Chapter 1091: Black Sheep
Chapter 1091: Black Sheep
“What? No takers??”
Percival slung taunts at the army of gods by fistfuls. None of them took the bait and kept their distance from him even more than before.
Numerous ancient gods were already dead. Even more were scarred.
“You are all so unbelievably boring. Immortality has made you all soft and inflexible.” Percival sighed. “That’s why you all need something like me around. To shake you all up and remind you that nothing in nature deserves comfort.
Really, you should thank me. You’ve all been secluding yourselves in these happy little huts of care and safety. That’s why you bastards need something like me to be your salvation.
Joy will not save you. It will coddle you. All of you should thank me for my fear and anxiety, because it is the only thing that will make you strong. Aren’t I such a philanthropist? Way better than that other guy you all are so fussy over.”
Percival looked down at Shiva’s limp body in his grasp.
“… See? No words of disagreement from this one. You should all agree-”
“You shut your mouth! You will not disrespect the fallen any longer!” Gaia snapped.
Percival let out a disappointed breath of air from his nose.
“You are boring… At least now you’re a little more pretty to look at, though. You can thank me for that.”
Gaia gnashed her teeth at him.
The venom burn around her eye hadn’t eaten through all of her flesh, but it had scarred her face badly.
However, Gaia didn’t care about the injuries at all right now.
All she wanted was to kill the man who had made her this way. And the man whom she blamed for the killing of her dearest friend.
“I don’t recall hearing much about you being one of the rough-em up types. I guess you’ve been spending so much time around those animals that you’ve started to become one yourself.”
“I’LL KILL YOU!!”
Gaia lunged for Percival in a blind rage.
However, just before she got to him, she saw a blue flash whizz past her vision.
Percival directed Shiva’s neck towards the incoming comet.
But Shiva didn’t have an unlimited amount of poison stored in his neck. And the flow that had once been strong started to run dry.
“Whoops-”
Percival only realized his error just as the blue light slammed into him.
When the light died down and vision was restored, everyone could see Percival locking blades with none other than Yemaja.
The demon lord had a gobsmacked expression on his face.
“…Oh, thank the seven hells. I thought you were one of the important ones.”
“Shut your mouth, you beast! Let go of Ziz NOW!”
“I’m serious, I mean, if you had been one of the stronger ones, then this little defense of mine would not have-”
“RAAAAHHH!!!”
Yemaja’s spear glowed with a blue light and became as fluid as a raging tidal wave.
A current of water surrounded each of the three prongs of her trident.
With each thrust, a tidal wave shot out of the weapon.
And with Yemaja’s speed being great enough to execute a million thrusts in a second, Percival should have been in serious trouble.
But he wasn’t.
Somehow, the Anti-Christ was nudging Yemaja’s spear aside before the blast of water went off. Leaving himself perfectly dry and unharmed.
Which meant that, unfortunately, he was free to keep talking.
“I’m not going to lie, I knew you weren’t a complete warrior when you weren’t fighting with your sister, but I wasn’t expecting you to be this free. This is embarrassing, no wonder you’re your parents’ least favorite.”
“DON’T TALK TO ME! GIVE ME BACK ZIZ OR DIE!!”
“Now that’s a surprise, I thought that you would have been delighted that someone actually wanted to talk to you. I mean, other than the musty club goers you like to grind on and the little boyfriend you’re not even sure you like.”
“YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT! SHUTUPSHUTUPSHUTUP!”
“Oh, I know everything, sweetheart. Now, big yellow might not have put it all together, but it’s plain as day to me. You see your brothers, your uncles, and your father all being the same kind of man that you just wanted to be different. I get it. You’re kind of like me!”
“I am NOTHING like you!”
A whirlpool of water surrounded Yemaja and Percival.
Her form became indistinguishable from the crystalline azure surface.
For a moment, Percival was completely alone in the space, and then a giant, scaly hand tried to grab him.
The demon acrobatically flipped over the hand and avoided any other attempts to grab him.
“Sure you are, kid. You’re the black sheep of the family. You wanna do exciting stuff. I’ll tell you what, I’ll date you. Ziz seemed to think he wasn’t fit for the job anyway, so that’s probably why he came to me for help!”
