Chapter 413: Are You Interested?
Chapter 413: Are You Interested?
He squinted his eyes. "You didn’t get it wrong. I mean what you are thinking." She put her hands around his neck and stared at him, looking seductive. James felt tight in his lower abdomen, and he couldn’t help but swallow his saliva. And he then reached out his hands to wrap her waist and pulled her closer.
"Then... are you interested in my body?" There were hot sparks in his eyes. Yvonne smiled and gently drew a circle on his chest with her finger.
"If I say yes, will you let me study it?"
"Of course, I will be happy to serve as your research material." He stopped her hands from moving about and got closer to her, and their breaths mingled. Yvonne’s eyebrows drooped slightly, and she said in a voice tinged with eroticism, "Then...I will help myself."
When she finished speaking, the blanket quickly covered them, concealing their intimacy. They moved from the balcony to the living room and then to the bedroom. After a long time, gasps sounded in the darkness. "Yvonne, why are you so different tonight? I want to see your face."
James’s panting voice was particularly charming. "Don’t! Don’t turn on the lights!" Yvonne stopped him eagerly. In the darkness, James retracted his hand and said softly, "Okay, I will always listen to you." A crystal tear fell silently in this charming night. The passionate night passed. When James woke up the next morning, he was surprised by the mess in the room. Although he knew the intensity of their sex last night, he hadn’t expected the room to be like this. There were torn fabrics scattered everywhere on the floor, and the degree of shredding could be described as horrifying.
James felt confused and couldn’t help looking at Yvonne who was still asleep. Was it her that had done it? A hint of surprise flashed across his eyes, but it quickly dissipated, and he smirked. The word "horny" involuntarily popped up in his mind, and he shook his head with a chuckle and got out of bed. He called his assistant and asked him to send a set of women’s clothing here before he went into the bathroom to wash up. When he came out, Yvonne was already awake.
"You woke up?"
He walked over, intending to kiss her but was stopped, so his kiss fell on the back of her hand. "I haven’t brushed my teeth."
Yvonne pulled the blanket over her head. James chuckled and pulled it away, saying, "I don’t mind it."
"No way! I mind it!" She pushed him away, got up, and rushed into the bathroom.
James chuckled and shook his head. Suddenly, the doorbell rang. James went to open the door. Hammer stood there outside the door, holding a bag in his hand. "Mr. Taylor, here are the clothes you want." James took it.
"There is a meeting in half an hour. Do you want me to wait for you?" Hammer asked. James glanced at his watch and said, "You go down first. I’ll be there in a while." "OK." Hammer turned and left.
James then returned to the bedroom with the bag. Yvonne had already washed up. Seeing the bag in his hand, she blushed with embarrassment. James swept across her blushing cheeks, smiling in a good mood. "What are you going to do later?" He handed the bag over.
Yvonne took it with a red face and touched her forehead unnaturally, saying, "I do not know."
"Do you want to go to the company with me?" He opened the closet and took a white shirt.
Yvonne shook her head, "No, I can’t help even if I go." She put the bag aside, walked over to help him button up the shirt, and inadvertently glanced at the red marks on his chest. She couldn’t help but walk away slightly, quickly straightened his shirt, and went back to the bed, intending to catch some more sleep. James thought she was tired, so he didn’t dwell on it. After putting on his suit jacket, he walked to the bed and said, "Then...you will continue to sleep, eh?"
He approached and stole a kiss from her with a smile. Yvonne pulled the blanket over her head in embarrassment. Hearing his footsteps getting farther and farther, she lifted the blanket. After making sure that he had left, she let out a long sigh of relief, got up, changed her clothes, and went out. She took a taxi at the entrance of the hotel and asked the driver to go to Tomaville Hospital. Last night, when she had told James that she was interested in human bodies, she had not been joking.
She had studied medicine for so long. She hadn’t liked it at the beginning, but she had had a strong interest in it during the process of learning. Now, she loved the profession of a doctor. How could she give up like this? But there was no need to stay in that hospital anymore. She needed to resign first. After Yvonne rushed to the hospital, she immediately handed in her resignation letter, but it was rejected soon.
She went to the HR department to inquire about the reason, and they told her it was because some supervisors did not agree. She didn’t know who the supervisors were. But she was sure that Stanley must be one of them. So, she took her resignation letter and went directly to Stanley’s office. When she entered, there was someone else in the office. A patient was consulting something, and Stanley was answering seriously.
If she had not seen his true color a long time ago, she would think he was a noble-minded person, but now she couldn’t help but sneer. Stanley seemed to have noticed her arrival, glanced sideways in her direction, and said something to the patient. The patient then thanked him and left. He then adjusted his glasses and got up, saying, "Yvonne, here you are. Please sit down."
He poured a glass of water and handed it over. Yvonne did not take it but put the resignation letter directly on the desk, saying, "I am here to hand in the resignation letter. Dr. Levingston, I hope you can approve it."
Stanley was not surprised as if he had known why she had come. He put the glass aside, picked up the resignation letter, read it, and said, "I don’t agree." "Why?" Yvonne was puzzled.
In her opinion, Stanley had no reason to disagree. She knew so many shameful things about him, so he should have no reason to persuade her to stay. Moreover, the relationship between them was embarrassing. Stanley said, "Don’t forget you
have got a bad record because you trespassed on the ICU."
"So what? Does it have anything to do with my resignation?" Yvonne was puzzled.
"Of course, it does. You were recruited by me, so I need to be responsible for your actions. Since you made such a mistake, how can I get away with it?" Stanley said. Yvonne thought his explanation was extremely absurd because she had never heard of collective punishment in the hospital. Obviously, he was deliberately making things difficult for her.
