Gu Huaxian couldn’t help but say, “Don’t tell me you realized a long time ago that Di E and Dao Venerate Lu Shi wouldn’t be a match for Su Yi?”
The Dipankara Buddha shook his head. “Di E has reservations, and wouldn’t dare to intervene. Dao Venerate Lu Shi is powerful, but his true body cannot enter the God Domain. That’s what gave Su Yi an opening.”
He paused, then said, “Still, I didn’t anticipate that the Three Purities Daoist Court would lose so completely and utterly.”

“You’re wrong,” said the Dipankara Buddha. “Everyone is waiting. That’s true of us, and of the experts of the River of Destiny, and for those from other spacetimes, too. It’s not that we have no means of defeating Su Yi, but that we are choosing not to strike at this time.”
Gu Huaxian vaguely understood. “Ultimately, we’ve all chosen to lie low until the arrival of the Dark Days of Legend. We aren’t willing to enter the battlefield and fight Su Yi prior to that.”
The Dipankara Buddha inclined his head. “Everyone at all perceptive has chosen that course of action.”
Gu Huaxian sighed. “But doesn’t that mean that Su Yi can do whatever he pleases in the years leading up to the Dark Days of Legend?”
The Dipankara Buddha fell silent. That was the reality; he couldn’t argue.
Were that not the case, there was no way he’d have evacuated the Western Paradise Spirit Mountains or gone into seclusion in this hidden realm.
“A moment’s impatience can ruin the bigger picture. Over the next few years, we’ll have to see who can endure the longest, and who can hide themself the deepest,” said the Dipakara Buddha after a pause. “Because… given Su Yi’s disposition, his retribution is sure to shake the entire God Domain!”
Gu Huaxian’s eyes narrowed. “Aren’t you worried that Su Yi will find us?”
“I am,” the Dipankara Buddha said calmly, “But I’ve long since made arrangements. Even if Su Yi shows up, I have means of countering him.”
Gu Huaxian sighed to herself. “That’s for the best.”

“The Three Purities Daoist Court was destroyed because of me. I cannot let this score go unsettled!”
Di E stood at the peak of a solitary, desolate mountain, a lingering glower on his face. Nothing grew there, not even grass. Everything was empty on all sides.
“I have good news.” The little girl manifested of the natural order appeared out of nowhere. “During the battle in which the Three Purities Daoist Court was destroyed, a power that violated the Eternal Taboo appeared, inviting a strange cataclysm.
“Although the cataclysm never really fell, it was enough to damage the natural order of the God Domain! According to word I just received from the River of Destiny, the Dark Days of Legend will now arrive earlier than expected!”
Di E whipped around to look at the little girl. “Truly?”
“We’re absolutely sure of it,” said the little girl. “The experts of the River of Destiny initially predicted that the natural order of the God Domain would collapse in about twenty years’ time. Now, the collapse will take just about half that time. That means the Dark Days of Legend will arrive a decade earlier than expected!”
Di E’s heart shook. “Does that mean that the experts of the River of Destiny will be able to descend then, too?”
“The collapse of the natural order won’t happen overnight,” said the little girl. “It’ll be a long, drawn-out process. It’s only when the natural order of the God Domain breaks down completely that they’ll be able to descend.”
“Then do we need to modify our plans?” said Di E.
“No need,” said the little girl. “All we need to do now is wait. Ten years, that’s all. It’ll be over in a flash.”
Di E nodded, then recalled something. “What exactly happened during the Three Purities Daoist Court’s destruction? Someone seriously violated an Eternal Taboo?”
The little girl shook his head. “No one has managed to figure it out yet, but I can say with certainty that Su Yi was involved.”
Di E’s eyes narrowed. He sighed. “To tell the truth, by now, even I can’t help but admire Su Yi. It seems there’s no end to his secrets.”
The little girl glanced at him. “Those secrets are connected to the catastrophes of his numerous reincarnations. The slightest misstep, and he’ll face insurmountable doom. Don’t you think he’s… quite pitiable?”

The ethereal figure was none other than an avatar of the founder of the Three Purities Daoist Court, someone Lu Shi had respectfully addressed as his Daoist Brother way back in the earliest days of the God Domain’s history.
“When the Dark Days of Legend arrive, numerous disasters and variables are sure to arise, but so will strokes of good fortune rare even on the River of Destiny,” said the ethereal figure. “I hope that, if the opportunity arises, you can take a trip personally.”
Lu Shi was stunned. “I’m afraid my true body will struggle to enter the God Domain. I’ll at most be able to send a clone.”
“When the time comes, I’ll help you,” said the ethereal figure.
“That would be wonderful!” said Lu Shi, his spirits soaring.

The Endless Ocean, Sunset Perch Island.
Li Sanjiu escorted Luo Qingdi and the young Xiao Xiao safely to their destination. Word of the demise of the Three Purities Daoist Court reached them not long after the Luo siblings reunited.
For a moment, the entire island boiled over.
“It’s a pity that I couldn’t participate,” sighed Zang Wushu. He was responsible for guarding Sunset Perch Island, so he couldn’t join them in battle. He found it an awful pity.
It wasn’t just him, either. The Five Desires Demon Venerate, Demon Ancestor Treasure Leaf, Yan Chizhen, and several other of Su Yi’s old friends hadn’t been able to participate either. All of them had stayed behind to guard the island with Zang Wushu.
“Next time, it’s my turn to fight. I can’t let Wen Qingfeng and the others seize all the glory,” grumbled Five Desires.
“That’s right. I’m hoping for an opportunity to kill those two traitors, Golden Crane and Divine Billows!”
“Rest assured. I’m sure we’ll get the chance sooner or later!”
As the old-timers conversed, they practically rubbed their hands together with anticipation. They hated that they couldn’t join Su Yi in seeking revenge then and there.