“YOU’RE LYING!”
A giant, cerulean-scaled dragon poked it’s head through the dome of water. Opening it’s muzzle wide, it unleashed a torrent of azure colored flames.
Percival threw out his hand suddenly.
A wave of intangible power left his palm and turned the flames into cinders.
When the danger passed, he stared down at his hand in wonder.
“…Destruction deities really are different, aren’t they? There are all kinds of ways to abuse a power like this.”
He turned to Yemaja again and peeled back his lips in a malevolent smile.
“Would you mind helping me come up with a few, sweetheart?”
Yemaja’s body slipped into the dome.
She was a particularly large dragon, with a lower body that was serpentine and the upper half of a feminine western dragon.
Her wings were made of razor-sharp blades of water, and her horns were a white-colored coral.
Her eyes glowed brightly with an infernal rage great enough to melt away the polar ice-caps.
“I..will.. kill you..!”
“But whyyy!?” Percival threw his arms up and whined. Almost as if he was tired of being threatened. “We’re supposed to be enjoying the honeymoon stage right now. And I didn’t want to say it out loud, in front of your family, but… I’m already quite familiar with your body. I do know all of Ziz’s little passwords after all.”
Yemaja trembled with anger and humiliation. The water around her, as well as her very body, all turned a deep scarlet.
Percival’s face lost color as if he had only now realized the gargantuan mistake that he had made.
“What was I thinking… I definitely should have said that in front of your family! Can you imagine the expressions they would have made, oh god, I just hope it’s not too late!”
“I WILL KILL YOU!!!!”
Millions of blood red tridents emerged from the water and shot towards Percival.
“Alright… that’s enough playing then.”
Percival’s body began to glow with an ominous black color as he curled his figure into a ball.
When he unraveled himself, his entire body ripped apart, and a surge of energy came with it. Not only destroying the spears aimed at him, but unveiling his true, horrific form for all to see.
It had become significantly more horrific since the last time divine eyes had laid eyes on it. He truly looked like a mishmash of monsters.
Yemaja started to attack Percival again when she suddenly heard a roar that shook her to her core.
“PERCIVALLLLLL!!!!”
The Anti-Christ looked down and saw two sights he couldn’t dream of taking lightly. His scrotum clenched up slightly at the sight.
“Okay, you’re kind of important.”
Abaddon’s head slammed into Percival’s much smaller body, nearly shattering all of the bones in his body in just one blow.
Just as the demon went flying, Seras hopped atop one of her husband’s heads and lunged after him.
She was haunting to look at.
Her eyes were completely unreadable. They were filled with blood.
The tears streaming down her face never seemed to stop, and her face seemed to be permanently contorted in an expression of unimaginable agony.
In one hand, she wielded an ominous-looking Naginata with a dangerous serrated edge.
It took her less than a second to reach Percival. It required even less time for her to bury her weapon in the center of his chest.
Roaring, she drove his body downward through the void, and right toward the waiting mouths of Abaddon.
A familiar, dreadful glow emanated from the back of his throat. Percival doubted any defense he had was going to protect him from that sort of blow.
“Ugh.. I’m starting to get the feeling that you all really don’t like me…!”
Seras didn’t respond. She just kept crying.
“Well, this is uncomfortable, so I hope you don’t mind if I…”
Percival’s tail reached from behind his back and pierced through Seras’ stomach.
He hoped that maybe his new poison would start to rot her immediately, but he had no such luck. Seras didn’t even flinch at the attack.
Even so, with his tail embedded in her body, it was easy for him to fling her off of him and throw her in the way of the incoming wave of flaming lightning that was meant for him.
“Now that’s poetic, and-”
Percival’s words trailed off when he saw a golden light shoot past his vision.
He saw a figure inside of the light whose appearance made him click his teeth in dismay.
The figure scooped up Seras into her arms and moved her out of the way just as Percival was about to be hit full force by Abaddon’s breath.
His terrible anger flashed to the surface once more.
“Why don’t you animals have the decency to stay DEAD-”
When the explosion finally connected, the surrounding realms immediately caught on fire.
