Hello, Comrade. I'm Here to Marry You!

Chapter 160: Kiss Me

They went upstairs and arrived at their apartment.

Opening the door, Xie Huaizheng looked at Su Zhaozhao a bit nervously. "Zhaozhao, this is how I’ve set up our place for now. What do you think?"

He had spent the whole afternoon cleaning the place. It was basically all tidy now, and he had brought in all the things he’d bought earlier.

That included clothes for Su Zhaozhao, which he had also bought and put away in advance.

It was all for this moment—to bring Su Zhaozhao here and give her a surprise.

This was their home.

But he was still a little nervous, unsure if Su Zhaozhao would like his sense of style.

"Wow, hubby, you’re amazing! It’s beautiful! I love it!" Su Zhaozhao broke free from Xie Huaizheng’s grasp, a brilliant smile on her face as she spun around the room.

’So this is my and Xie Huaizheng’s place?’

She had wanted to come see it for a while, but Xie Huaizheng wouldn’t let her, saying he wanted her to wait until he had it all set up.

Now, he had finally brought her.

The layout of the apartment was similar to Zhou Xiaoyun’s, but the decor was completely different.

Xie Huaizheng had chosen a blue fabric sofa, simple and elegant.

The coffee table and TV stand were a matching shade of brown, both wooden cabinets.

A few books were placed on the side, and a telephone had also been installed.

The living room opened onto a balcony. Xie Huaizheng had left the balcony door open, and a comfortable breeze WHOOSHED in.

Next to the living room were the kitchen and dining area.

The kitchen wasn’t large, but it was fully equipped. Xie Huaizheng had even bought all the seasonings, and there was a small refrigerator.

’Refrigerators are so expensive these days! I can’t believe Xie Huaizheng bought one without a word.’

Next to the kitchen was the bathroom, where towels and toothbrushes were already set out.

One pink towel and one blue one.

Su Zhaozhao turned to him. "You’ve prepared everything?"

Xie Huaizheng nodded with a smile.

She ran to the bedroom to have a look.

There was a master bedroom and a second bedroom.

The master bedroom looked to be over ten square meters, with a 1.5-meter-wide bed already made with red sheets. Above the headboard, a "double happiness" character was pasted on the wall, creating a festive atmosphere.

A window was right next to the bed, and the wardrobe was beautifully crafted.

’Is this really my and Xie Huaizheng’s room?’

Su Zhaozhao looked at it all, finding it novel and exciting.

Xie Huaizheng stood right behind Su Zhaozhao, following her wherever she went.

Watching Su Zhaozhao look around like a curious child made his heart melt.

’My Zhaozhao is so adorable.’

Su Zhaozhao turned around, not expecting Xie Huaizheng to be right behind her. She bumped into him and nearly lost her footing.

Xie Huaizheng immediately steadied her by the waist. "Be careful."

Su Zhaozhao wrapped her arms back around Xie Huaizheng’s waist, hugging him tightly as if clinging to her own personal safe zone.

"It’s beautiful. I love it. I love every single thing. Hubby, you put so much thought into this! Thank you! I finally have a home in this world!"

Before, Su Zhaozhao had felt like she was just drifting. Her original family could hardly be called a home; it was no different from purgatory.

Later, she fled to West State. It was a long and arduous journey, and she endured many hardships to get here.

However, she had been living in a guesthouse all this time. Although she could be free in her personal space...

...it never felt like home.

But at this moment, looking at this apartment, she knew this place belonged to her and Xie Huaizheng.

She finally had a home in this world.

Hearing this, Xie Huaizheng couldn’t help but frown.

’A home in this world?’

’Does "this world" mean West State?’

For Su Zhaozhao, who came from the Jiangnan Water Village, this place truly was like another world.

Dry, windswept, sun-scorched, and desolate.

The complete opposite of the world she used to live in.

Xie Huaizheng gazed down at the small, soft girl in his arms.

He couldn’t help but tighten his arms, holding her close as if she were afraid he would leave her.

In that instant, Xie Huaizheng’s heart clenched. A strange pang of pain made his breath catch.

He thought about how hard her life had been all these years, tormented by her father and stepmother, running away to find him here.

And yet, he had been so awful to her at first, trying to drive her away.

All this time, she’d had no choice but to live in a guesthouse.

’How inconvenient that must have been. And perhaps, at the beginning, a girl living there all alone... she must have been scared, right?’

’And now she says something like this...’

Xie Huaizheng hugged Su Zhaozhao forcefully, then simply lifted her up and placed her on the bed.

Su Zhaozhao was petite, and he easily loomed over her. The man knelt before her, placing his hands on her slender shoulders, then leaned in to kiss her lips.

"Zhaozhao, you won’t have to suffer anymore. Whatever you want, I’ll work hard to give it to you."

Before, Xie Huaizheng didn’t understand what it felt like to love someone. He couldn’t grasp why so many people in the world would go through hell and back for love.

But now, after falling for someone, he realized that if Su Zhaozhao wanted his heart, he would probably tear it out of his own chest and give it to her.

Su Zhaozhao seemed completely drunk now. She stared at him with a hazy look in her eyes, as if she were trying to process his words.

Just as Xie Huaizheng thought Su Zhaozhao wouldn’t respond, just as he was about to hold her chin to kiss her again...

Su Zhaozhao suddenly broke into a smile. "Mhm, I know. My hubby is the most capable man in the world. Being with you, our future will be nothing but sweet!"

As Su Zhaozhao spoke, she reached out and wrapped her arms around Xie Huaizheng’s neck.

Then, she pressed a kiss to Xie Huaizheng’s lips.

She kissed him hard, but it was just one peck before she let him go.

The scent of alcohol, mixed with a faint fragrance of jasmine, left Xie Huaizheng stunned.

He felt like he was drunk, too.

Then, an uncontrollable fire began to spread through his body.

Usually, even when she wasn’t being proactive, he wanted to devour her.

Let alone now, with Su Zhaozhao being so forward, constantly praising him—her words of praise, her adoring gaze, ever since they walked through the door.

Xie Huaizheng was about to go crazy with pent-up desire.

His jet-black eyes stared deeply at the girl before him as he coaxed in a low voice, "Since I’m so capable, shouldn’t you praise me a little?"

Su Zhaozhao tilted her head, her dark eyes filled with confusion. "How should I praise you?"

"Kiss me. Like I’ve kissed you before. Do you know how?"

The man’s fingers caressed Su Zhaozhao’s cheek as he moved closer and closer, his face almost touching hers.

Su Zhaozhao sat on the bed while Xie Huaizheng knelt before her. Their position at that moment was intimate and suggestive.

Su Zhaozhao easily cupped Xie Huaizheng’s face in her hands.

She gazed at Xie Huaizheng’s flawless features. His usually cold expression was now impossibly gentle.

Surging emotions flickered within his jet-black eyes, which also reflected her own image.
