Chapter 2321 - Stabilizing the Wind and Waves
Chapter 2321 – Stabilizing the Wind and Waves
Su Yi recognized them at a glance. All of them were old acquaintances.
Their ranks included Master God Tian Huang, Shao Yunke, and others who’d been there at the battle of Skybright Mountain.
There was no doubt about it. They’d hidden themselves earlier, coordinating with Master God Yun He and the others from the shadows!
But now, the shifting of circumstances had forced them to reveal themselves!
“Everyone, his power of Supreme Emergence might be enough to threaten you, but it cannot threaten us,” Master God Tian Huang said gravely. “I can tell that you hate Su Yi to the bone, too. In that case, why not step aside and watch as we capture him?
“In that case, you won’t need to fear his power, and your predicament will be resolved with ease!”
His voice boomed throughout the area. He was addressing Master Cloud Refiner and the other old monsters.
Master God Yun He and the others’ spirits soared as they realized what he was getting at.
It was true! If they could prevent the old monsters of the Age of Supreme Emergence from participating, they had more than enough manpower to capture Su Yi.
Master Cloud Refiner and the others’ spirits soared, too.
If they could borrow others’ hands to deal with Su Yi, it really would rid them of the thorniest problem at hand.
Once Su Yi was out of the way, they could attack Master God Yun He and the others, then seize the already captured, helpless Su Yi!
But Su Yi just laughed dryly. “I’m sure they’d love to, but they lack the courage to go through with it.”
“Why do you say that?” Master God Tian Huang said expressionlessly.
“Because I’m here!” bellowed the tall, stalwart young man. “If those old bastards refuse to help out after the fighting starts, I’ll work with Fellow Daoist Su to slaughter them, first!”
Master Cloud Refiner and the others’ expressions darkened. All of them gnashed their teeth with fury.
It was true! With that temperamental blue ox around, there was no way they could stay out of this!
Admittedly, they could choose to retreat and avoid conflict, but if Su Yi avoided capture with that young man’s help… they’d be the ones to suffer in the end!
“Why aren’t you willing to work with us?” Master God Tian Huang frowned. “Don’t tell me you don’t want to capture that heretic Su Yi, too.”
“Why the fuck do I need to explain myself to you?” bellowed the tall young man. “Who the fuck do you think you are?”
This pelting rain of insults made Master God Tian Huang’s face flush red. His eyes surged with murderous intent.
But what really surprised him was that the tall young man wasn’t content with merely insulting him; he was already charging directly at him with intent to kill!
His temper was simply explosive. He was like a firecracker ready to go off at the slightest touch!
Boom!
The tall young man swung his fists and struck with endless force. He was barbaric, ferocious, and tyrannical.
Master God Tian Huang and the others had witnessed his strength while watching from the shadows. They naturally dared not be negligent. All of them attacked in full force.
Kaboom!
Heaven and earth collapsed.
The tall young man was outnumbered, and directly forced back on impact.
But this didn’t just not scare him; it even increased his fury. He roared, “Don’t just stand there, you old farts! Help me kill these bastards!”
Master Cloud Refiner and the others couldn’t have felt any more conflicted.
As they hesitated, Su Yi laughed derisively. “It’s fine if they don’t help. Let’s just fight our way through, then go to their bases as ‘guests.’”
“Sounds good to me,” laughed Wan Zitian.
Master Cloud Refiner and the others were instantly frantic. They no longer dared to hesitate.
“You Nine-Tribulation Master Gods are pushing us too far! How dare you bully a Creation Realm cultivator like Fellow Daoist Su in front of us? You’re simply devoid of conscience!” Lu Song was the first to charge into battle. “So long as we’re here, you can forget about getting away with that!”
“You really are far too shameless. You might want to target Fellow Daoist Su, but we won’t let you.” The colorfully dressed woman floated onto the battlefield, a divine arc of five-colored light flowing around her.
When the two of them stepped forth, the others silently stepped forth.
Master Cloud Refiner’s expression was dark.
Hua Yin said solemnly, “Everyone, I acknowledge that we’re behaving a bit shamelessly, but Fellow Daoist Su has already proven his strength. Now, even if the master of heaven himself wanted to hurt him, he’d have to get through us, first!”
The towering giant, Xiao Bi, was even more direct. He bellowed, “Get out of our way!”
His voice boomed in all directions.
Master God Tian Huang and the others lost their cool. All were enraged and alarmed.
“Why waste time on chatter? Get them!!”
The tall young man was as tyrannical as could be. He swung his fist and charged.
When the others saw this, as much as they objected to his barbaric way of doing things, they had no choice but to join him in battle.
“Die!!” Lu Song bellowed.
The other old monsters attacked, too.
Kaboom!
The entire stretch of heaven and earth was plunged into chaos.
Master God Tian Huang and the others felt incomparably stifled, but they knew that the situation was no longer in their favor, so they didn’t linger. All of them turned and fled.
When Master God Yun He and the others saw this, they could only suppress their bitterness and leave in a huff.
Su Yi couldn’t help but sigh over the Mountain Guardian’s meticulous planning.
Why had he insisted on waiting for those apprentice siblings to arrive?
It was simple. He knew that the tall young man’s presence would prevent Master Cloud Refiner and the others from joining forces with Master God Yun He and his allies!
