It was surprising that the system would reward him for gifting something the system gave to him as a reward. He never saw that coming. But here he was now, sitting on the pot and holding the mystery box.

It didn’t have a magical presence or anything, and yet he could tell it was no normal present box.

He slowly moved it around, and there was naturally no sender name.

"I hope you aren’t surprising me with some kind of virus here, system."

[The host can rest assured. This surprise would be a pleasant one.]

Trusting the reputation the system had built until now by rewarding him with beneficial things, Kai slowly lifted the lid and peeked inside.

"Hmm?" There was a dark key inside which had a skull structure at the top, and it was about as long as his hand.

"What in the seven worlds is this?" he wondered, and soon got the answer.

"..." Yeah, this was a surprise. Now whether a pleasant one or not, he would find out later.

’But still, this would prove helpful for me since I couldn’t participate in raids.’

Kai had a very simple but strong reason to become stronger.

He wanted to protect his family, protect Jean from those people who had been searching for her.

The only reason he didn’t tell her that they would be fine living in the Kreacher’s Block was because Kai was acutely aware of just how weak and uninfluential he was.

In fact, at his current strength, he wouldn’t be able to handle a group of thugs if someday they decided to attack him.

So yes, he needed to level up. And the system had given him all the recipes to help him.

Finishing up here, he walked out of the washroom and found something surprising.

"Oh," his lips curved when he saw his little one sitting on the table, holding the sugar dispenser in her hand.

Seeing Kai, she began to wave her hands rapidly, her lips curved. "Kyaah!"

Kai couldn’t resist and went to hug his child. Lifting her in his arms, he said, "Did you miss your Papa? I am sorry, baby. Daddy won’t go anywhere now."

The baby was quite happy being held as she offered the sugar dispenser to Kai now.

Kai hummed and asked, "Giving it to me?" He took it from the child, and now freed from holding it, the little one used her arms to hug Kai’s neck and rested her head on him.

Sweetness assaulted right through his heart seeing the baby girl being so cuddly today.

"She really loves you a whole lot more than she does me." From the side, Jean called out.

Kai turned and realized why she said that. "Is that a scratch?" He saw a red mark on the side of her chin.

Jean sighed and said, "I was trying to change her clothes. She is really fussy when it comes to bathing and thought I was going to put her in the water."

Kai chuckled. "Well, kids tend to be fussy about one thing or another. But on the other hand, I feel our child is quite well behaved compared to others’."

Jean scoffed. "Only when you are around. I don’t know if she is already choosing her favorite at this age, but she is way too good to you."

Kai could only smile ear to ear as he kissed his baby’s head and said, "Well, I love my baby too."

Jean’s lips curved in a smile as well. Seeing them getting along so well gave her the assurance that even in her absence, Kai would be able to take care of her.

Kai then suddenly realized something and said, "Right. We need to discuss her name."

Jean nodded. "Yes, that. I have actually prepared a list of ten names which I feel would suit her. What about you?"

Kai grinned. "I have my list as well. Then, how about we draw lots?"

Jean narrowed her eyes. "Only after I see all the names on your list. I would rather not have my baby girl named Angel."

Kai was taken aback. "Why is Angel a bad name?"

Jean shook her head. "Not happening. I will see the list and cross out those names which I find unsuitable for her."

Before Kai could continue, she added, "She isn’t going to stay a child forever, Kai. Be sensible about this."

Kai groaned and turned to the baby. "See that, baby? Mama doesn’t want me to give you an adorable name. So sad." He began to cradle the little girl, who giggled in joy.

Just then, there was a loud knock on the door, followed by the words:

"Mister Kai, we are from the Hunter’s Association. Can we have a minute of yours?"
