Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife

Chapter 1466 - 1507: The May Family’s Rules

In the hall, Amelia Foster saw the patriarch of the May Family for the first time. She had heard from her sister that this old master of the May Family was already over sixty, but looking at him now, he didn’t resemble a man of that age. He appeared quite youthful; even saying he was fifty seemed to suggest he was older than he looked.

Furthermore, the old master of the May Family was rather handsome, a display of a man’s elegance and gentleness, thoroughly embodied in his face. However, Amelia Foster remembered her eldest sister’s words very clearly: don’t be deceived by the master’s seemingly agreeable demeanor, for his moods were unpredictable, and one must not harbor any improper thoughts about him. As soon as he detected even the slightest hint, there would be no chance of staying in this house.

Once, a very pretty maid with a sense of pride, who wasn’t impressed by ordinary men, attempted to target the master. She took advantage of the master’s drunkenness and entered his room.

No one knows what happened in between, only that the maid was eventually dragged out by the security of the May residence, her clothes in disarray, and her belongings were all thrown outside the residence. The clothes she wore barely covered her body.

But the old master didn’t care at all and only said, "Since she doesn’t like wearing clothes, why force her to wear them?"

At the time, they thought that was the master’s punishment, but later it was heard that the maid’s face had been slashed twice as well. Whether the master was the culprit, no one dared to be certain.

Since then, no one dared have any inappropriate thoughts about the master. After all, there was such a precedent.

Moreover, those who stayed in the residence for a while all knew that the master harbored feelings for someone who, for him, remained a mirage.

Yet, even so, the master never had any other woman.

"Are you Amelia Foster? Azalea Foster’s sister?" Theodora May, the patriarch of the May Family, asked.

"Yes." Amelia responded.

"Do you know the rules of the May Family?"

"Yes, my eldest sister has told me all about them."

"May Family prefers dutiful servants. If you adhere to your duties, you won’t be mistreated. But if you entertain any wrong thoughts, you will absolutely regret joining the May Family. Do you still plan to stay?" Theodora May said, his calm demeanor as if he were discussing an ordinary subject. However, Amelia had already learned from her eldest sister about some of the master’s ways of doing things and recognized this as a warning.

"I will adhere to my duties. I don’t want anything right now, just to work well so I can support my two children," Amelia said.

"Alright, go down then, and let the steward register you," Theodora May said flatly.

Amelia suddenly relaxed, signifying she could stay. But before she could leave the hall, she heard a crisp voice come from the doorway, "Brother, hold me."

Amelia’s foot nearly slipped; that voice... it was the voice of her daughter. But hadn’t she instructed her son to look after her daughter? Why had her son brought her daughter here?

Amelia hurriedly walked over, and upon seeing the person in front of her adopted daughter, she was utterly stunned.