Had the tall young man not been there, Master Cloud Refiner and the other old monsters would unquestionably have chosen to stay out of things and watch until the present-day Master Gods had captured Su Yi.
As the old saying went, “the mantis stalks the oriole, unaware of the oriole behind.” This time, they wanted to play the oriole.
Of course, Su YI hadn’t known any of this beforehand. This wasn’t what he’d been planning, either.
There was no denying that although the Mountain Guardian had done him an enormous favor, he’d also ruined Su Yi’s original plans.
This wasn’t a huge problem, but it was a bit of a pity, as if things had gone according to his original plans, he and Wan Zitian would have been able to kill at least one old-timer.
He’d just have to give up on that for now.
“Senior Apprentice Brother, don’t chase them!” The feeble girl in plain clothing said timidly.
The tall young man had indeed intended on chasing their fleeing enemies. He was fierce to the point of ridiculousness.
Fortunately, as ferocious as the tall young man was, he obviously listened to his junior apprentice sister, and he immediately came to a halt and grumbled, “If not for my junior apprentice sister, I’d have fought until they’d pissed yourselves in fright!”
By now, their enemies had already escaped. Only the old monsters of the Age of Supreme Emergence remained.
When Wan Zitian saw this, he couldn’t help but smack his lips. It really was a pity.
But then, he knew that he’d have struggled to kill even one of their enemies under the circumstances.
There were just too many of them. Besides, it was almost impossible to stop a Nine-Tribulation Master God intent on fleeing.
“No need to lament. That fatty made these arrangements as a farewell gift. We ought to accept his kindness,” said Su Yi. “It’ll be more satisfying to kill those old-timers with our own two hands later anyway.”
He knew that since the old monsters of the Age of Supreme Emergence had been forced to help, there was no way they’d give it their all.
He couldn’t possibly count on them to keep his enemies from escaping.
Wan Zitian nodded.
At the mention of the Mountain Guardian, the old monsters gnashed their teeth in fury, and they silently cursed that damned fatty countless times over.
“Fellow Daoist Su, I’ve already carried out my end of our agreement,” said the tall young man. “Might you agree to duel my junior apprentice sister?”
Su Yi smiled. “I just so happened to be on my way to Sundial City. Let’s revisit this then.”
“Sundial City?” The old monsters exchanged glances. All of them were stunned.
Three places in the Ruins of Supreme were particularly dangerous and taboo. They were old monsters of the Age of Supreme Emergence, but not even they would dare venture in lightly.
The first was the Celestial Capital.
The second was Sundial City.
The third was Reverse Flow River.
The giant, Xiao Bi, had been trapped in a forbidden zone near Reverse Flow River until not long ago.
“You want to meet my master?” the feeble-looking young woman asked suddenly.”
Only then did the old monsters realize that these apprentice siblings were from Sundial City.
“We just happen to be headed there,” said Su Yi. “We have other business in Sundial City.”
This was indeed a coincidence.
The Mountain Guardian had told Su Yi via transmission that the apprentice siblings were from Sundial City. Su Yi had been quite surprised, too.
The young man said, “Then we can travel together, and you can fight my junior apprentice sister when we get there.”
Su Yi was at a loss for words. Why is he so fixated on that, anyway?
“Fellow Daoist Su.” Lu Song suddenly coughed dryly, then clasped his fist. “What happened earlier was just one big misunderstanding. If we offended you, we humbly request your forgiveness.”
Su Yi’s eyes flashed. “Don’t worry. I naturally won’t take what happened today to heart, and I won’t go out of my way to ‘visit’ you, either.”
Lu Song felt a massive weight lift from his shoulders. He laughed and said, “Fellow Daoist Su, you live up to your reputation as the Bringer of Order who mastered reincarnation. Your magnanimity is extraordinary indeed!”
The other old monsters sighed in relief, too.
They really had been worried. What were they supposed to do if Su Yi refused to let this go?
Hua Yin hesitated, then said, “Fellow Daoist Su, we’ve been trapped here for countless years, and we have no idea what’s become of the outside world. It’s fair to say that we bonded through conflict today, so… might you perhaps be willing to do us a favor and grant us an opportunity to escape the ruins and see the outside world?”
The other old monsters’ hearts stirred. All of them looked at Su Yi.
Su Yi had anticipated this, so he got straight to the point. “If you leave now, you’ll die beyond a doubt.”
All of them furrowed their brows in confusion. Master Cloud Refiner said gravely, “What do you mean, Fellow Daoist Su?”
“You aren’t of the present age, and the natural order will not tolerate your presence,” said Su Yi. “The Laws of Supreme Emergence alone managed to suppress you all this time, and the natural order of the present day is manifested from the Five Great Source Powers.
Su Yi paused, then said in a tone rife with meaning, “From your perspective, the Ruins of Supreme Emergence are a cage, but aren’t they a refuge, too?”
The group’s expressions shifted erratically.
“Of course, if you insist on trying it, just wait for me by the exit, and I’ll let you out when I leave,” Su Yi said casually.
With that, he beckoned to Wan Zitian and set off with the apprentice siblings.
But they’d only just set off when Wan Zitian noticed that the old monsters were following them!
But they remained a distance away, making no attempt to draw closer.
“Strange.” Wan Zitina furrowed his brow. “Just what are those old-timers after?”
Su Yi pondered briefly, then laughed. “No need to pay them any heed.”
