Genetic Ascension

Chapter 1658 Yourself

Chapter 1658 Yourself

Keyesen’s gaze flashed. He had already noticed something unique within him change after gaining Sylas’ F-Grade Perfect Emperor Scorpion Gene. But it was taking some time to root itself properly.

It took a great sacrifice to even go back and add a Gene so far backward in the first place.

Keyesen was closing in on the perfection of the D-tier. In fact, he would ahve already been at the C-tier if he didn’t also need to take a step back in order to accomodate this new Gene.

While it looked like he had been wasting time and having fun with girls, that was because he knew that right now training would be a waste of his time. He needed to consume large amounts of food and indulge to ensure that his Will was in a prime state to slowly involve.

In another year or two, he felt that his Foundation would be reaffirmed and the secrets that lied within his Spirit Beast Lineage would be revealed.

However, even he didn’t expect that he was opening up a path to become a God Beast. If that was the case, this was huge.

Seeing Keyesen’s reaction being so muted, the appreciation the Ancestor Scorpion had in his heart for his descendent only deepened. Quite frankly, he didn’t care very much if Keyesen wanted to kill him or not.

“Your father should have brought you to me as a child, but I cannot blame him too much for his poor sight. There is a large gap between the B-tier and A-tier that he cannot easily bridge. So, I will tell you myself.

“You are a unique and special case because your main Spirit Beast is that of the Scorpion. What makes this interesting is that you have three other Spirits Beasts that are strong enough to count as your Secondary Spirit Beasts. And what makes that even more intriguing is that fact that these three Spirits Beasts are the Whale, the Ape, and the Serpent.”

Pedraeg’s brows leapt upward, but once again, Keyesen’s reaction was incredibly muted as though he already had these speculations himself. Having someone tell him now was only as good as speeding up the process for him.

Had he learned this when he was a child, though, it would ahve made a true difference.

“Because you failed to perfect your F-Grade Emperor Armor, you missed the most crucial first step in stimulating your Scorpion Spirit Beast. Because the Whale, Ape, and Serpent are so naturally powerful, even as secondaries, they suppressed your Scorpion Spirit. In the end, the result is what you see here and now.

“You have lost out a great deal.”

Keyesen’s gloomy expression only darkened further. He knew that he had made a mistake being too arrogant as a child, but he didn’t know that he had lost out this much.

This was far worse than he knew it to be.

“However, now you have a chance to reverse all of this.”

“Pardon my interruption, Ancestor,” Pedraeg interjected. “If my Keyesen will become a God Beast, this is more than enough reason for the other Ancestors to forgive us, no? They will certainly find it very worthwhile. It has been two generations since our last God Beast appeared, and the lives and deaths of the others are unknown as it’s very difficult to establish communication with the God Heavens.”

Ancestor Scorpion held up a hand and Pedraeg immediately stopped speaking.

“As things stand right now, the boy has a less than 10% chance of becoming a God Beast. If you had brought him to me when he was young, then those chances would have been more substantial, but they would have still been only 30 to 40% at best.

“Second, we have already taken our stance. Are you not aware of our Scorpion Lineage’s reputation in The Sanctum? If I had known earlier than the boy had such potential, I may have taken a new approach, but now things are very different.

“The Ancestors have chosen to build a system of merit and ahve already redirected what Karma we ahve left toward this path. It is already too late to reverse course and have them pour all of their resources into a single youth now, especially not for such a low probability.

“And lastly, this path would only make it even more unlikely for the boy to succeed. I have yet to finish explaining, but the reason the boy is so impulsive is precisely because of his unique combination of Spirits.

“The Greed of his Scorpion Spirit is stoked by the Gluttony of the Whale, the Wrath of the Ape and the Lust of the Serpents. He has little to no inhibitions, and if he is given what he needs instead of taking it himself, it will have the opposite effect.

“In a way, the only good thing you’ve done in your life is allowing the boy to become as impulsive as he is. That is why his Will hasn’t collapsed in on itself.”

Pedraeg’s brows furrowed. Greed? Gluttony? Wrath? Why did there feel like there were odd Will fluctuations in the air when Ancestor Scorpion spoke these words.

They were words Pedraeg had heard a million times before, and yet right now it felt like he was hearing them for the first time.

But somehow he also knew to not dare to ask.

Ancestor Scorpion’s eyes never left Keyesen as he spoke these words slowly.

“I’m sure you understand, right? If you want this, you will have to claim it for yourself. But I can do something for you. As it seems now, the weaknesses of your foundation will take another two years to fix. I will shrink the timeline to just two weeks. Then, you will go out into the world yourself.”

“When can I kill him.”

Ancestor Scorpion sneered. “You can kill him whenever you want. But if your ascent to God Beast isn’t guaranteed at that point, I will kill you and hand your head over with both hands to the Ancestors.”

“Coward.” Keyesen growled.

“You will just be another limb I sacrifice. What use are you if you do not become a God Beast?”
