the Ancient Eternal God Realm. There’s no way I’d do anything with you,” she said firmly, regaining her composure. “Name another condition.”
“Don’t flatter yourself,” Xu Zimo said with a grin. “I wasn’t finished talking.”
“What I want,” he continued, “is for you to serve as my maid for a while. In return, I might consider finding you a faction to ally with. As for being with me? You couldn’t handle it even if you wanted to. I’m going to the Fire God Race’s Ancestral Lands soon, and I could use a maid.”
Hearing that, the Realm Lord’s first reaction was anger. But she quickly swallowed it.
For the sake of the Ancient Eternal God Realm’s future, she could endure even this.
All for the Ancient Eternal God Realm.