She asked coldly, "What do you want?" Stanley glanced at her and said, "Listen. Our department must dispatch a medical worker to remote mountain areas recently. As long as you can stay there for three years, I will approve your resignation."
...
"What if I disagree?" Yvonne said coldly. Stanley adjusted the glasses on the bridge of his nose and smiled, "You know the rules of the medical circle. If there is no letter of recommendation from me, you will not be able to find another job in any other hospital. Think about it carefully."
"How dare you?" Yvonne glared at him. Stanley didn’t care at all, and he said, "Yvonne, this is my last concession. Don’t you want to be a doctor anymore?"
With that, he returned to his chair, lowered his head, and started to work, apparently not intending to continue talking to her. Yvonne bit her lip and stood still. She knew what Stanley had said was true. In this circle, people could not tolerate the slightest trace of taint, especially professional taint. When she had trespassed into the ICU, she had undoubtedly made the lowest-level mistake. If there was no recommendation letter from Stanley, she was afraid that she would not be able to gain a foothold in this circle as he had said.
However, three years were not a short time. If she did not go, she would no longer be able to be a doctor anymore. Thinking of this, she closed her eyes and said, "Okay, I’ll go."
Hearing this, Stanley sneered, "Now that you have agreed, fill out this form and submit it." He then took out a form from a bag and handed it over. Yvonne took it and held it in her hand, saying, "When will I set off?"
"If nothing else, you will set off the day after tomorrow."
"The day after tomorrow?"
So urgent!
She suppressed her anger and said, "Okay, the day after tomorrow." She took the form and got out of the office. Stanley looked at her back and raised his eyebrows triumphantly. Yvonne had been thinking about the problem back from the hospital, Y. Three years were neither too long nor too short. It was long enough to forget one person and start another relationship. That would be good. She would take the opportunity to end it. She wanted to give James and herself a chance to choose again.
If he was still willing to be with her after three years, then she would no longer care about the issue of infertility and spend the rest of her life with him with all her heart. But if he started another relationship after three years, it would prove that their love was not so deep and could be replaced at any time. If so, she would have no reason to stick to it. But how should she explain it to James? Would he agree? She became upset at the thought of this. But no matter what, she wanted to give it a try.
With this in mind, she asked the taxi driver to go to the Taylor family. When she entered the house, she saw Mrs. Taylor in the living room. Sitting on the sofa, Mrs. Taylor was a little surprised because she hadn’t expected Yvonne to come back so early. Yvonne was also surprised to see her. After all, James had said that she would be away for a few days. She had originally thought Mrs. Taylor would be back next week, but unexpectedly, she had returned so quickly.
Yvonne thought it must be because she was feeling worried. Thinking of this, Yvonne
couldn’t help but let out a sneer, stepped forward, and said, "I didn’t expect you to return so quickly." Mrs. Taylor didn’t speak but got up and walked in front of her, looked her up and down, and then said, "You and James did not return home last night?" Yvonne didn’t know if she was blaming her or not, and she nodded.
Mrs. Taylor paused nervously as if she was trying to figure something out and then said, "So, have you made the decision?" She was not sure. Yvonne didn’t hide it and nodded. Mrs. Taylor calmed down and said, "Good. I hope you made the right decision." While speaking, she patted Yvonne’s shoulder lightly, turned around, and walked away. Yvonne breathed a sigh of relief. She stared at the leaving back of Mrs. Taylor, sneered, then turned around, and went upstairs to her bedroom. She hesitated in the bedroom for a long time before finally calling James.
It didn’t take long for him to pick up the phone. "Are you missing me?"
His tone was playful as usual. Yvonne reached out her hand and rubbed her temples. "Let’s meet outside in the evening," she said solemnly. James on the other end of the phone paused and then chuckled lightly, "How should we meet?"
His joking tone showed he still thought she was flirting with him. Yvonne closed her eyes and said, "I will be in the cafe on the first floor of your company at six o’clock in the evening." She hung up the phone when she heard him replied "OK", but then she stared at the black screen for a long time. After a long while, she let out a long sigh, got up, took her bag, and left home. In James’s office in the Taylor Group. After hanging up the phone, James sat in his chair, playing with the pen in his hand happily. At the thought of the mysterious invitation from Yvonne on the phone, he couldn’t help feeling excited.
He thought she had given him too many surprises recently, including these crazy sexes and little sudden romances. Thinking of the different feelings she had brought to him in the past few days, he couldn’t wait to meet her, although there were still three hours before the appointment time. But during these three hours, Yvonne had done a lot of things.
She first submitted the application form for joining the medical team to the remote mountain areas, and then went to the lawyer’s office. When it was almost 6 p.m., she drove to James’s company. In the coffee shop, James had been waiting there. The appointment time was 6 o’clock, but he had arrived at 5:50 because he was eager to see her. He went to a table by the window, ordered the coffee that she often drank, and waited there anxiously. Time passed by, but she still did not appear when it was already 6 p.m..
He was a little worried, so he quickly took out his cell phone and called her, but the call was hung up immediately. He stared at the cell phone, feeling puzzled. Suddenly, the chair in front of him was pulled out. He looked up and found that she was already sitting opposite him. He was taken aback and then relieved. As if thinking of something, he groaned, "Naughty. You asked me out to date, but you are late. Are you deliberately making me anxious?"
There was a smile in his eyes. Yvonne’s heart suddenly sank. She wanted to say that she didn’t mean to be late but was delayed, but when she opened her mouth, she could not say a word. Seeing her not answer, James said, "Say it. What surprises do you have prepared for me?"
He stared at her and rested his chin in his right hand, looking anxious. Yvonne
avoided his eyes and took a sip of the coffee with a guilty conscience. When she calmed down, she said, "I asked you to come here because I have something important to tell you."
